We purchased business class tickets for my husband, myself, and our two young children for our…read morerecent Amtrak trip. We arrived 40 minutes early to ensure we could sit together as a family. However, once we boarded, there were no available seats for four together except for the table seating in coach. When I explained to the attendant that I was not comfortable with my 7-year-old sitting next to a stranger, he refused to let us sit there, even though it was empty at the time. His response was dismissive "I'll let you figure it out" before walking away and later giving that exact table to four passengers who boarded after us. This was not the level of service we expected in business class. The lack of empathy and unwillingness to accommodate a family with small children especially after arriving early and paying for upgraded seats was extremely disappointing. Amtrak should ensure attendants are trained to prioritize safety, comfort, and reasonable seating accommodations for families.

You have single riders and double riders taking up the 4 seat sections and kids all scattered throughout the train. Someday Amtrak will come to the 21st century and upgrade their website so you can choose your seats according to how many passengers you have. Don't travel as a family on here because you will be stressed and disappointed at the customer service. Also they don't regulate the snacks. People come on and fill their whole backpacks up as soon as the workers are out of site. For being federally owned it's a joke of a company.

This company is the worst company and staffs the most inhumane people with no empathy, respect,…read more kindness, or intelligence. I have been on this bus for 19 hours and still have 4more to go. That's 24hrs and was only allowed to step off the bus twice to stretch my legs, purchase food/drinks, smoke, use bathrooms other than on board Porta potty. Both stops it was also only a 15 -20 min break. I understand trying to keep schedule times and getting to the destination, but this has been completely inhumane, uncaring, uncomfortable and completely unnecessary experience. I would rather walked the 4 state's then ever ride this company again. Their treatment of thier customers is unimaginable. Every employee from Denver Indianapolis has been completely rude, and unfortunately don't care about thier customers comfort. I watched them yell at others on board as if they were scolding a child. I watch them be rude because of other passengers not knowing English and just walking away refusing to help them. I watched them be asked important questions about travel and them flat out tell passengers not my job not my problem. There mistreatment is on all passengers equally and all they care about it packing you in like caged cattle and getting your money. They don't even deserve the one star I had tto give them in order to try and warn everyone about how terrible they are. Please choose any other means in traveling becuse this gre edy uncaring inhumane compamy deserves to go bankrupt and close. Yhey serriously need to be suied by some class action for thier mistreatment of passengers!

From growing up in Chicago and then living in Champaign I thought I have seen ghetto before. But that ghetto doesn't compare to the ghetto that rides on this bus. From the 2 little kids in front of me fake shooting the people walking onto the bus, to the girl behind me cackling to the lady next to her that she just met, to the guy across from me coughing into the air, and lastly the guy a few seats up who's sprawled out accords the seat with his head in the isle snoring. This bus deserves a rating less than 1 star. To go somewhere that takes 2 hours I have to pay 25 dollars to feel sketched out and uncomfortable the entire time. It is astonishing to me that this type of service is even allowed. I am open minded to a lot of people, however none of those people ride this bus. The only thing that is semi good about this bus is that it says it only takes an hour and 50 minutes to get where I want to go whereas the Peoria Charter (which is safer by far) takes 2 and a half hours and runs during inconvenient times. Still, Burlington Sketchways usually runs late so at the end of the day it doesn't ever matter. All in all, don't take this shithole of a bus unless you truly have no other form of transportation. It isn't worth it. Go to the circus if you want to be stuck with people like these.

Scheduled the day before with owner for 4:30am pickup from my hotel to the airport for a 6am…read moreflight. He said "one of my guys will see you tomorrow morning." Next morning, it's 4:35am and no taxi. I call their number, there's a pause, which tells me he totally forgot about me, and says "my car broke down, let me see what I can do, if my sister can come and get me, I can pick you up with the truck (?), I can probably be there in 30 minutes, I'll call you back in 10 minutes ..." OMG! I have a flight that starts boarding in 50 minutes, and he's calling back in 10 minutes! I gave him the benefit of a doubt as there's no other way to get to the airport ... no Ubers this early. Nothing. You can guess how this ends. "Sorry, not gonna make it" I guess I should have been dubious when he didn't ask for a name or phone number upon scheduling the pickup. Long story short, I woke up hotel manager and he drove me to the airport in his own car ... and I gave him the money that this taxi company was going to charge me. I made my flight with 15 minutes to spare. Perhaps if you need a ride to the grocery store, this taxi company will be fine. But I certainly wouldn't use them for anything important like trying to make an early morning flight. Life is too short for this type of aggravation ... and what's the point of supporting a business that's not reliable?

I've been a very loyal customer to Checker cab. I've used checker since my sophomore year of…read morecollege, when I started getting bad experience with other cab companies in town. Even after I graduated I still only use checker whenever I'm back. I even refers every friend that I have to use the company. However, the incident set of last Sunday (1/13) has totally changed my thoughts about the company. First, I got complaints from my friends who had to wait hours to get the cab, and also sometime without knowing that it would take that long. I had to leave town on Sunday and was warned when trying to schedule a trip to Amtrak Station on that day. However, because of my past experience with Checker, I still gave the company benefit of the doubt. My train was scheduled to leave at 5:56pm and I called to schedule a cab at around 3:00pm to pick me up at 5:20pm. But even until 5:30pm, I still did not receive any call nor see any cab waiting outside for me. So I decided to give them a call to check up. The female operator told me that my cab did not come because I cancelled the service myself (?!?) She then told me that the cab will turn around and pick me up shortly. Well, it was 5:55pm that the cab finally came and it was already too late for me. I missed my train and had to pay lots of money to reschedule another one, not to say that I have to wait for another 3 hours in town for that. I called back to complain and before I could say anything, the female operator just give me a sentence: "Oh so you're cancelling?", then she dropped the call. Not even a single "Sorry". I rode with the company owner's once and I like her and the company so much that I stayed loyal until now. However, this incident has just set everything off. Tried to find an email address so I don't have to write this public review, but all they have is just the phone number and I don't want to talk to that female operator again. So here you go Checker. I'm gonna stick with Red Top next time I'm in town.
