Okay, so it doesn't look like much, but then again neither does Benedict Cumberbatch, and look how big he is right now.
The entire shop is basically a homage to your classic 1980s Australian fish and chipper, mainly because it IS your classic 1980s Australian fish and chipper, complete with hand-written posters advertising food that isn't on the large painted menu, old blue tiles, and seriously cheap prices.
But don't be too quick to judge like we initially did, because the quality of the food was outstanding. We had grilled octopus and grilled fish, both with chips, and seafood was firm, flavoursome, with just the right amount of lemon and herbs, and the chips, good lord, with a double-dust of chicken salt they deserved some kind of delicious award. The fact that we drove down to Athol Bay and ate them on one of Sydney's finest secret beaches also helped. A lot. read more
