While we were there, a few more groups came in and it got a bit busy. The owner came over to our table to talk about the menu and greet us. He gave great advice into how big things were and what was the right size for kids (I had 4 with me) and for the youngest, he made homemade Calamari rings for a child's meal - and they were so delicious we were all circling the leftovers! The rib decision, half rack or whole, was quickly solved as I was instructed that a half would be more than enough. Indeed it was! It was the size of a full rack anywhere else! I took half home and enjoyed them for lunch the next day! One ordered the chicken burger and it was gorgeous, marinated and grilled, not breaded and fried, and it was also quite big, and half went home. Two of the girls split the big burger which had two patties and all sorts of lovely toppings. It was delicious and the owner split the burger at the table for the girls. We also had started with the loaded chips, which were loaded with cheese, bacon and whatnot, super yummy, but there was a lot there and it didn't get finished. I would definitely recommend to anyone, and we are looking forward to another visit soon.

Service was awesomely fast and the burger and tacos tasty but maybe suffering from too cold salads and ready-to-go buns. With a wife range of platters, bowls, burgers and tacos with wings, loaded fries and all the fixings Smoky Sue's is bound to please. Worth a look.

We ordered a variety of food including the buffalo wings/chipotle wings, grilled cheese, frickles, loaded chili fries, sweet potato fries, and the highlight being the smash burger...don't be deceived by what it looks like, this trumps even In'n'Out. My wife (who is American) was absolutely loving life and I'm pretty sure the grilled cheese turned her on more than I can so I might have the chef to thank later tonight. Bar staff and owner very friendly and hospitable and in true American service style, they very quick to see how things were and be generous in areas where other places wouldn't. Tap beer selection was great with a rotating brewer every month. Highly recommended!

This place is a veritable institution, a beacon of light and coffee and chocolate cake on the traffic hell of Military Road, a 2am sanctuary where you can get hot chips or sandwiches or whatever takes your fancy at what is, let's be honest, an ungodly hour of the morning, when you don't want to look into the mirris that line the place because you might not recognise what stares back at you. The owners are super friendly and there's a Mad Max-like pulley system rigged up between the kitchen and the counter that trips me out every time I see it.

The cheesecake here is pretty good too. Smooth and not too thick so you don't get sick of it after a few mouthful. I had the linguine pasta with chilli, shrimp and rocket. I personally found it a little too bland for my liking and wish there was more flavor. The dish just somehow lacks a kick. Overall a decent cafe for desserts and meetup :/
