This is the Blue Bottle "location" (more like a stand) INSIDE of Valley Fair, not the one at Santana Row. Honestly, this one is a joke and mega blow to Blue Bottle's reputation. I'll start by saying that I usually love Blue Bottle, but this location doesn't even have or use an actual espresso machine lol. Everything here is pre-made and just poured together. We watched them pour their "pre-made" espresso out of a teapot on the back counter (which I'd guess was pulled hours if not days ago). Goes without saying, but the taste is absolute trash. They also just use automatic milk frothers here. It's pretty depressing to watch how they make the drinks. Goes against everything that Blue Bottle is supposed to be. read more

Blue bottle coffee in the mall?! What could be wrong? Well it's still nice coffee, but for their premium price I was expecting their typical fresh stuff that other locations have. Unfortunately if you have sharp eyes like I do, you'll notice they expressly say on the top right of their menu that they're using their instant coffee at this location. Coffee snobs might be the only type to notice but the aroma is noticeably cut by the shift. In the spirit of trying it out anyway, I got a latte and iced nola to see how big of a difference it is and for me at least it's enough that I'd stick to the santana row spot. Both were aromatic, but not that wonderful depth to it that had me hooked to begin with. Nice and smooth at least since the latte had the foamer and all, but otherwise just okay. read more

I ordered the mocha and appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet--you could really taste the dark chocolate--but the coffee flavor itself was a bit too mild for my taste. The vanilla chicory ended up being my favorite, though it also had a lighter coffee profile. The latte with orange and chocolate notes was quite subtle, and those flavors didn't come through strongly. I LOVE this location of Blue Bottle! It is right in the middle of Valley Fair Mall. I was sooo happy when I saw they were open! Service was better here than on the Row side. Their iced Nola coffee is SO delicious! It's a perfect balance of their delicious coffee with creamy oatmilk. Upon my first sip, I felt like I was in coffee heaven. Blue Bottle is probably my favorite coffee. Love that they also have tables & chairs right in front of the coffee stand - so you can sit down & enjoy it. That probably explains why there's never much a of a line... but it also makes the drinks feel overpriced since you're not getting fresh-pulled espresso. The service at this place is the worst. I ordered a large Nola and banana nut cake for $13.02. After that, they gave me a small Nola. When I discussed this with the service girl, she told me that I didn't order the Large and told me that she confirmed with me before taking my order (which is a lie). She told me that I must order another one and get the refund, which I agreed to. Then, she just dumped the small coffee with attitude. I reordered another Large Nola for $7. When I checked my bank account, I got a refund for $7 ( if it was the small coffee then it should only 6$). How can it be my mistake if I ordered a small Nola?. So basically she took my order correctly but made the wrong size for me and then blamed me that I must make a refund and get a new one. read more

The coffee quality is not even close to the Blue Bottle quality we used to know. It tasted more like Starbucks. We got a regular coffee latte, and an iced oat milk latte.
