Booked a body scrub, 90 min massage, and a pedicure with a friend back in early December. We made the bookings a month in advance, and we ONLY found out that they couldn't do the body treatments anymore due to Covid restrictions again when my friend called a few days before to change her massage to a pregnancy massage. No one called me to relay that info whatsoever. Then, someone called me at 12:30pm on the same day of service to confirm my 2pm appointment (but still no mention of the cancelled body treatment), ummm OK. The ladies room was ok. It was clean but it definitely could have been bigger in the changing area. 2 people barely had room to change and of course there was someone else in there with us too. It was awkward. We then waited in the relaxation room before our massages. It was clean and cozy, and well decorated for the holidays. The faux fireplace was on and the room was filled with holiday music. The only complaint I had was that I wanted to make some tea but couldn't find any clean mugs. There were a couple of used ones that haven't been cleaned yet and I was going to clean them myself but couldn't locate any dishwashing soap whatsoever. Couldn't even locate any hand soap (I literally opened every drawer and cabinet). Water it was. The massage was nice. I typically get them every 2-3 weeks and the massage therapist (I think her name was Valencia?) I had was pretty good. I would go to her again if the spa didn't charge 50-65% more than my other go-to massage places. Onto the pedicures. They assigned someone to be specifically because I wanted a french pedi. She was very nice and I enjoyed our conversations a lot, BUT she was not very good at the french tips, or pedicures in general. I guess I should have expected that cause I normally go to nail salons where that's all they do, all day long, whereas this lady did hair and dabbled in nails. Would I pay $270 ($150+$75+20% tip) for those same services again? Probably not. But it was a nice time spent with a friend and I may do it again as an annual treat with friends. read more

Really like this salon/spa. I've been here twice for waxing services and never felt better. Jessica has been great and would highly recommend her, especially if you're new to a certain service and have questions. The reception staff are always kind and welcoming and also help you out as needed. I like the atmosphere and really enjoy seeing all the new products they have each time I go in. 5/5 read more

My friend and I decided to do pamper day because we deserve it! After searching around we picked the Blu Spa package deal. We got the massage, manicure and pedicure. It was a nice relaxing day. The masseuse really nice and did a good job. Too bad I forgot her name. The nail technician really nice and patience. I never failed to ruin a nail or two before leaving the salon after manicure. This is one of reason I don't really do manicure. But she patiently fixed it. My friend also have a good experience. We decided to do this probably annually. Too bad with Covid otherwise we would have also tack in lunch somewhere. We only did this and home. I recommend this spa. read more

I went for the first time recently to get a facial with Nicole which was amazing! I'm going back this week for a massage with Stephany and hope it's a similar, wonderful experience. Nicole sat and chatted with me first about my skin, why I came in etc and built a lot of trust. I 100% trusted her judgement on what my skin needed that day. Samana is a 5/5 review. They offer you coffee or water upon entering. Samana did too when I sat down. She always does an excellent job on my nails and toes. She doesn't mess anything up and she's a great conversationalist. She's really the only nail tech there who knows what she's doing and does a fabulous job. I hate when I can't book with her so I usually try to book ahead. The salon will send you an email and numerous texts to remind you of your upcoming appointment, which is very helpful. Came in for a mani/pedi. I was very impressed with how beautiful the salon is! Decorated so nicely. Major props for having pretzels in the waiting room - I had just come from work and would have gotten hangry during my appointment. Anna was friendly and did a great job! I really appreciated that she took the time to fix my thumb when I accidentally got towel fuzz stuck in the nail polish, and that she took the time to do a third coat of color because it was sheer. She had excellent attention to detail and took pride in her work. I'm looking forward to coming back in two weeks to get a polish change! read more

I am 8 months pregnant and had a medical issue that morning which prevented me from attending my appointment. I called to let the front desk know I would need to reschedule after missing my appointment that day. I found that my credit card was charged for the full appointment value without my consent. When I called and asked to speak to a manager to explain the situation, the manager was very rude and said that unless I was in active labor my issues would not have qualified as an emergency. I explained that I made the appointment over the phone and was not made aware of such a strict policy and was told that because my credit card was on file they could charge the full appointment value because employees worked on commission. I stated that again, I was not made aware of the policy, in none of the emails about my appointment confirmation it stated they would automatically charge my card if an appointment was missed, and had a medical issue that needed to be addressed. I also said that I am happy to pay the portion of the commission for the appointment, because I would hate for a worker to loose out on their income, and asked if that would be possible. I was told no and that there would not be any further discussion about it. Not only was the manager's tone very condescending, but I'm frustrated that the only way my pregnancy-related issues (at 8 months pregnant) would be considered a refundable would be if I was in active labor. I did end up having to see my doctor that day. I was very happy with my past services and it's unfortunate that I will not be a customer of this salon again because of their perspective on this issue. I would recommend seeking salon services elsewhere given the lack of empathy and professionalism this company demonstrates. Update: After posting this comment I received a call from a different manager than the original one I spoke with saying that the Owner, Dina, said she would only reimburse me if I brought in a doctor's note having the date and reason I was seen. It's kind of crazy to me that a spa company is asking for my personal information protected by HIPAA laws... No thank you- I'm good, no need to come back again. I'm an adult woman in my mid-30's who has never missed an appointment with them before after receiving several services there in the past. It's really terrible and degrading customer service when something goes wrong. read more

This time it was for a pedicure, and my mother got a massage. they were able to get us in the same day. Everybody was very nice, and made us feel at home. My pedicure was good. Nice ands relaxing. Wow, I haven't been to many day spas but this one takes the cake for me! The staff are very friendly and the place is decorated beautifully. The bathrooms were recently updated with huge showers and all glass privacy doors. The massage robes are extra roomy and comfortable. Very clean. The waiting room for massages is so pretty and relaxing. Dim lights, candles, and comfy chairs. A fireplace and a drink bar for before and after your massage. I was welcomed to sit and relax there as long as I wanted post- massage. My favorite massage therapist is Valencia. She makes me feel super comfortable and gives a massage that makes me feel heavenly. Will be back for many more! read more

I needed a new stylist to color and cut my hair. I got an appointment with Amber and I couldn't be happier! The first thing I noticed was how gentle she was when working with my hair! She always sits with you to make sure she knows what you want and makes you feel beautiful when you walk out the door. She always gives a great scalp massage while washing your hair too! Took my mom and sister here for massages and pedicures. The massage room was way too cold and the therapist was clearly pretty new. She did a lot of head/face massage which I always find a little gross. The pedicures were really nice and the nail techs were all very attentive and sweet. The worst part was the tiny changing room that could only fit like 2 people at most and there were ten people in there at a time. Definitely not a relaxing experience. I'd go back for a pedicure or other service that didn't require the changing room but not a massage. Also pretty expensive for basic spa services. read more

Hi there, I used Blu Spa and Salon for my wedding party's hair and makeup. We are a pretty outdoorsy crowd who don't usually get dressed up but I was very pleased with our experience here. The scheduling staff was very responsive and informative in our communication leading up to the event. I had a few girls who did their own make up and were able to just be charged for the hairstyle. Our stylists were very personable and kept checking in with me on the look I was going for for my hair and the bridesmaids too. We didn't do a trial run but everything came out great the day of. My birthday was this past weekend and I decided to treat myself to a pedicure and massage. I'm newer to the Southtowns and had never been to Blu before. I received courteous reminders about my appointment and was greeted immediately when I arrived. I only waited around 2 minutes for my pedicure with Brittany. She was wonderful and my feet turned out great. I've had some in the past that seemed to smudge after an hour, but I have no complaints with this one. Then I had a 90-minute massage with Johanna which was wonderful. I recently had a luxury massage at a pricier spa in Niagara-on-the-Lake and this was just as good, if not better. Even the relaxation room was better. The whole experience was perfect. I'll definitely be a return customer! read more

My boyfriend gave me a gift card to here for my birthday, finally was able to use it today. I chose a lavender pedicure, and a gel manicure; absolutely amazing. Selena was so friendly and nice, very informed about her job with helpful tips and tricks to keep my nails and cuticles from being demolished with my job, and it being winter. I have another appointment to get my hair and makeup done with her on Monday and I am so very excited! I just started going to Blu Spa & Salon. I've had my hair cut here twice, both times by Tara. When you check in at the front desk, you're offered a beverage and the receptionist takes your coat. Then you wait in the waiting area, which has comfortable chairs and is very modern looking. I've always been called to my appointment on time, and Tara does a great job. She is easy to talk to, but doesn't force conversation like some stylists do. I get my hair cut about every six weeks, and I rarely go to the same place twice, but I think I'm here to stay. Tara provides consistent results, and I love the spa atmosphere. read more

Customer service, 5/5. Quality of nail service, 2/5. 3 stars overall. Had a Spawish gift certificate to use and there were only two places in the WNY Southtowns where I could redeem it. Blu Spa was one and I chose it based on recent positive Yelp reviews. Customer Service: I made an appointment for a gel pedicure and even though I was calling with less than a week before my vacation, I had a few appointment choices. Always nice to have some flexibility! I received a reminder call 24 hours before the scheduled date and they very easily accommodated my request to move the appointment back one more day to a Saturday morning. Clean, modern interior and decor though it seemed to be very open concept. I'm not sure where you would sit when waiting for a massage since I didn't have one but all of the spaces (main waiting area, mani/pedi chairs) I saw were shared. Not only did I arrive 10 minutes late for my appointment (and fearing subpar treatment because of that), I also brought along my 6 year old daughter unannounced AND did not process my Spawish gift card correctly before arriving (it was a 2 step process and had I actually read my voucher I would have seen it!!). Needless to say I was not their ideal customer when I walked through the doors :). Even with all of this against me, they were genuinely accommodating and kind. I did not feel rushed and the nail tech even took the time to paint my daughters toes. The receptionist helped me figure out the certificate issue with a smile on her face. Nail Service: Our technician was super friendly, great personality and was adorably chatty with my daughter (which she loved!) but unfortunately the quality of my pedi wasn't really up to par with those I've had in the past. First issue was that I made my appointment for a gel pedi since I wanted to be sure the polish would last my entire 10 day vacation. When the tech went to grab the polish I realized and asked whether it was gel and she confirmed no. I didn't bother with reminding her about the original appointment request since my daughter was with me and I figured might as well not take the extra time. Plus, I didn't know if there was any other prep we might have already missed. The massage and scrub were brief but fine. My main issue is that as soon as we got outside, took off our little toe separators & looked more closely at the polish, I was bummed. It looked like I had gotten my nails painted well over a week ago! Even my daughter commented on how her toes had hardly any sparkle :(. I told her it was because it was cloudy out, but she chose a sparkle-only polish and even though her toes are uber tiny, some of nails had only one of two sparkles on them. $10 for a polish application was a bit steep for what she got... could have definitely used multiple coats. My polish had multiple coats but is not all the way down to the cuticle, does not reach all sides of my nail beds and is choppy around the edges. Customer service alone will bring me back in to try another Pedi. Going to give them the benefit of the doubt that we were rushed through. read more

I was in town for an event. Megan did my hair and Brandi did my makeup. I have only one word to describe my experience - AMAZING!!! My hair is straight and it is very difficult to style and it always loses its fullness within the hour. Megan is a exceptional. My hair was beautiful, not only throughout the night but the next day too. If you want your hair done right, go to Megan. Brandi is an artist!!! My makeup was also perfect throughout the night and my skin looked great the next day. I live in Miami so blowouts and makeup applications are very expensive. I paid only $32 for the hair style and $45 for the makeup application. Usually I spend at least $75 on a blowout and $100 on makeup application. Bottom line-go to Blu Salon & Spa. I'm surprised at how many great nail reviews there are. I'm disappointed. My cuticles weren't done properly - leaving most of the cuticle skin still there. And the gel polish isn't all the way to the base of my nail- so it looks like I already have a week of growth when I just got them done today. I won't be back. Went with a group of 5 girlfriends. 4 of us did a package including massage, facial, lunch, mani and pedi. The spa was really nice the massage and facial was awesome! Lunch was good. Such a great day until the mani/pedi. I think I was the only one who had an AWFUL experience. All of the other technicians seemed to be really good and did a nice job The girl who did mine took double the time of everyone else and it was horrible. Barely touched my nails when filing and removing cuticles. (Which she didn't even do on my toes) polish is all over my fingers like a 5 yr old would do. Worst experience I've ever had and I get alot of manicures and pedicures. I was very unhappy and they thought taking 20% off the mani/pedi was a good solution. How about offering to redo the services??? Would've been 5 stars if it was just based on the massage and facial and experience before the bad services. Men... stopping looking like neanderthals! On a recent trip to western NY, I got my hair cut and beard trimmed by Moe at Blu Spa & Salon. Moe is a dedicated men's barber at the salon. This is unique to salons in the area. ALL he does in men's cuts and it shows in his attention to detail. After my cut I went to the mall and I had 2 ladies within an hour approach me and tell me they liked my beard. Blu is very comparable and attractively priced to salons I've encountered in Los Angeles and San Francisco. The staff I met at Blu were professional and devoted to their craft. I've gone to this salon twice or three times and the last time I left think my hair was perfect but the next day I was putting my hair up and I noticed the woman who did my hair chopped my baby hairs and bangs so short they stick up every time my hair is dryed.I've never used gel for my hair until I visited there for the last time .I am very disappointed especially for the money spent to get my hair done. read more
