2 meat plates with street corn, beans, Mac n cheese, potato salad and cobbler

We absolutely love Blowin Smoke BBQ and drive 50 minutes just to eat there! We have nothing but positive things to say about this awesome restaurant and the wonderful owners, Nick & Malissa. They are the heart of this business and make sure that everyone feels welcomed and has a good experience here. The food...OMG....is the best BBQ we have ever eaten. The brisket is so tender and flavorful. Melts in your mouth! The sausage, ribs, pulled pork...yummy! My favorite sides are the street corn and Mac n cheese but the potato salad and beans are delish too! Their Texas Twinkies look good and I will try them one day. I forgot to mention the BBQ stuffed baked potatoes!! So good! You will be pleasantly surprised at how amazing this place is!

Ribs, brisket, Gouda Mac and cheese, beans and an oatmeal sandwich!

Food was good but portions were very small for the very high price. This was a one and done for us unfortunately.

My partner had the brisket sandwich with potato salad and a small helping of pickles and pickled red onions and I had the pulled pork tacos. My partner said the brisket sandwich was okay, but we both agreed that the potato salad was fantastic! The potato salad was way better than the one at Pappas Barbecue. The taste of the pulled pork tacos was great, but it was honestly too wet and made the flour tortillas too soggy and there was way too much coleslaw on top. I feel like if Killen's is going to serve pulled pork tacos there needs to be three things done. 1. Serve the tacos with an option of corn tortillas because I feel corn tortillas would've worked better to give a great contrast/pairing with the sweetness of the pulled pork and sauce. 2. Serve the corn/flour tortillas on the side so that they don't get soggy and wet. 3. There are some things that just don't belong on a taco of any kind and that's coleslaw. My partner and I also tasted the banana pudding and to say it was divine is an understatement. What I really like about this pudding was that you could taste real bananas in this pudding and it had been mixed well all together. Our total was $80 after tipping, which is a little pricey for some of the items, but honestly I would definitely come back to Killen's Barbecue when I was in the mood for barbecue.

I came from out of town with a list of places to eat all the way from Houston to Galveston, and…read morethis was an "afterthought" quick breakfast spot before I headed to Houston Space Center. This was the best meal I had my entire weekend! The place had ample parking. There was a solid staff cleaning, and the place was spotless. The front desk staff was helpful and patient with newbies, recommending menu items and accompaniments from the bar nearby. I had the chorizo breakfast taco and the pulled pork hash taco - I was delighted to find out that "hash" meant a delicious hash brown inside the taco. The egg was creamy and perfect inside a taco, the cheese was good, the meat was amazing. I don't think it's possible for me to be happier with roughly $9 in breakfast food. I will make it a point, even if it's not on my way, to visit Pit Room every time I'm in the Houston area going forward. It is a destination restaurant, in my opinion!

My wife and I had had a great experience at the Pit Room previously, so brought the rest of my family here to experience. I found the food to continue to be really good, especially the fatty brisket. Stopped by around 11 am, and there was still parking in the dedicated surface lot next to the building. The smell of bbq wasn't as prevalent as last time. Once walking in, you stand in line to first order your meat...which is immediately sliced in front of you. You then move further along to ask for your sides, including as many slices of plain white bread as you want. My daughter treated us this time, so didn't record prices, but thought it was reasonable. I liked the sliced brisket a lot, along with the side of elote corn and mac n cheese. The free toppings bar had the various pickled vegetables that really cut through the fattiness of the meat. Drinks were all self serve, with a water station and soda fountain. Probably ordered a bit less than expected for 4 people, but was happy that there were no left overs, and left not completely stuffed, since we had a long day ahead of us. By the time we left a little after noon, there was both a wait for tables and parking. We had come at the right time.

I didn't try the barbecue -- even though that seemed to be what everyone else was there for and for…read morea second I wondered if I was missing out. But instead of ordering the usual barbecue plate, I chose something that sounded just as bold but a little different: a ribeye loaded potato. And that turned out to be the best decision I could have made. This wasn't just a steak next to a potato. The ribeye and the loaded potato came together as one incredible, over-the-top masterpiece. It started with a massive baked potato -- perfectly crisp on the outside and unbelievably soft and fluffy on the inside. Then, instead of serving the steak on the side, they piled juicy, sliced ribeye right on top of the potato. The ribeye itself was cooked to perfection. Each slice was tender, deeply flavorful, and beautifully seared on the edges. It had that rich, buttery taste that only a well-marbled ribeye can deliver. The juices from the steak soaked down into the hot potato beneath it, creating this unbelievable combination of textures and flavors. Every bite had that savory, melt-in-your-mouth beef paired with the soft, steaming potato. But it didn't stop there. The entire thing was loaded -- and I mean loaded. Melted cheese draped over the ribeye slices, blending into the potato below. A generous spoonful of sour cream added a cool, tangy contrast to the richness of the meat. Butter melted into every layer, making each bite even more indulgent. Green onions sprinkled on top added just enough freshness to cut through the heaviness. Everything blended together into this perfect harmony of creamy, savory, and hearty goodness. When you took a forkful, you didn't just get steak or just potato -- you got both at once. The juicy ribeye, the fluffy potato, the melted cheese, and the creamy toppings all in one bite. It was comfort food elevated to another level. The flavors didn't compete; they enhanced each other. The steak's bold, beefy richness balanced perfectly with the smooth, buttery potato base. And then there were the jalapeño poppers on the side -- crispy, golden, and filled with warm, creamy cheese and just the right kick of spice. Taking a bite of a popper between forkfuls of the ribeye loaded potato added that extra layer of crunch and heat that made the whole meal even better. By the end, I wasn't thinking about the barbecue at all. I didn't feel like I missed out on anything. The ribeye loaded potato was hearty, indulgent, and unforgettable. It wasn't just a meal -- it was an experience. Every bite was rich, flavorful, and satisfying in a way that sticks with you long after you've left the table. Skipping the barbecue turned out to be the best decision I could have made.

No ketchup I had to ask for a lot of items even the pickle and onion that comes with the barbecue plates. I paid nearly $60 for three meals I just thought the priority wasn't given for my order for what I paid. Normally the food is walked out to dine in guests and the plates were not distributed together and some food was cold. Need to improve for the prices charged for plates. Please offer bread to guests with combo meals. Food and cost of living is too high for mediocre service.

You were greeted by super friendly people that explained everything and helped us make a decision on what to eat. My husband and I both had the three meat combo, which, came with the choice of three meats, two sides and a drink. I choose the ribs, sausage, and brisket with green beans and ranch potatoes. The ribs and sausage were very yummy! The brisket was good but a little dry. The ranch potatoes were cold and definitely needed more seasoning but were ok. I was not a fan of the green beans, they were very bland. I got the bbq sauce on the side and it was tangy and good. My husband ordered the chicken, sausage, and brisket with the cream corn and green beans. He liked all the 3 meats and LOVED the cream corn. He said the green beans needed some help. The total for the two of us was about $45. We would definitely eat here again and would recommend it to everyone.
