Shrimp Poke Bowl
Jeffy M.

Unbelievable. Food is so fresh. Prepared beautifully. I had a poke bowl with shrimp and I can't wait to have it again soon. The store itself is very nice inside and the employees are helpful. Come here and give it a try, you will be impressed!

Immaculate food. If you are looking for crispy katsu, delectable rice, tender beef, homemade ginger dressing, not greasy or salty, this it it. Totally fresh. Totally clean and kind and great for kids. Great for singles. Sells fresh fish uncooked. Sells coleslaw and plain, lovely cooked shrimp- I sat next to an 80yo eating a meal by herself of plump, perfectly poached shrimp and coleslaw. Where else can you get this? They also sell croiffles. Banana pudding as good as nyc. Boba. This place made our day. We got Shumai and they asked- do you want us to steam them or fry them? !! Each meal came with a unique dip or sauce or dressing. I forgot to ask for kimchee with our meal and I am sad because I think they might make their own. Nice bathrooms. Great service. As small as it is, this place might be worth a special trip, or at the very least a detour- it's hard to find a place that is casual yet also very chic, and makes you feel great with every perfect bite.

The attention to detail is top notch! The find knife work to get the cucumber sliced like this balance and shape of all the ingredients.

This is such a cute family run business. You can be a little eclectic being at the seafood market, Korean food, fried seafood, and then a little coffee shop with pastries. they have premade sushi rolls, but they also make stuff to order. Why I give this place five stars is because it's authentic Korean food made with love. I am half Japanese and do most of the cooking myself. I am really picky about my rice and my sushi. If you know anything about sushi you know a huge part is the actual rice. The quality and care that went into their rice is top notch. Certain days of the week they make specific Korean dishes that I love. Gimbap (Monday and Friday) Japchae. Best Gimpad in CT hands down. The quality of all the ingredients and care which its rolled shows the love. Woo Young Woo would approve. The place is super cute inside, the little coffee shop with is separated with a little glass wall. So you don't feel like your getting coffee at your local fish market. The sushi menu is not super expensive, but whatever they do, they do well. I've tried their pastries/ desserts, and they are very good.

Was in the Fairfield area for a quick getaway and was so pleasantly surprised to find Blue + Berries! The owner (I didn't catch her name) was incredibly friendly, the store was well stocked and nicely decorated! Ordered the doshirak specials (spicy pork and tonkatsu) and both were authentic and fantastic. Also picked up a spicy salmon roll which had perfect rice and a good portion of fish. The baked goods are made in house, the cake pop and the chocolate chip cookies were so fresh and delicious. Would definitely love to stop by again when I'm in the area!

Really fresh and beautifully presented sushi and poke Bowls. The owners are all super sweet and friendly, they helped me choose sauces to go with my bowl. I was able to choose something yummy for everyone in the family. California roll was cut nice and small so it was easy for kids to eat. I can't wait to come back and get fresh fish for dinner and also visit their cute cafe!

Yummy and fresh seafood! The service here is amazing, very nice Korean own shop. There is a Cafe attached to this shop that serves some sweets and Boba.

What an amazing addition to Fairfield! The owner immediately gave me the most warm welcome when I came in. The store is divided into two sections - the blue is the fish/grocery section and the berries is the pastry and coffee shop. They've got plenty of fresh fish and a sushi counter in the back along with several Korean and Asian grocery items. There are some prepared meals in the sushi counter and in the refrigerated section like marinated bulgogi, fresh kimchi, seafood bisque, and plenty more. I chose some sushi since I was in a rush and my favorite honey butter chips and maple cotton candy. I hope they add some more Korean banchan like the ones you can find at the bigger stores. I then went into the pastry shop and had to hold myself back from getting one of everything. I got the currant scone and the almond brioche. Everything is freshly baked on premises and reminds me of the pastry shops you find in Koreatown (ie paris baguette). The sushi was fresh and delicious. The almond brioche was so light, not too sweet and perfect for an afternoon snack. I only wish I had gotten more! My mom loved her scone. The prices here are more than reasonable and the sushi is a huge portion and great quality for the price. Very convenient location in the old navy plaza in Fairfield with plenty of parking. Will definitely be back here again and again!

Ordered 30 cake pops for my daughter's birthday that couldn't have been more delicious! The owner allowed me to help customize the design. They were individually wrapped and are good in the fridge for up to 3 weeks!

We love this place so much!! It's such a unique concept and they execute it so well. The coffee and pastries are phenomenal and the sushi was so fresh and delicious! But best of all the staff is so so nice. Every time I come here with my daughter they are always giving her free samples of the baked goods, free crackers, they gave her a cute little Christmas tree pencil around the holidays. We went in once for donuts once and the donuts weren't ready but they had a few donut holes and just gave them to my daughter for free. They are just the best and I'm happy to support their business whenever I can!

Nordic Fish - Coleslaw, tarter sauce, fish and chips & I'm floating around in heaven....

Nordic Fish has been on my must try list for a while, so when I was recently in the area and found…read moremyself a few businesses over, I knew that I had to stop in and try something. I was immediately impressed by the space. It was extremely inviting, open, high ceilings and bright. The sushi counter is front and center. I immediately approached their case of freshly prepared, and was warmly greeted by one of the hard at work sushi chefs. I picked out one of their "Tokyo plus" sampler packs that included 3 pc each of salmon and tuna nigiri, and a spicy tuna roll for $18.95. Everyone there was beyond friendly and sweet, even as I just bought my sushi pack to go and left. Super impressed by the customer service. As for the sushi itself, it was incredibly fresh tasting and obviously extremely high quality fish. Super buttery. I was wowed for the price as well, which I thought was reasonable to begin with. If I lived closer, I would be here all the time. It was an all around incredible experience. I look forward to trying more from them. Can't overstate how much I loved my first experience with Nordic Fish. A must try.

I stopped by for a quick lunch and was impressed with their fast casual hot meals. My group mentioned that the fish & chips were some of the best they've had! The lobster roll was also tasty, and it comes generously sized with plenty of lobster meat and sides of coleslaw and your choice of fries, veggies, chips, or corn. The brioche bun for the roll was also perfectly grilled and buttered up. In fact, we learned that the restaurant gets their buns fresh daily from a nearby bakery. Since we had arrived for an earlier lunch and the bread wasn't ready yet, there was actually a ~20+ min delay in getting our food. Regardless, the food was delicious, and the staff were very apologetic and offered to serve our sides while we waited. If we lived closer or brought a cooler, we'd probably bring fresh seafood back home. Would definitely love to stop by again one day!

"Disappointed by a Normally Great Experience"…read more I've always enjoyed stopping by Sunny Farms for lunch and usually have a good experience. However, today was disappointing. I was in a rush during my lunch hour and didn't notice until a few minutes later that I was charged $6.99 for a single bottle of water--not a case. Fortunately, I wasn't far and went back with my receipt and the bottle. What left me unsettled wasn't just the mistake, but how the return was handled. The receipt was snatched from my hands and crumpled, and though I was told I would get $7.40 back, I was initially handed only $5.40. When I questioned it, the cashier turned around, pulled out the $2, and handed it over, explaining the process as if I had misunderstood something. No apology was offered for either the overcharge or the mix-up with the refund. I get that mistakes happen--we're all human--but customer service is about how those mistakes are handled. This time, it missed the mark. I'll continue to shop here, but I'll definitely be double-checking receipts moving forward.

The truck left and that's when we realized oh there's the farm stand. It's basically like a shed and it's so cute. My hubs was like this is weird like we were in a horror movie lol. Like relax it's CT by a farm, not someone's back alley :P Anyway so I went in by myself and surprise the cute shed had a bunch of dairy products etc and I love chocolate milk so I was in heaven. Then you basically use a register that takes cards, you put what you're buying, pay and leave. I think it's actually a great idea to constantly have a farm stand like this (I assume in the winter too?) I haven't drank the chocolate milk yet but I assume it'll be delicious. I finally just tried the chocolate milk & omg it's delicious.

Milk & eggs in the coolers. Meats in the freezers. The meats available when I was there were mostly pork and Turkey, separated into cuts and vacuum sealed.
