After moving 1200 miles , I found myself without the help hired through moving help (uhaul). After sending out a few texts , Mann's responded and even though they already had a job they scheduled me for the afternoon. They drove nearly 40 miles for the unload. They were very professional working with us to make sure everything went to the room it was supposed to. I hope I never have to move again, but if I do, Mann's will be the only guys I call read more

August 14th, 2020 Mann's Moving & Hauling Champaign, IL 61821 217.255.2952 Dear Alex (and Benjamin). I am touching base with you after my move, 08.10.2020. While I had sent a thorough list of items, Benjamin phoned in the morning to confirm as he wanted to be sure whether he would need a 20ft or 26ft truck. I assured him either would be fine because I moved everything here in a 10ft and trailer. He arrived shortly after 11am with two young men. We did a walk-through. He agreed the 20ft truck would be fine for the move. And he left with the two getting to work. They did not need to break anything down or shrink wrap any items. While they were getting the boxes & totes loaded, my brother-in-law, sister, and I were loading up his SUV and my Nissan. After a couple of hours, one of the young men asked me if it was okay to "come back and make a second trip"? I was surprised since the 20ft truck was more than enough to accommodate this move, but he said he wasn't sure and "we might have to". At that point, I told him that we would finish the basement items and he should focus on the main floor. Benjamin did stop by for about 10 minutes to check on them and then left. He did not speak to me directly. They had some trouble getting to the new address because a phone had run out of battery and ran late finding the house. Once at the new place, it was unorganized chaos. Boxes just being placed anywhere. Part of a dining room table put into my son's room. One item I requested to be placed in the master wasn't and buried somewhere behind boxes. Any direction given earlier was forgotten because they just wanted to 'get it done'. They asked that I go back to the old address to pick up their dollies. When I got back to Neil St. I noticed several items were actually left behind. Unfortunately, during this move, damages did occur. A part of the cat tree was broken off (See picture attached.) My couch was torn (See attached picture.) My bed frame was pulled off and not put back on (See attached picture.). And it was fortunate that we noticed some of it before they left because it was not brought to anyone's attention. Honestly, I have moved many times and if there is anything out of place, I would be notified immediately by a mover. Not this time. And that is very disappointing. At this point, my brother-in-law had made at least five trips with his SUV and I made four. I had already explained in my July 16th email that my son and I are on medical disability. Working this hard and this much was more than I should have done. Pre-paying $473 for the first three hours as agreed was fine, but an additional $200 really pissed my brother-in-law off at the end of the day. He could see how much pain I was in and struggling. Also, he put in the same amount of work as the young men did. However, I did give a generous tip because the boys did work hard. Which brings me to this point. The young men did work hard, but they did not work smart. It is obvious they are not experienced. One seasoned person should have been on site at all times. The truck would have been properly fully loaded, without any damage to my property, and the move would have taken less time. There is no actual "discount" when a move takes longer than it should due to inexperience or direction. If this was just one small thing or two, I would let it pass. I honestly would. However, it wasn't. Not even close. I do not blame the young men. They were pleasant and polite. And the job was more than they could handle on their own. Is this a fair and appropriate outcome? Attachments: Photo of porch swing detached. Movers did not put it back up. Damage to the couch. Not fixable. Bed rail removed from bed and not replaced (cannot be put back by one person). Damage to cat tree. Not fixable. Two additional car loads necessary after movers left home. (10+ car/SUV loads in conjunction to the movers using a 20ft truck.) Addendum: No response to direct email of this letter. Sent a direct company email (w/letter) 08.21.2020 requesting they reach out. No response. There is no formal company address to mail this letter to. The company has taken an "ignore all communications" approach. read more

Took my payment and never showed up! Sent me a quote via email with the option to approve & schedule for my chosen day. Since it's impossible to find movers that will even respond around here and I needed help asap, I approved. No email or phone call from Mann's to confirm. When I tried to follow up by phone, the mailbox was full. Still, I crossed my fingers and hoped they would show up. They never did! No follow up from them whatsoever. Fortunately I was able to recover the charges from my credit card company. Buyer beware! Do not trust this company. read more

A very good moving service! Carl did a fantastic job of moving my furniture I bought at Big Lots and he delivered it to my 3rd floor apt. He set up furniture and cleared everything(pkg) away!! Very professional and friendly service I definitely recommend!!! Lynn Kaelin read more

Very nice guys. They did their job and helped me move all my stuff when I was unable to come back to campus. Thank you!

I got a package delivered early and it was too big and bulky for us to move alone. They were able to come over in the evening same day and problem solved moving the giant cabinet into our house with ease and no damage to the house or the cabinet. Very worth what they asked. Others were asking for way more. read more

They are great movers and the price for the moving is reasonable. I was surprised that they moved all my stuffs from my storage unit to my new apartment in just one trip. I would recommend this company to any U of I student. read more

I used Mann's Moving a couple of years ago, as I needed someone to move us into our new home. The pros: the prices are good and they were careful with our items. Unfortunately, the cons outweighed the pros. My first issue was that they showed up 1hr 30 min late. I was fine with it after the owner assured me I would get a discount for them arriving late. My second and biggest issue was when the owner was leaving my house, he said "nice working with you. I left you something upstairs" and chuckled as he left. I was wondering what he was talking about. I went upstairs and the gift he left us was water all on our guest bathroom floor from a toilet that had leaked, and a terrible smell after he took a shit. They were there moving for a couple of hours, and he could have done this shortly after arriving. Then realized he tracked the toilet water in other parts of my house, because there is no way you couldn't step in the water on the way out of the bathroom; there was just too much toilet water on the floor. Dude, you could have at least told me what happened with the toilet. Instead, you walked in and out of my house moving things, and then left my house chuckling as you mentioned there was something left upstairs. You don't ever treat someone's home like that! And I NEVER got my discount from you being late either. Take what you will from this review, but as for me and mine, we will never hire this company for moving again. read more

Had the same experience as another reviewer: they did not show up. They did not call to cancel. We called and got their voicemail which was full. We emailed and Facebooked. Two days later, we still don't have a reply. Just an absolute, unapologetic failure from this company. read more

They didn't show up. Worst move day ever. Didn't respond to phone calls or texts. We used these guys once and they were awesome...but doesn't matter anymore because a no show without a call or text is awful. read more

Best of the Best! Showed up even half an hour early than the scheduled time. Very responsive to phone calls or text messages. Ben is a pro in the area and knows exactly how to handle stuff. Absolutely best moving experience and incredible people. Awesome for international students like me who are not driving and moving into an apt without elevators. Recommended to my intl friends too! read more

I couldn't have asked for more!! They were so fast, yet careful. Even in the crazy awful heat, they never slowed down. They worked extra late for me and were very courteous. Would highly recommend!! read more

Ben and Wes showed up on short notice to help my husband and I move into our new apartment in Champaign. They must've done 3+ hours of work in 2 hours! They both had great attitudes and were extremely proficient, respectful, and professional. I don't know what we would've done without them since another company had canceled on us last minute. Honestly, I'm glad the other company canceled because Mann's was amazing! read more
