They send the truck back by. They don't always pickup the things I want to throw out. Turns out mattresses and wood from kitchen renovations are not normal trash and cost extra. There is another trash hauler in area that dumps their trash in a landfill that sits over a local aquifer. I am not much of a 'green' person. Even dogs know not to poop in their beds though.
