Inside tasting room

Blue Bee is back and better than ever in their new spot on Bethlehelm Rd by Libbie Mill. I am so happy for the new owners Mackenzie and Taylor and love what they have done with the space! You must check them out! The tasting room is so cozy with plenty of bar seating and comfy couches. The cider menu has all the old favorites with a new spin of a "song pairing" and I am anxiously awaiting new flavors once harvest happens and Taylor starts experimenting with new vintages! They have a snack menu too- chips, hmnad, charturie boards, and plan on rotating food trucks. They have nice outdoor seating on a spacious deck and a parking lot too ( approximately 30 spots beteeen their private lot and adjacent busineses) My rating rationale +1 Service +1 Food~Taste/flavor/quality +1 Presentation +1 Atmosphere/vibe +1 Value

Cute new location, a little off the beaten path. Does not have the biggest parking lot lots of yummy drinks to choose from alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Very festively decorated for the holiday season. Very comfortable place to bring in food or games and just to hang out and have a yummy drink.

Friendly cute place but surprised at the flavors. If you're looking for sweet, this may not be for you. However the vibes are nice, the place is comfy, and the staff is friendly. If you want to go for a good conversation about random things then sit at the bar and enjoy a glass.

So many options! Try the flights.

WOW. This place is just so cool. First off, find me another dog-friendly (inside) cidery. Oh yeah, that's right, you can't! This place is one of a kind truly. We were welcomed by the owners firsthand upon walking in and they took so much time explaining their concept and favorite flavors/recommendations. Turns out their flights are super affordable so we got to try a bit of everything and it was all SO GOOD. Unique flavors that I'd come back for any day of the week - outdid almost every other cidery I've been to in the states to be quite honest. Plus the interior is just so freaking cool and creative - such a fun theme with really well-selected decor that makes the overall vibe of this place into one of the most "feel-good" spots in all of RVA.

Okay I came here with my boyfriend and my dad since we love cider, and YUM! I loved all the options here. The staff were super knowledgeable about the product which helped me pick a cider, and it wasn't too pricy either. We loved everything we picked, my boyfriend got a tangy / slightly sour one, and mine was lighter and sweet. My dad loved his as well; everything was great. I liked that they had cheese and snacks you could get too. Besides the cider the ambiance was fantastic. I loved the outdoor seating area and the cute little tents outside. They were perfect for a cozy fall cider run.

My favorite spot in Richmond. Somehow I always end up here! I've loved coming throughout the years. Always a wonderful spot and atmosphere. I like all the ciders and enjoy getting flights to try them. My current favorite is the flowery Hops Addition. The tours are great as well; check for the schedule to plan ahead as they aren't very often. Highly highly recommended!

Best cider I've had in a while. Great service! They have Cider Frose' - it's also a great little chill hang out spot too!

I am not a cider fan at all but was here being a team player. I'm not sure where we were in Richmond, but it seemed like it was a quiet, maybe artsy area. The venue had seating set up outside with picnic style tables and, in a garage area, additional smaller tables where the tastings took place. We were provided hand warmers and shown a table in the garage area while we awaited time for our tour and tasting. It was a decent size with 4 tables set up. This would have been a hands down fun experience if there was at least one or two heaters to make the space more comfortable. The tour guide was amazing. Fun, personable and gave us a ton of info about the process of making cider from picking the apples to how they label the bottles. The tour went much quicker than I expected and was grateful. Once back in the garage, we were brought out our tastings. There were two trays of around 5 ciders each. We went through each one and I was impressed with how different each one was and just surprised in general that there were so many different types. Who knew?! I would recommend definitely going in the spring or summer - not in the winter when its like 20 degrees.

Love the new location! Parking was easy, staff was friendly, and the space was easy going. Needed help choosing my flight options and was walked through the menu very easily. Hewe's Crab cider was DELICIOUS! Can't wait to visit again.

This is the best cider we have had in this state. They take such care to understand the nuance of flavors that can be created. True dry ciders, lovely, Sweet staff. Cute indoor and outdoor space. Awesome cheese pairings or snacks available next door.

Blue Bee Cider is one of the several cideries in Scott's Addison. It's a small stone building with a tiny tasting room inside also selling swag. Outside are tables, water jugs, and a few lawn games. They usually have a great playlist going outside. We ordered two flights and they really have a wide range of ciders from more sweet to more sour. If you like ciders, it's worth going!

A wonderful place to relax on a Saturday afternoon, they had plenty of outdoor seating (not sure if they have an inside area) and live music which was a nice touch. There's an inside area where you go to order and you can either get a glass or a flight of ciders; I opted for the flight as it gave me a chance to try a variety of flavors. There's street parking, and also a cheesmonger shop (across from the bar entry), I did not get a chance to check them out so not sure what kinds of snacks they have.

I give 3 stars for the cider but 5 for Blue Bee as a venue. I'm not a huge fan of cider in general, so maybe that's why I think most of them taste the same and just a bit boring. A six ounce pour starts at about $6 and they have flights for around $15. Personally I'd rather have wine or beer, but many of my cider loving friends enjoy Blue Bee. The tasting room is small and simple, located inside an adorable stone building that reminds me of a cottage. Indoor/covered searing is available in converted garages with roll up doors that let in sunlight and a breeze on a nice day. The outdoor courtyard has picnic tables and cornhole, and is occasionally home to food trucks or events like the Bizarre Market, an arts and crafts pop up with wares from local artists. My favorite thing about Blue Bee is that they also regularly host workshops to get your creative juices flowing, ranging from cookie and cupcake decorating to macrame and candle making. Check out their website for a full schedule of events!

You enter through the gate and head inside to get your wine. The couple running this winery were very nice and helped me pick our four wines to try. I don't like oaky whites or tanniny reds, but was able to find four whites to try: 2024 Sunrise on the James, which was semi-sweet and tart from the blood orange; 2024 Island Time, semi-sweet with a tart pineapple flavor; 2021 Vidal Blanc, which I thought had a funny smell and taste; 2023 River Breeze, which was citrusy but also kind of watery. I sat outside and listened to a talented guitar on the covered patio. The service was top notch, and the owners were really friendly, but I personally didn't like any of the wines I tried.

The grapes are a bit younger (oldest vines about five years) so the flavors are sharp and punchy. There drinkable now but also will age well. They have quite a variety on the tasting menu - from port style, whites and reds. We had a great tasting experience with one of the owners and felt comfortable sitting and drinking wine after our wine tasting. No snacks yet, but they are planning on getting.

Sexy Bougie Winos Take on 53rd Vineyard!…read more We finally made it to 53rd Vineyard in Louisa, Virginia, and the experience was absolutely mind-blowing! From the moment we arrived, Chelsea, Dave, and Tony warmly welcomed us. A special thank you to Tony for helping me plan our tasting and patiently answering my hundred emails! Now, let's talk about the WINES! The ladies loved every single one. Even those who usually prefer reds fell in love with the whites, and we were pleasantly surprised by Chelsea's stainless-steel Chardonnay. Even I, not usually a rosé fan, fell in love with hers. That tells you everything! With delicious charcuterie and a guided tasting, the afternoon was exceptional. You can taste the love, passion, and craftsmanship in every bottle. 53rd Vineyard made us feel right at home, and the ladies left with bottles to remember the experience. And guess what? They're already asking me to plan another trip! Ladies, let me unpack first! Thank you, 53rd Vineyard, for the incredible hospitality, unforgettable wines, and beautiful Sunday afternoon. We can't wait to return! If you haven't visited 53rd Vineyard yet, put it on your list. Your palate will thank you!

They always make me laugh. They are attentive and well informed. We finally, after two years of coming here every few months, joined as members. My boss actually is a member too, which is so fun to meet up as families. There are multiple seating options. The patio/balcony is my favorite. The tables in the lawn are perfect if you want more space. And there is plenty of room for your picnic blankets or your own chairs. I love that they have the grape vines too. So many wineries in and around Richmond are missing that vibe. 10/10 Will recommend.

The venue and atmosphere are lovely, the red wine flight is OK, but only 2 out of the 4 wines are worth recommending (Tannat and #1 Red Blend). The Zachariah needs aging. The menu has a nice variety, that should please most anyone, but the food was disappointing overall. The lobster tempura from the sharable menu (4 skewers with1/2 of a 3 oz. lobster tail on each [$39] is completely unseasoned and pretty much flavorless, so the lobster must be farm raised. The smash burger is served only well done because as the server said "That's the way we do it here". Other restaurants manage medium to medium-well, but this kitchen doesn't. The sharable menu boasts 1/2 lb of seasoned chilled jumbo shrimp. The shrimp were far from jumbo, more like the 45 count per lb size (large but not extra large, and certainly not jumbo), and lacked any seasoning except cocktail sauce on the side with so much horseradish it burns the sinuses. The service was good until it came time to pay the bill. I bought a bottle of the Zachariah red wine to give as a gift to someone with that name, and the waitress added it to the food bill and then added a 20% tip that also included the cost of the wine. Additionally, they collected the 6.3% served food tax to the cost of the bottle of wine, which is illegal. When I brought this to the server's attention, she refused to correct this, saying "This is how we do it here". Lastly, I paid cash and the server tried to pocket the $10 change and when I asked her for it she condescendingly asked, "You really want your change?" I said that I made no mention that she should keep it, and had already tipped her 20%. She was obviously annoyed and when she returned thrust the $10 at me, and without a word turned and walked away.

We first fell in love with Virago because of their products, which is ultimately what prompted us to reach out about hosting an event in their space. After having the pleasure of not only enjoying their tasting room but also hosting our event there, we now have an entirely new appreciation for what makes Virago so special. First and foremost, a HUGE shoutout to the incredible people who made our experience so memorable- Vicki, Mike, Barry, Floyd, and everyone else we interacted with were so welcoming, friendly, and genuinely enjoyable to talk to. And Cade and Miles behind the bar absolutely knocked it out of the park. They provided some of the best hospitality we could have asked for while also making some seriously delicious drinks to complement the experience. We were even lucky enough to get a tour and hear more about the history of the facility, the people behind Virago, and the mission that drives what they do. We were completely blown away. It was one of those experiences that makes you realize there is so much more behind a great product than what you see on the shelf. Working with the Virago team from start to finish was an absolute pleasure. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure our event was handled perfectly, and it showed. Every one of our guests left happy, impressed, and in great spirits. We already had plenty of love for Virago's products before this experience, but now we have an even greater appreciation for the people behind them. We will absolutely be repeat customers, and judging by the reactions of everyone we brought with us, Virago gained quite a few new customers that day as well! Thank you to the entire Virago team for making such an important occasion for us even more special. It was a great way to keep people busy while they waited. We had a reservation and the waitress seated us after what seemed like 2 mins. Seth was our server, he was friendly and knowledgeable and attentive. Since it was our first time here, and first time actually trying (good) wine, he was able to provide us with samples and give us his opinion on foods. Started off with the pretzel bread, it was amazing! Such a cool concept (they also use the pretzels as croutons in the salad) speaking of salad, the Caesar salad we ordered was wonderful, crispy and cold. We ordered the drunken shrimp which was delicious, crispy, and complimented very well with a combination of the flavors and sauces. I ordered the seafood risotto and usually I'm not a fan of risotto or it's not my go to, it ended up being one of the best things I've had! The flavors were so good combined and the seafood was nicely cooked and seasoned. My bf got a dish (I forgot what it was called) but had noodles, chicken over a lemon sauce and capers) his was fantastic as well! The fingerling potatoes also had a lot of flavor, almost an au gratin style! Of course, we couldn't finish dinner and my drinking a whole bottle of wine without dessert, we got the smores dessert which was amazing. It has 4 different layers of flavor and every bit was fantastic. As first timers, we will be back! Seth was a great waiter and made the experience good. The service and timing of food was great, and the food itself was phenomenal. This place is the definition of wine and dine! It's busy but spacious with a good vibe.
