I asked the man kindly to move his truck to the other side of the road or to park in front of the house he was working for and he told me he would "in a few" I then explained that I had to go to work soon and would not be able to leave if he put the truck back where it was. He told me " just come grab me." I told him I did not feel it was my responsibility to come get him to move the truck when he was not parked on the right side to begin with. He said he could park where he wanted and continued back into my neighbors house. I ended up having to call the police to get him to move the truck at all and he only moved it because he knew he was wrong. He also had no cones out warning cars of the truck, until I called. He still parked in front of my drive way but left my anointing neighbors driveway open just enough for me to fit. The point is I shouldn't have even had to call them in the first place I asked him multiple times to please move his truck before I called the police and asked the neighbors to request they move it as well. (Not sure if they did or not) highly unprofessional and do not recommend.

I hired 2 movers for 2 hours, only to have one mover (Chris) show up a half an hour late…read more Chris was scheduled to arrive at 1 pm, but texted me at 12:58 pm to say that he would be 15 minutes late. I had to call and text him at 1:28 pm to ask him where he was. Once Chris arrived, he approached me as if he was ready to get started, without ever acknowledging that he was missing one person. When I questioned him, he acted dumbfounded, and said that the other mover had had a "family emergency." You mean to tell me you show up a half hour late without first immediately contacting me to let me know that the arrangement I PAID IN ADVANCE FOR has changed? And then you expect me to proceed as if this is normal? Well, that's exactly what Chris did. I asked Chris how he could show up a half hour late without first attempting to find a replacement. He had no answer. I asked him if he could find one, and again he looked dumbfounded, and said he would try. He went back to his car and sat in there for the next fifteen minutes, purportedly trying to fix the situation. In that time, the facility I was moving to had contacted a local mover for me who agreed to come move me by 3 pm. Chris's unprofessional shenanigans caused me totally unnecessary stress, delayed my move by over two hours, and as a result forced me to have to finish up my move in the evening after dark (which unfortunately led me to sustain a physical injury). I was beyond astounded and appalled at how nonchalantly this young man did this to me, and several days before a major holiday when it would likely be hard for me to find a replacement. Chris apparently expected me to wear out my back assisting him with a move (which would have taken four hours instead of two), something I steadfastly refused to do. I have never encountered a more unnecessary, unprofessional, and manipulative set of circumstances from a business in my life. I would never recommend this business to anyone, and rather, would strongly caution any person considering working with them to avoid it.

Prior to moving, I reached out to Chris to confirm the day and estimated time of arrival. Chris was responsive, flexible, and more than willing to make accommodations given the distance of my move. For instance, he was able to offer evening availability (after 5pm), although I imagine that was not ideal for him and the other movers. When I arrived at my destination, Chris and Frank met me promptly and they had my belongings unloaded within an hour. They were careful with my furniture and Chris was very attentive to the labels on my boxes to ensure that they were put in the right place. He even had food recommendations and other helpful tips about the area. Overall, I was so pleased with my experience and I would highly recommend Chris and Illini Movers for any of your moving needs. Thank you Chris and Frank!

It was after the fact that we were noticed we could rent additional space in a 2nd trailer for the remaining household items that didn't fit in the 27ft trailer despite the estimate being for the 27ft. By the time we were told about the 2nd trailer option, we had decided and moved our remaining items in a local storage unit for the time being. That being said, I feel like a video conference to see the house would have been appropriate to better approximate how many trailers you may need. Otherwise, the experience was easy to order. The drivers I met were soo soo kind and very nice. I don't know if Covid has deprived us all of conversations, but all 4 of the drivers I met, took the time to answer our questions and made us feel at ease. Moving can be so stressful, but I appreciated the truck drivers giving us the confidence our household items were in good hands. They actually arrived ahead of the projected schedule which was great. You hear horror stories about people waiting for months fir their delivery, and we didn't experience any issues. Their customer service representatives were also very helpful and seemed to be very confident in their knowledge. I would say I did have an issue with the payment portion. We were attempting to pay for our truck, but I had a little difficulty with that. It had to do with the text alert I received. I believe I was sent a alert to put for our shipping container before it was actually delivered, which if I remember, the trailer was only to be paid after delivery to the distribution center. Anyway, it was addressed. I do feel as a company, during a pandemic companies need to enforce masks. Both Illinois drivers did not wear masks. The drivers in Houston did wear masks.
