Okay I have to edit my review after I gave this place another chance today The barista recommended tiramisu coffee and it was delicious! Now that is discontinued so I get the banana pudding latte. I'm glad I gave them a second chance

I stopped by this tea place to get my wife a drink since I was already in the plaza this store is in for a Yelp event next door. I found parking just fine but parking can be hard to find depending on when you come. When I walked inside, all the workers greeted me. I look at their menu and called my wife. She said the passionade and fruit tea looked good but I should ask which one they recommend. The lady working the cashier recommend the passionade so I got a large one and asked for light ice. The place isn't that big inside. They made my order quick and I went to the other side to pick it up. I took it home and my wife loved her drink. It wasn't too sweet or plain and they put light ice like I asked.

Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Pretty decent boba shop near my house. I got boba milk tea and it was classic, I saw a lot of customers in line and also people hanging out inside. Seems like they are known for their matcha drinks. I will have to come back here and try more of their drinks.

    Banana Pudding Latte Vietnamese Coffee
    Stephanie B.

Cute place, nice staff but I would go elsewhere for specialty coffee; it was very sweet w/o the coffee flavor. Great flavor on the banana latte but it's more of a dessert rather than a coffee & the Vietnamese coffee didn't have that bold coffee taste that it should; didn't even finish my drink because of how underwhelming it was.. Maybe their boba drinks are good but I would not come here for coffee.

Mango coconut slush drink with boba

I've been twice to this spot in the valley. The spot is in a small parking plaza with ample parking. Overall, BLTea is more of a social spot versus a working spot, but we were able to chill there for a few hours on our laptops. The first visit, I tried their mango coconut drink (actually not sure if they still have it) and an Oreo cookie (not pictured). Both items were solid! During this second visit I tried the banana cream matcha with oat milk and the cream cheese Oreo milk tea. Drinks are solid, and I'm particularly impressed with the matcha. Matcha lovers know boba-centered spots don't particularly have the best matcha, as their focus is on overall drinks. But the matcha here is earthy, not bitter, and meshes well with the fun toppings. Don't expect the best matcha of your life or expect a matcha like those in Koreatown, but it's solid. This second visit, I believe we snagged the only outlet behind the plants and non-working self-service kiosk, so keep that in mind. Service is good but it can get busy and I saw some other folks waiting a while. They also have a stamp card! Overall, great spot in the valley and will definitely be back!

    Carrot Cake Latte

I've been to BLTea a couple of times and have always had a pleasant experience. Service is great and staff is friendly and attentive. It can get busy so sometimes drinks take a little longer to come out, but the quality is still there! I really love the seasonal drinks they offer, like the carrot cake latte. There is some room to sit and study or catch up with friends, and it's very nicely decorated. Will definitely keep coming back to try all the different drinks!

4.5 stars Drinks are easily 5-star worthy--super delicious, vibrant, and smooth. I'd definitely return when I'm in the area. Great variety, and they offer vegan/non-dairy milk, which is a plus. Be prepared to wait if it's busy. The place gets packed, and with limited seating, the stand-and-wait time can be long, which is where the .5 star deduction comes in. Staff was busy but still friendly, with minimal interaction.

    Strawberry dubai mochi cookie

I was on the hunt for a quick bite and coffee. I came across this little gem. I originally wanted something savory but upon entering I noticed they had a Dubai mochi cookie. I ordered that and a Vietnamese coffee. They were both delicious and I returned 4 times within 2 weeks to grab the Dubai mochi cookie. The service was fast and friendly. They offered to cut the mochi cookie for me. It was clean and quite cute inside. I can't wait to go back to try other drinks. I'm sad that they will no longer offer the Dubai mochi delight!

Tiramisu Latte & Sesame Fresh Milk
    Mary A.

BLTea is a great spot! We've been here before and always have a good experience. I highly recommend their matcha, especially the coconut matcha cold foam, which is my usual go-to. Today, we tried the iced sesame fresh milk and the iced tiramisu coffee latte. The drinks came out super fast, which we appreciated. The black sesame flavor was strong and nutty, but the drink itself wasn't overly sweet or heavy, exactly how I prefer it! It will definitely be my new go-to order. The tiramisu latte was on the sweeter side, but the coffee flavor still came through and tasted great. They even add a piece of tiramisu on top, which was cool! For the large size, the prices are reasonable. Parking is easy since there's a lot, although it can fill up pretty quickly during busy times.

I found BLTea accidentally, I guess you can say. I was on my way to get coffee but the spot I was going to was closed. Undeterred, I went on Yelp to search for a nearby coffee place and one of the results was BLTea. So I quickly looked through their Yelp page to see what they had before driving over. When I got there the girl at the counter was incredibly friendly. She helped me decide on my Pistachio coffee with Espresso with the matcha cake. She also helped me decide that the next time I visit and there will be a next time I am going with a matcha drink and ube cheese Wait, I have gotten ahead of myself. My coffee had a great flavor and my dessert was incredibly moist; delicious! I am looking forward to going back!!

Snowy peaches and pumpkin earl grey
    Austin K.

Tried more things: - the snowy peaches: made with actual peaches and blended together. Not very sweet, and perhaps I should have gotten it during peach season. It has caffeine from the jasmine tea - pumpkin earl grey: a nice blend and you certainly get both flavors - earl grey salted egg cookie: I liked the egg better as part of the milky moon. You can't combine rewards cards, so don't forget to bring them. Also, the strawberry milk has jam, not fresh strawberries, just to know.

    Jessica L.

I love love LOVEEE this drink so much!!! The first time I came, I got a Creme Sugar brûlée drink with boba and it was so good too!!! Perfect for someone with a sweet tooth!!! The staff is nice and welcoming when you walk in, and they got cute little decorations up!!! I also tried their Hawaiian cream cheese garlic bread and it was good too, but I didn't get a chance to take a picture

    Banana Pudding matcha Latte

I am so disappointed in this place and the issues started as soon as I walked up to the cashier. I was second in line and there was no greeting from the Hispanic girl taking orders. She had a serious attitude with all three of us in line and I definitely noticed. I really don't know how a place like this hired her. She mumbled things after I placed my order and just stood there leaning to one side without even caring about providing even decent customer service. At lest the other girl working (Asian girl making drinks) was kind enough to say "have a nice day" with a smile as I got my order It took 15 minutes for my drink since it seemed like NOTHING was prepped. The two girls kept throwing and banging things while running back and forth from the main prep area to the two back rooms. Now for the let down on my order. I asked for the Banana Pudding matcha Latte with light ice. The ice request was followed which I appreciate. But the matcha was not mixed well and tasted super watery. As for the "banana pudding" aspect, it doesn't make much sense. There's hardly any banana flavor except for a small dime size piece of banana mixed in. The rest was just whipped cream with crushed nilla wafer cookies. And the lid isn't really ideal because the opening is so wide that you can't drink it like a normal lid. I wasn't given a straw but there was a spoon in my drink (which I thought was a straw until I got to my car) and I just have to wonder who is scooping out whipped cream to eat from this drink? You go anywhere else with some sort of cream/foam top and you're supposed to let the topping mix with the drink as you take sips. Eating whipped cream doesn't really make sense. As for the ube basque cheesecake, it was definitely over baked and had a decent cheesecake flavor but hardly ube flavor. The color is gorgeous but it's not worth it. $16 for this pairing just thrown out.

    Ask the Community - BLTea

    Is it dog friendly?

    They don't have outdoor seating

Is this a good place to do work for a couple hours, or is it not geared for that?

Yes it's really nice. When I visited it was calm and they have some outdoor tables as well as indoor seating. I could totally see myself working there for a few hours.

Do they have any caffeine free options other than just the straight berry tea? I love boba style drinks but am highly allergic to caffeine and I feel like I'm missing out per lots of boba and milk tea loving friends. Help?

Thanks for asking. Our non caffeinated drinks are berry tea, black sugar boba milk, strawberry milk, ube, signature brush stroke, and kumquat koko. Hope this answering your question

There's a Trader Joe's and Chili's across the street with more parking as well and I have parked behind Dave's Hot Chicken and the Habit and there is always space there. Ambiance: This coffee shop is quaint and feels a little cramped when you finally get inside and through the line. There is a counter top with some chairs as well as one couch and desk where one can study although, I personally never would. It's clean and bright with a minimalistic vibe inside. With it being cramped, you basically just get in, order, and get out. It's rare to find seating inside and it can feel overwhelming just sitting there trying to enjoy your drink with so many people around. Drinks: We've been there multiple times and you can always expect the same- mid, slightly overpriced, oh- getting some post purchase clarity. But it's the type of slightly regretful decision we continue to make every time. We've gotten the matcha einspanner on several occasions, vanilla iced latte, caramel latte, and the most disgusting Americano known to man. Whether you get the dark or light roast Americano, you will not run away from the burnt and bitter flavor. Service: The line moves quickly, they take your order and get you in and out without a long wait. They also offer stamp cards, buy 10 get the 11th free. What a steal! Gimme 10 more! Overall: All this to say, it's oddly grown to be a valley staple, and represents some bordering LA values- overpriced, overhyped, but for some reason addicting in the fact you always seem to go back. I would say 3.5 but it doesn't allow it, so I'm feeling generous today.
