My Blu home was built three years ago. I love it. It's a great product with a great design. My house is in Sun Valley, Idaho. Last year's winter was intense with record breaking snow. Unfortunately the extensive snow and ice, damaged the metal roof and snow retention system and the house's surrounding deck. Thanks to the Blu home warranty program, repair costs were promptly covered by Blu. The program not only saved me considerable cost, but gave (and gives) me peace-of-mind. Thank you Blu. Thank you, Blu Homes; and thank you specifically to my Project Manager Paul. Paul and team quickly acknowledged and promptly addressed an issue with my Balance home in Sun Valley, ID. While my last Yelp review was less than favorable, I'm so pleased now to share good news as the Blu team stepped up to the plate with a smile and professionalism. The cost of $585,000 is for the standard finishes and excludes: garages, decks, landscaping, sales tax, utilities' connection, land, foundation, permits, fees, etc. If you are lucky, you stop at a million dollar. Yes, they have a fancy configuration software that would help you configure your dream blu home, but we don't live in the Matrix! Computer generated images are all fine but if you don't have the skilled labor to execute, what good is it to me to buy expensive tile, cabinets, etc. if the execution is poor? read more

I've been a fan of Blu Homes, and I have been following their journey to the West Coast. They did have a great product that was within reach for the lil guy, in terms of getting a home that was something special, and unique. But how could you lower your base model prices for the 2015 year by 100k, and then raise them back more than 100k in almost the same year. This was done without a press release or anything. They just magically raised prices on the website without a word. I feel like they undermine the whole concept of pre-fab with their more than fabulous pricing. There are other prefab companies that are sticking with their price points, and coming up with really exciting models. Blu Homes just lost me as a potential customer, and I would be wary of their business practices if they can't stick to their own pricing. read more

We were excited to find out our favorite green builder - Blu Homes - was setting up an East Bay shop and building out a model home in Sonoma. After having the chance to visit on the launch day, we were extra excited over the possibility of such a home. We've slowly been following Blu Homes and comparing other green builders and prefab builders over the years. For the Bay Area, it's a bit more challenging to go the "saving money" argument regarding a green, prefab home. You're truly doing it for the quality of the green materials. The cost of land and the contract work of hooking up to your posh little region's utilities are usually what triples the price. Mind you, the building quality and design is still 10x better than what you get for the same price in the more posh burb and wine country communities. Staff is very detailed and friendly. Interesting floor plans and materials. Upgrade and customize as needed. Tour their Vallejo factory. Get onto their mailing list for open house opportunities. We toured the downtown Sonoma Breezehouse example (even the garage was lovely)! Check out their amazing community project in Novato as well. Kudos to those that go the green route. Now why people go out of their way to raise their family in isolated areas where you can't just hang out with the neighbor kids and have to drive your SUV to get to said play date is another topic. read more

What a great product! I went there this past Saturday for a factory tour and model home tour and was blown away by how cool and innovative these homes are. They are very well built and have so many great features like lots of windows and super tall ceilings. The sales people were very helpful and answered all the questions me and the wife had. I would like to see more of their models (they have 6 different). They only have the Breezehouse available to see. On a side note, Mare Island itself is a really unique place to visit. it is all post-industrial decay and almost totally abandoned (very eerie, but very cool to see). read more

Blu Homes are wonderful idea and the end product is beautiful. Definitely, go on a factory tour to see what you think for yourself. The production delivery has become smaller. And I continue to see improvements in the design and functionality. The end price still seems a little high, but if you want a turn key solution this option is worth exploring. read more

My wife and I purchased a Blu 'Balance' house, the first one of its design ever constructed, in the Spring of 2012. We did so nervously, since there was no existing example we could visit. When our house, which was manufactured in Blu's Vallejo, CA factory, arrived in Wisconsin, (the journey enabled on three ordinary semi trucks owing to Blu's MIT-trained engineers' innovative 'folding' technology) it came with a crew of six Blu craftspeople who expertly married it to our foundation and did the finish work over a period of six weeks. Living in it since has been a revelation. Though it is small in square feet (about 1750), it is designed to feel much, much larger and more spacious owing to its great ceiling heights and many tall glass doors, which bring the outside inside in, as it were. Interestingly, Blu does not include 'square feet" in its initial design presentation, because it realizes that you live in cubic, not square, feet. Finally, in a Blu house, which are not cheap, you absolutely get what your are paying for: our clear cedar siding is immaculate; and a refrigeration guy from Madison who came out to check our AC hook-up, looked it over and said: "You have the Rolls Royce of [AC] compressors." So, if you were embarking on a project to spend a half a million bucks on a home - and you already owned the land - and you called a builder, how would you react if they didn't call back? Normal response should be thank your lucky stars you found out early on they were unresponsive, and run away. But no, I thought perhaps there was a problem - things go wrong, after all. So I reached out a SECOND time, and was ignored again. BUYER BEWARE. I am a Blu Home Owner. As a real customer I can honestly tell you that this is THE worst purchase experience we have ever had to deal with our entire lives. It has taken us more than two-and-a-half years since we first engaged with Blu homes to get our house built, moved in to and until recently, we had not received our final Certificate Of Occupancy. We still have an extensive punch list that requires some major work with no end date in sight. And one of their big initial pitches was that you could dramatically reduce you time to move in. This has caused major stress and frustration to our entire family, let alone dramatically increased financial costs (much of which could have been avoided). It has tuned out be a very expensive and lengthy exercise. Do not be fooled by the marketing and sales hype. Their marketing and pre-sales efforts in our experience, was very slick and well orchestrated and the design of their products are really great. The website experience is up there and you do feel as though this will be an amazing experience. Unfortunately that's where it ends... Once we signed the order that's when things started going horribly wrong. In short, our view and experience is that their planning, project management, communication and build quality is awful and thats ultimately what led to the terrible and lengthy nightmare that we've had to endure and are still going through. We even paid a premium for a dedicated project manager, yet we found (and are still finding) items that were on the plans, that were either completely missed/overlooked or were done completely wrong - and we are complete laymen when it comes to home building. I could go on at length but will spare the details. Be sure to read the reviews form actual buyers, not people who have been watching or providing general opinions without having gone through the nightmare of purchasing a home from Blu Homes. PREFAB HOME? GOOD LUCK SELLING IT!!! USED PREFAB HOMES ARE WORTHLESS/TERRIBLE INVESTMENT. I was very interested in BLU homes until I did a little research on this company and inspected their homes in Healdsburg and Portola Valley, which are very poor quality! These homes do not look great when they are brand new, they will look terrible in 10 years! CHEAP! Prefab already has a bad reputation for poor build quality, after all these homes are so light you can load them on a truck! Their $2+ million dollar build in Healdsburg was on the market forever, I'm not sure if it ever sold. I do know its aging very poorly as the manufacture was very cheap to begin with. BLU even brags about how their homes are build like a car in a factory. Cars are cheap and have terrible resale value...bad investment, and bad marketing. About BLU: NEW COMPANY which started as a school project! STUDENTS NOT PROFESSIONALS. BLU may not be around in the future, their founder who I have met brags on the website about how many different companies he has founded, this seems like just another way for him to make money. He didn't even take the time to respond to my emails, looks like he is already losing interest in Prefab homes. THE PRICING: Good luck getting anything for under $1,000,000, you have to buy the lot, pay SALES TAX as its a manufactured item, and many more unexpected costs. Even their Architect admitted this type of construction/manufacturing will cost 10/30% more than traditional custom homes(Which have much higher resale value not to mention they are custom!!!). FIXED PRICING is possible as they are making so much off their customers to begin with! An architect and a builder usually do not have upfront fixed pricing as they want a good reputation and typically encounter more competition. And NO these are not HEALTHIER, SAFER, or in any way better for the environment. IF YOU HAVE TO BUY A PREFAB HOME FOR SOME STRANGE REASON, maybe more money than brains? Use a reputable company with a long history or at least unique designs. I would Recommend Stillwater homes or Method homes, they have something unique to offer, better quality and better prices! We own a Blu Home. Our prime motive for choosing blu was the price - we had been quoted almost double from an architect to go through the process of building a house in our area out on long island. We chose blu homes not only for price, but also because they had smart designs, good use of space and good use of natural light and a modern design. On the path to purchasing the home we interviewed a number of contractors and also had a similar conversation about being able to build a home cheaper out of standard brick & motor. It was tempting but at the end of the day we could see a well designed architectural house and how it would work on our property. I'm sure a contractor may well have been able to live up to his claim, but would it be the house we wanted ? How to convey the idea of "bringing the outside world in" to the contractor ? This did not seem an easy, straight forward task. We could see how the blu home worked. The architectural plan showed a good use of space and the floor to ceiling wall of windows in the main room brought in the views we wanted. So we went ahead and purchased the blu home and we have not regretted it for a moment. Blu delivered exactly what they promised. There have been small issues but blu has always come through and they have gained our trust. Considerations when budgeting ( and blu homes will go through these with you), keep in mind the ancillary costs of building a house. The price we were quoted by the local architect included all these costs - of bringing water in, septic tank , exterior decking, basement, and contractor's fee. The Blu Home is just that - the home. The final cost of the Blu Home still came in considerably less than we had been quoted for the area - and its a neat modern designed house ! read more

I normally do not like giving bad reviews but Blu Homes earned this one. Here is my story: I went to a Blu Homes open house in Joshua Tree National Park back in June of this year (2013). Very nice. I signed one of their BluServ Purchase Orders and gave them a down payment. I read the fine print, but I was verbally reassured I would not be charged any extras until we started the actual work. Then the problems started. They asked for thousands of extra dollars for designs, processing permits, etc. Every time I had a question I had to wait from days to weeks for an answer. And then the very knowledgeable Blu Homes contractor I started working with got fired. When I contacted the contractor he gave me an insider's view of Blu Homes that was not pretty to say the least. I basically lost confidence that Blu Homes could build the house they claimed they were going to build, especially when they said it would take a year to build a house that would normally take 4 months to build using traditional building techniques. When I tried to cancel my contract I found out that the verbal reassurances I had been given about not getting charged went out the window. I ended up paying thousands of dollars for the privilege of chatting with them about the possibility of buying one of the their houses. In short, their sample homes looks good but their execution leaves a lot to be desired, at least right now. Hopefully they will get their act together in the future and be able to build the quality homes they claim they can build. In the mean time my recommendation is to find a good and reputable contractor that can build something as good, if not better, for a fraction of the cost, in less than half the time. read more

Although I have really enjoyed Blu Homes, I have to say that their customer service is so sub par they have lost a million dollar sale. First issue that I had: I emailed one of the sales agents that I met in the Redwood City location (yes, I had the correct email I know because I replied to a message she sent me). No response...ever Second issue: I was signed up to attend the home visit in Sonoma and we showed up prior the ending time for a bus to take us over to the home. Their were others waiting at the high school for the bus (some for over 30 minutes). The bus never showed. We all called the events line, but the after hours service was no help at all. "her - Are you at the right place?; me - yes we are all at the location on the invitation; her - I'll send an emergency note" We never heard anything again. Second part to this issue is that I also called the number of the sales person in redwood city. We never heard anything from her. Third issue: After this fiasco of the home showing, Blu Homes never contacted us to apologize. To me, this is unacceptable in customer service. I have concerns about if I were to purchase a home, how Blu Homes would respond to any issues. We just don't feel comfortable spending that much money on a company that can't even get the basics of sales pitches right...you treat the customer right and you follow up. read more

I've been following Blu Homes for a while and loved the designs on their website. However, I wasn't sure, being prefab, whether their homes were going to be high quality. Most of the prefab homes I've seen elsewhere have been more like temporary homes or "tiny houses" that are really cool and fun, but probably aren't what I'd want to buy as a permanent home. I finally visited a Blu Home up in Healdsburg and was amazed by the finish quality. The house is one of their Breezehouses located on a hilly lot with a gorgeous view of vineyards. When I walked up to it, I could tell it was their home because of the distinctive design, but it was hard to imagine that the home was built in a factory. First of all, it was a really spacious, two-story home that had a big garage, small garden, and even a guest home in the back. The cabinetry, appliances, and all the detailed drywall and tile work was really beautifully done. Really quite incredible considering that it was built just in a few months. I had watched a video of the Blu Homes team putting up a home in less than 28 hours. I was surprised at some of the sophisticated appliances and technology they were able to incorporate into the home once I visited the Breezehouse in person (i.e., solar panels, heated floors, etc.) After seeing this home, I highly recommend visiting one of these homes because it really gives you a good sense of how the home looks in person. When I went to the open house, I was also treated to the company of Alice Waters, a prominent chef known for spearheading local, fresh, and organic cooking. She talked about sustainable living and how Blu Homes modeled their homes after this ethos with their emphasis on being green. read more

Some things to consider regarding the reviews from Steve and Dana... First let me say that I have no experience working with Blu, I've never spoken to Blu, seen any of Blu's work first hand, or have any other affiliation. However, my experience in the area of sustainability, residential energy efficiency, and construction lends some perspective. I've been in numerous multimillion dollar fully custom builds where precision and perfection were lacking. To a large degree this comes with the territory. If you look at any build close enough you will find numerous imperfections. ...some are better hidden than others. That said, Blu is in the position to exploit greater controls and systematization, so they should be able to eliminate more of these issues. I hope that with time their process will be refined to achieve ever greater quality. At the end of the day, humans are doing the work no matter how the house is built and humans are not perfect, so the product is not going to be perfect. Similarly, the more raw/natural the materials used (often the sustainable option), the less perfect the job will be, because they are inherently inconsistent. Are we comparing apples to apples with cost comparison? Not any builder can build a LEED certifiable house. This is a specialty and like other specialties, it commands a premium. This class of home necessitates superior design work, supplemental materials, premium materials, fixtures, and appliances (with specific performance standards that frequently surpass those of well known, high end brands), and additional processes. This all adds significant cost to the project. If you can find a local builder that can deliver a LEED certifiable product, with an equivalent design, a comparable warranty, similar level of service (including being hands off and headache free), and the same speed of delivery using all legal labor with more precision/quality (in your eyes) and a better price, then you should probably go with that option. I discovered blue Homes through one of my favorite magazines: DWELL. I love modern design and the clean lines of the exterior elevations of the Breeze house seen in DWELL and Sunset Magazine. The thought of having a well design prefab made sense for a second/vacation home. When blu setup manufacturing on Mare Island in Vallejo I signed up in order to view their facilities and see part of the construction process. I was a little underwhelmed with the finish work of some sample modules, but thought these are just samples of what can be done. Fast forward to today to view a nearly completed home in Healdsburg. Invite was to meet at the High School with no mention of where the home was. Parking lot was filled with others wondering what was going on and the only phone number for blu went to voicemail that was full, not accepting any messages. 20 minutes of waiting and a shuttle arrives. A few minutes later we arrive to view a beautiful lot with new built blu Home. Exterior finish work was mediocre at best. Hardy board wasn't level and many gaps existed. Entering on a chilly day into an energy efficient dwelling without heat not such a good idea. Home was not staged and many punch list items undone. Ikea cabinets in kitchen and bath were so poorly assembled it looked like something I would have done. I'm not handy at all. Light switches were cheap and flimsy. Cutting corners on cost, when the price of entry level is averaging 375 sq' installed, plus sales tax. Yup, since it's manufactured you pay an additional 8.75%. For the same amount per sq' you could build pure custom with any material and toss in sub zero and wolf for the kitchen. Anyone considering blu homes should talk with a reputable architect and contractor and weigh the option of custom to prefab. read more

I started engaging with Blu Homes on a new home project in early 2013. After working through custom home designs with a local architect and cost estimating my project in late 2012 with various contractors, I knew it was time to further investigate what Blu has to offer from an end-to-end product and process. My first interaction with Blu was in late 2010 and I've been keeping close to their progress around funding, building tech/model updates, and team but not until I took the leap to purchase a lot did Blu's value proposition make complete sense. Actions speak louder than words, so we (my wife and I) toured the Blu factory and walked through a completed Blu home in a residential location. All in all the product quality and attention to building detail that we saw exceeded what was possible with an on-site custom build home. Also the style and objective of Blu's home models align well with our desired design aesthetic and eco-friendly approaches which are practical and realistic. So, we decided to move forward with Blu into a conceptual design phase to adapt a Blu home to our lot. Goals were set for our project (what we wanted in a home), Blu gathered initial details on City code, and we drove hard and fast to develop a design package. During this phase, we were collaborating efficiently with Blu and making design trade-offs effectively since our lot is not flat and big. Also we found out along the way that our City pays close attention to neighbor input to new home design as well as home design continuity with the rest of the neighborhood. These City process and code findings were challenging at first to understand but Blu was able to adapt a home model design to our lot that not only achieves our goals but also to what the City and neighborhood wants to see. We are in the Design Review process right now with Blu and our City with the objective to gain design approval soon before moving into the Building permitting phase. In general, to-date Blu has been fantastic to work with and I feel like my family and Blu are working as one team to get my project through to the next phase. To really make any new home project work I've learned it not only takes motivation from all parties but also continued combined optimism plus creativity to evolve the project's vision as needed. I'll update this review as we hit major milestones in our project since I don't feel like a standard Yelp review like we do for a dinner out or equivalent can cover all phases of a partner/company decision to plan and execute on a such a major life event as a new home. I've followed Blu for years and have liked their designs, but I always thought they were expensive for prefab. But 2016, the prices went through the roof! (They now include site development). Now, you can almost always find a nice house in the community that will cost you less than buying land and building with Blu. Why pay more to get a cookie cutter house? And failing. They've had very good press (Sunset mag, Dwell mag, etc.) but the increasing costs for what is basically a pre-fab plus a company with processes in disarray are pushing me to another, more reliable solution. read more

We just moved into our new Blu Home (combination of a Balance and Origin) and it is wonderful. Great views from every room and the house is super insulated - it stays warm through the night even with the cold weather now. Other than the previous reviewer, my experience "post placement" was quite positive - we had a lot of custom construction in between the Balance and Origin and inside the modules so there was often a crew onsite and the project management was very responsive to my inputs. Once the construction was done and we were left with a punch list of small items to fix, they rapidly worked them off the list. They even replaced the 6' bath tub in the custom section for a smaller one (my wife slipped under water in the larger one). The one thing that was disappointing was that it took quite a bit longer from placement to move-in than originally planned (1.5 years) - a domino effect from the large amount of customization that also caused extra cycles with the county planning dept. Fortunately I had this fixed price deal with Blu ("Blu Serv Plus") so in my case, as the saying goes for custom construction, it took almost 2X the time but for me only 1x the price. They stood by their word. Notwithstanding the delayed move-in, the experience of living in my Blu home is so overwhelmingly positive that I have to give it 5*. Highly recommended! read more

What the team can accomplish in a short duration of time is amazing but what is more amazing is the team that I had the opportunity to work with on the project. The Sales teams in Northern and Southern California are some of the most dedicated and hard-working folks I have met in the construction industry. They helped us at Homeward Bound of Marin come up with incredible modern designs for our affordable housing complex for homeless families. The principals were supportive throughout our design process, and though we weren't able to utilize the Blu Homes product because of some constraints on our land, they were an essential design partner and their stunning architecture makes for beautiful, well-lit contemporary spaces. read more

I am compelled to write a review of Blu since only ONE of the reviews shown was someone who actually bought and completed a house from Blu. I did, and have been living in my Balance model home for 2 months. I will not go into every detail, but there definitely were a few issues that had to be fixed, namely my tub had to be replaced as it was terribly scratched and the surrounding glass tile was installed with a grout color I was not asked to choose. Luckily they redid the whole thing and it is now beautiful, though it was challenging to get them to agree to do it. But they did. Up until the tub situation we had great working relationship and all contracts, costs, surface choices, engineering, etc was as explained and expected. Yes there is alot of paperwork, but you have to remember these people are very corporate. Yes you do have to wait for decisions since it has to go through levels of management. The benefit to this is that their word is in stone. Very corporate. Our foundation was designed as a complete lower level with many sliding doors going out, the Blu Balance model would be placed on top. Our property is sloped and previously undeveloped, meaning we had to get EVERYTHING done...septic, power, major water mitigation, etc. (this is not for the faint of heart!) SInce we lived 8 hrs away by car we were not sure HOW we would manage it until Blu came up with their BluServe program, which is were you can hire them to essentially manage the whole project. We had already found an awesome contractor for all the ground work grading, digging, septic, driveway, so Blu let us work with that contractor directly and they hired everyone else for the foundation, etc. Blu also did the engineering plans, etc for our lower level and the costs were not great. Understand I am a normal working professional, not wealthy, and I looked at all the costs carefully as I put my life savings into this thing! The benefit again of the corporate style is that once they got quotes for all the various line items, and They signed it, and We signed, we knew EXACTLY how much it was going to be... no surprises, no monkey business, not their style. There was one or two additional costs along the way from changes, and these were also clear and signed off on. Also I should say I am a designer and artist so I have a sensitive eye, and I feel the quality of this home is excellent. It is impossible to build any home and not have a scratch on a cabinet door or something, but they replaced whatever was not perfect from their own punch list. I felt our project manger was very particular and had our back (esp. with tub issue). If not for the tub thing, I would give them five stars, and that issue was due to poor management/workmanship in the factory by people that have all been replaced by now. Call it growing pains, call it corporate cats learning to be contractors, but Ultimately they built an amazing house for less than would have been stick build method. As an owner of a Blu home all I can say is that it is a keeper. We picked the spot on a beautiful Northport Maine lake and Blu took over. They dealt with local contractors who fought them tooth and nail and won them over. Made sure every t was crossed and i was dotted with the locals and state. They painstakingly made sure the house fit down a mile long winding camp road. Had the houses in on time and on budget without all of the fuss and muss of weather or overcharges. As good as their word every scratch was patched, every defect was made perfect even months after we took the keys. Going on our third year the house is not just beautiful but extremely functional and tight as a drum. They designed a house in such a way that when we leave for the winter we turn a valve and a key and it is shut down- as simple as that. Blu is the first builder (and we have had a lot of them) that we fell in love with. They did everything we asked for and much, much more. In three words- They spoiled us. read more

Although I'm not really a home builder, I have built two spec homes in Upstate NY in the past, and for my third home I chose Blu Home's "Breezehouse". Many qualities and attributes attracted me to a Blu Home, not least of which was the ability to build a quality home without being inundated, and sometimes overwhelmed, by the literally thousands of details related to building a stick-built home. Blu precision-builds your home in an indoor, controlled environment, using first class materials, installing [your choice of] cabinetry, tiling, countertops, fixtures, appliances, and plumbing and wiring,etc. They fold up the finished home, truck it to your prepared house site, unfold it, and three or four weeks later, it's in move-in condition. All at a fixed, predetermined price. On top of that, you have many beautiful, modern home designs at different price levels to choose from that are environmentally friendly, energy efficient, and thoughtfully planned for contemporary living. As well as, usually, a smart, dedicated and responsive professional to help make the process as painless as possible. A Blu Home is not a cheap alternative to a conventionally built home. Costs can mount, especially if you choose the high-end options. You may or may not save money over a conventional house. But I believe there are many advantages that Blu Homes has to offer, and these should be carefully considered by anyone interested in building their own contemporary home, and willing to take on the [not light or inconsequential] responsibility of site preparation. read more

Beware of the BluHomes building allure and promotional deals they offer. You will be disappointed in them, as I have been. I planned on having a hand in designing and building a home for my golden years. I was hooked by an initial promotional deal. The gal who was a coordinator flew down to meet me where I lived to go over details with me. I liked her a lot and would probably have gone the distance with her, if she hadn't been "let go", which I didn't find out until later after working with the architect and plans for the house. we got as far as the Conceptual Design Study. My brother (who flew in from the east Coast) joined me and we went to Vallejo to the show room site, which ended up being a debacle. At this point, we found out I had two new people working for me. The architect no longer worked for them either. So, I started calling the boss, which seemed to get results. But here is some sound advice that I have learned from a friend: if you have to call the boss repeatedly, which I did and used e-mail too, you are going to keep calling the boss. I never heard back from him via e-mail with my concerns. I have never built a house, only remodeled a couple of places and was looking forward to the experience. I have never written a negative review, but if it helps inform someone who is "on the fence" about the company, hop off that fence I say and go get yourself a good team who you can trust and work with happily, because it is supposed to be a fun adventure. read more

After attending the completed feasibility study presentation at Blu Homes Vallejo factory, my wife and I decided that we couldn't move forward with the construction of a Blu home on our parcel of land in Napa, CA which is located only 36 miles from their factory. We couldn't justify paying the estimated projected price of more than $600,000 for two small adjoining, prefabricated, modular, Origin pods (total of 1266 square feet) that also included a charge of $42,450 for a carport. It may be a premium product, but in our opinion, too pricey!q read more

This company is deceptive beyond belief. We completely discounted using them for our next house as their prices have doubled over the past two years. We told them no based on their ever increasing pricing structure. They contacted us again saying that they have revised their pricing to a more "affordable" level, however, when we asked what the revised pricing was, they said we had to come to their model home/factory to find out. When we got there they told us that their pricing was again going up, but that (somehow....magic I guess) they were calculating that their price per square foot had actually gone down thus the more "affordable" claim. These guys are unbelievably greedy, pretentious douche bags. Buyer beware.....you need to include the price of the land, their "project management fee", their out-of-the-Bay Area fee" if you want to live anywhere outside of the immediate Bay Area, the cost of the foundation, the cost of any upgrades that are not their standard offerings, decking is extra, the garage is extra.
