It still had a nice sweetness and was easy to drink, but if you're someone who really appreciates strong, authentic matcha, this might fall a bit short. Viet Coffee with Sea Salt Foam ($6.25) - 7.5/10 My sister ordered this at 50% sweetness, which ended up being a great choice since 100% would likely be overpowering. The sea salt foam added a nice creamy contrast that balanced the drink well. However, it didn't quite capture the rich taste of traditional Vietnamese coffee and instead tasted more like a sweeter, standard iced coffee. Still good, just not very authentic in flavor. The Nutty Latte ($6.75) - 4/10 This one wasn't for me at all. The texture was extremely thick and chunky, making it difficult and honestly unpleasant to drink. It felt like drinking straight peanut butter mixed with milk, and the chunks would sometimes get stuck in my throat. It also didn't resemble a latte in either texture or taste. So my actual drink was good but my experience ordering wasn't good :/ I ordered ahead of time so that when I got there I could just go in and grab my Honeydew Slush but after 15 mins, my order wasn't ready yet. I started to wonder if there was only one person making all the drinks? There's one kiosk where you can order and every now and then someone will come out from the curtains to bring out orders. Just a weird set up and very slow service. The place is busy with CSUN students which is cool but almost 30 mins for 1 drink is way too long! Especially when I ordered ahead of time. Located in a strip mall with lots of parking, The Ice Bar is the best place to go hang with friends, grab a refreshing drink or bunker down to study for hours on end. I've done all 3 of the aforementioned things on many occasions. I keep it simple & always order the Plain Fresh Green tea, it always comes out ice cold & consistently tastes great. There's a self serve kiosk if you don't feel like ordering with an employee but the employees always seem happy to help & answer any questions I have. My wife and I have been here a few times with one of our friends, usually we come here after leaving the sushi place, which is a few minutes away. Stuff are good, you can order on the screen and they have plenty of space. First time we came here, the place was empty, which was good as it was not loud, the second time it was really busy with many college students studying, and they have plenty of drinks, all good taste. I had the best experience here, heather was so helpful and nice. The ambiance is very cool, lots of seating and I love that there is a touchscreen order screen for fast and easy ordering. I tried the strawberry milk tea which was amazing! If you like how milk tea tastes you'll love this as much as I did. It's a true milk tea flavor with a hint of strawberry. 10/10! I also had the chicken popcorn which was perfectly cooked, perfectly crispy, crunchy, and golden. I had it with ranch on the side. 10/10! Lastly, I had the strawberry dalgona with the matcha foam. The BEST drink I've ever had, truly. The whipped dalgona with strawberry flavoring was so good alone but with the thick matcha foam on top, it was even better. Staff is pretty welcoming and friendly. Seating area is clean and each booth has an outlet. Most of the drinks I've had here have been great, though the smoothies could use some work as I feel like the flavors are too artificial. My go-tos are the Banana Foam Matcha and the Jasmine Tea. On August 14th at 11:30 PM, we were hoping to enjoy some boba and decided to visit Ice Bar, as they were open until midnight. We ordered an oolong milk tea, a sea salt jasmine tea, and a taro milk tea. Unfortunately, the oolong milk tea seemed rather diluted, and the sea salt jasmine tea was over beyond salty. We didn't get the chance to try the taro the same day because we assumed it is going to be horrible. When we got the chance it was diluted as well. So, I called to complain and talked to the manager. She said the sea salt is supposed to be salty. Since we didn't drink the taro that night, we can't get a refund or exchange because tea sets?????? I never had this issue at Ice Bar. Very much a college area location. They offer different discounts with specific criteria periodically, but offers can't be combined. If you're a student or have a student, take advantage of that discount. I had their Taro Milk Tea and it was quite good, perfectly sweet. I also enjoyed their Popcorn Chicken, seasoned well, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Portions are pretty good too. There are several booths to eat at but they can get taken up pretty quickly depending on the time of day. The service was helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, at the time that we went, they were playing very loud heavy metal music and it was driving me crazy. I know I'm getting up there in age, but I feel like any normal person would just want moderate volume and maybe more a neutral sounding music? LOL! On September 1st, I had an extremely troubling experience at this location with the manager on duty, Carl. When I arrived, no staff were at the front counter, and because the restroom requires a code, I went through an unlocked side door to ask for assistance. As soon as I politely asked for the restroom code, Carl immediately became hostile, yelling and telling me to "get the fu#k out", effectively kicking me out without any valid reason. I explained that I had already placed an order and asked about my refund. Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, he again said, "Don't come at me like that, bro," in a rude and threatening tone. He refused to provide a receipt and only said that my refund would be credited back to my card in three days. Carl's conduct was aggressive, vulgar, and completely unacceptable, especially for someone in a managerial position. His behavior created a hostile and intimidating environment for me as a customer, for no legitimate reason. Being kicked out for politely asking for assistance is not only unprofessional but also reflects very poorly on the business. I strongly urge Ice Bar management to take immediate action and seriously consider terminating Carl's employment. Staff who behave in this way are damaging the reputation of your business and putting customers at risk of being treated aggressively or unfairly. my friend loves this place so we went after dinner. I had it once and didn't think much of it but thought I should give it another chance since she was saying good things about it it's located next to a baskin robbins and the parking lot is a bit small, but I don't think people stay there too long so finding a parking spot was easy we ordered on a self-serve kiosk inside and there were lots of options to choose from! My friends and I decided to go for a late night boba run in the valley when we stumbled upon this boba shop. It was the only one open until midnight and pretty much all of the seating was still filled by university students at around 11:30pm. The location is in the pocket of a small shopping center in the valley. Parking was easy to find right in front of the shop. At first, we were surprised that there were no screens exhibiting the menu or showing any visual representations of the drinks. However, they have a long list of drinks to choose from and a great variety. My friends and I opted for the 'Strawberry Taro with Boba' and 'Strawberry Green Tea with Boba' The Strawberry Taro with Boba was yummy! It definitely tasted like powdered taro but it was still great. I believe the strawberry was just strawberry syrup drizzled in the cup. We were delighted to taste the boba fresh at 30 minutes til closing as we've had experiences at other shops where the boba is very dull and hard hours before closing. The Strawberry Green Tea with Boba was also yum! The green tea wasn't too strong and the strawberry definitely balanced it out. The only complaint I would have is that the milk tea's had too much ice, maybe ask for light ice when you order. The night staff was very rude and discriminatory. They are basically cruel towards the disabled. Led by a very rude white guy with a baseball hat and an Asian whether his coworker or supervisor. They both had an issue with me about sitting down at 1 of the tables like most customers with socks on and no shoes. I only did so while seated. Not walking in bar or away from my table. Meanwhile or same time, they were OK and allowed all the other customers to walk in sit down wearing no shoes, only flip flops and sandals and no socks no problem! please explain to me the difference. I'm perhaps too naive to understand your nonsense about this. The super rude white guy who wear a baseball hat all the time (who said his hat or that baseball wear he wore was even clean or sanitary enough knowing he wore all the time huh!) so he had the audacity to tell me that it wasn't ok for me to wear socks only and insisted on wearing shoes that i had off while seated only. But he was so OK so oblivious to the fact that there were other customers in the store at the same time wearing no shoes not even socks. Meanwhile, all their customers were allowed and OK with those 2 the white baseball guy and the Asian 1, both of of them allowed and had no issue with other customers to walk in in flip flops only or sandals only, no socks and definitely no shoes. Their nonsense reasoning was that me in socks less sanitary than others bare feet or no socks not even shoes. Either this was just completely biased or discrimination based or they think I am perhaps a dummy or will buy into their absurdity that others or other customers with no shoes no socks whatsoever was OK and no sanitation issue whatsoever but I'm probably the Ugly Duckling with dirty feet even in socks. I should be condemned and ridiculed for my bad socks on feet. Don't you think?! If you have such problem, then impose it on everyone. If you aren not welcoming to the disabled or do not want someone or a customer to be inside with no socks or shoes on then the ones that you let in with flip flops and sandals only shouldn't be allowed either. Otherwise you are just being a hypocrite double standard and come across as either racist or cruel towards the disabled. How come those in the photos make any difference than myself and on the contrary I keep socks on while they are bare foot or bare feet here inside your bar. Are you just hating on me for my race or color? Or just purely hypocrite or utter double standard AKA BS???!!!
