I was craving sushi and when I used Yelp to search, High Ridge Fish Market came up so I gave them a try and it was excellent. The already made sushi was running low in stock so they made me a fresh one. Friendly staff, from the looking, I think it's a family run which is really good. I love to support family business. The store is so nice and clean. I will have to come back again for fresh fish and seafood. Highly recommend. read more

Went here today as someone told me about this place. I bought the wild shrimp and I haven't tasted anything this good in a while. I usually make this garlic shrimp by chef John (amazing and super simple) and I think it was the fresh shrimp that made it all better. I normally go to New Wave Seafood since it's closer to my home but after trying High Ridge Seafood a couple of times I will never go there again and only go here. The seafood is so fresh, the store is immaculate, great selection and the employees/owners are very nice. I bought 2 pounds of the big eye tuna a few weeks ago and the gentleman behind the counter explained to me that this was high end sushi grade tuna and best eaten raw or very rare as opposed to grilling it which I had planned on doing that night. We made sashimi with it instead and it was melt in your mouth delicious!Going there tonight to try their fish and chips and some sushi. read more

So happy there's a reliable and friendly seafood place with easy, fast takeout and great service. Delightful family owned business. Only problem is parking on busy High Ridge Rd. Best place to park is the side street next to the strip mall or lot behind the building. One suggestion regarding their food. French fries are of the modified/engineered variety with fake crunchy-ness. Every restaurant serves these but my personal favorite type of fry is the plain steak fry (more potato taste and stay hot longer). I'm a French fry snob so take my opinion for what it's worth. Lastly, my nutritionist recommends staying away from fried foods in general but I love fried foods! Just saying the quality and type of fry oil should be promoted as heart healthy (if it actually is). Ok, last, last thing. Coleslaw is good but would like bigger portion rather than asking for extra (nitpicking). read more

This place may be new but it is JUST what stamford needs. It has an assortment of seafood, chips, Japanese products, sushi, poke bowls, and platters to choose from. You can't go wrong going here. I've been here a few times already. The staff is so kind and the shrimp is to die for! I cannot wait to try to lobster from here. Also it's cheaper and closer than other place I used to go to. I don't usually leave reviews, but High Ridge Fish Market deserves one. It's a new business and I love what they're doing. Their cuts of fish looked excellent, the place is super clean, they have a small selection of niche grocery products, and their prepared food is really good. I got a great poke bowl (better balance and selection of ingredients than I would have been able to choose for myself and the rice was just perfect!) and am looking forward to trying the other items on their menu. read more

while visiting relatives in stamford I purchased 1 pound of scallops the night before xmas to make bacon wrapped scallops for entrees for xmas dinner. three people ate the scallops (and nothing else) and within two hours all three (including myself) were nauseous. two of us threw up soon after, and none of us were able to eat the rest of the food that had been prepared that evening. xmas dinner, completely ruined thanks to this store. Beautiful, new, spanking clean, conveniently located store with a great selection and a lovely, accommodating owner. I'd dock the place a quarter star if I could do that because I found the fish and chips to be just fair. I prefer a batter coating instead of breading and fries instead of potato chips (I thought the "chips" in fish and chips were always French fries. No?) And the breading was under seasoned. So prepared food may not be their strength. But it's a great choice otherwise. read more
