My experience at Bloomingdale's South Coast was very interesting. I had been looking at a Polo Ralph Lauren leather jacket for the past two weeks after seeing it at Macy's and because the did not have my size I started researching where else I could find it. On Saturday November 30, I called Bloomies South Coast and spoke to Sarb who works in the Denim Zone, and she was very helpful on the phone, keep in mind that this was an extremely busy day for them. She took two sizes of the jacket and put them away for me as I couldn't get to the store till 3pm. When I arrived she had the jackets for me to try on and she gave me the discounts associated with this garment and I of course purchased the jacket. The store was extremely busy but she never missed a beat and I observed her serving other customers as well . . . her service is excellent, polite, friendly and professional. People like her are the reason I will be back shopping . . . notwithstanding the fact that it is a beautiful store with really great products. Thank you again for your wonderful service. read more

A beautiful store, but the customer service really is hit or miss. Anthony Romero from the women's shoe salon was wonderful. The two ladies from Mac were also very kind, patient and helpful. Unfortunately, the male and female associates from Dior were horrible. I just left the store feeling so angry that their attitudes were so obvious! On the contrary, the gentlemen in the All Saints department were sweet and helpful. I always have a great experience in the Free People Department. Overall, I'd prefer Nordstrom's customer service over Bloomingdales any day!!!!! read more

This Bloomingdale's has terrible service and limited selection. I went here once by myself looking for a beige pencil skirt in the BCBG area. No one helped me out or asked me if I needed any help. They weren't even busy as I went on a weekday. They have a section for Lipsy and All Saints here which I like but they are very small sections and have very little clothing. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought that maybe they were just having an off day. Then I returned yesterday with my family in search for a Chanel purse that I had been eyeing for the longest time. The SA at the Chanel counter was the biggest snob I've ever encountered in my life. We were the only ones there and she didn't ask if we needed help. Instead I had to approach her asking if they had the 2.55 that I wanted. Without a smile and no eye contact she said "No". Well hello can you tell me more than that? I had to pry information out of her and instead of answering my questions she said "why don't you just try the Chanel boutique downstairs?". After going to a different department store I found out that you can wait list if there is a purse you're interested, the fact that I wasn't offered this option at Bloomingdales made me upset. I also made the mistake of buying a Jo Malone candle here this morning. They did not have every candle available on display for smelling. I basically bought a candle not knowing what it would smell like. I should have just bought my candle from the Jo Malone store instead because i'm sure they would have found a way for me to smell all of their candles. Avoid this Bloomingdales. read more

I think Bloomingdales' boss should do some undercover work and sign up for that show "Undercover Boss". He would be disappointed in his staff. I went in to this location thinking that so was going to buy another Chanel bag and that I'd open up a Bloomingdales credit card to save 15%, I went to the Chanel section and no one asked to help! Instead they just kept adjusting the store and dusting! I had to walk over to the counter and ask if she could please help me. She was nice after that but she never went to any bags and showed me or pulled anything from the back. They just seemed lazy. I feel bad saying that but that was the vibe. I went to the Chanel store and they were much more helpful and nicer. Just because you sell an expensive commodity doesn't make you freaking Karl Lagerfeld himself. I'm (me the customer HeLLo!) is forking out the $ and they're not cheap so Chanel and especially Bloomingdales needs to buck up and provide great customer service because when you spend that kind of money you're also paying for the experience. Egads! This place was a madhouse when I visited last week. (little did I know they'd JUST opened) I was still under the impression that they were opening in April so I thought it would've died down by early May. Foolish of me to have thought construction would actually finish on time! Anyhoo, this store is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! Truly a sight to see. I can't really comment on too much on the staff (as I was having a mild panic attack while pushing my way through the crowds) but when I did stop to peruse the clothing I was greeted by several girls. (all nice--not too pushy) The only thing that was a bit annoying was the walk through the cosmetic/fragrance departments--those girls where spraying so much sh*t in my face it was hard to see. If I don't make eye contact with you it means 'LAY OFF'. heh I'm giving this Bloomie's 5 stars solely on decor & layout. I'm sure I'll be back there over and over again (hell, I might eventually have an account there) so this rating is tentative. Bloomingdales of South Coast Plaza is like one of the Stepford Wives's wet dreams..... It's big, spacious, white, and covered in glitzy jewelry, silk fabric, and eye-catching materials. Every employee is dressed in black and watches over their section like a British Solider guarding the Castle. Yesterday, I needed lingerie and when I saw the Agent Provacuteur section---I LOST MY SHIT. Everything was so amazing and neatly presented that I fell in love immediately. I registered at this Bloomingdales for my wedding. My registry experience was ok. The girls helped me that day, but pretty much never again, although I'm sure she enjoyed the rest of her comission. The thing I don't like about Bloomingdales is their nickel and diming I don't get at other stores. When people wanted to buy me things off my registry offline or if they didn't have it in store, they make you pay for shipping. That is so stupid. It really burns me. I picked up some Tumi luggage before the honeymoon and paid $35 to have it shipped to my home because they didn't have it in stock. Ugh. I bought a friend a birthday present the other day, and wanted it wrapped. At Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus, where I normally shop, they do it complimentary. The package was the size of my palm, and they wanted $8 to wrap it. No thank you Bloomingdales. I'll stick to only buying what I can find in store from here on out. read more

Nadar is my go to guy! I've purchased two suits from him... Not only does he know my taste in fashion, but he also learned my size and fits. Ask for Nadar the next time you are in the mens department. You can shop on line, but there's more value when you can have someone know knows fashion and their store inside and out(inventory, similar products, and bargains). Very nice Bloomingdales. It's so seductive too with the LV and Chanel right at the entrance. How can you NOT go in? Valerie at Louis Vuitton is wonderful. She's friendly, sweet, attentive, and has good taste (well at least she complements my taste). :D Lina in the sunglass section is wonderful. She's straight up and will tell you if something looks good on you or not. If there isn't anything left in the style requested that may look good on you, she'll tell you to look elsewhere. She means business people. Doesn't want to waste her time nor yours. I love that! She picked out a few cute aviators for me but with my big head, no luck. UGH! Maybe next time... I love Bloomies! This store is huge!!! But that doesn't mean it is fabulous. At the front of the store you can find mini Chanel and Louis Vuitton boutiques. They are well stocked but understaffed. Under staffing seems to be the theme here. And the staff they do have are definitely sub par to what customers of high quality demand. Stuffy, I know but if you want us to spend the high dollars there better be some classy people in there selling it to us. As you get deeper into the store it turns into just another department store. Overstocked with the run of the mill Citizens, True Religion and Juicy. The shoe department is a mess... I say skip it and stick with Neimans for shoes and Saks for clothes. read more

I only find myself coming here to purchase and sample the Nespresso coffee boutique located on the bottom floor. You can get on a major caffeine high sampling all the different espresso's before a busy day shopping in the mall There are also two amazing restaurants on the second floor. Not a place to actually purchase anything unless you are ballin. Although it is a high end store to shop, the staff is always friendly to everyone walking around - I never go past an employee without them saying "Hello." read more

She gave me a makeover and I ended up spending over $100 unplanned. She educated me on the Chanel lines, and helping me pick the best colors. I love her, I will always go back to shop with her! The worst customer service experience considering how much I spend and how I am being treated as a customer. I placed an order on 8/29/20 at this store for a delivery to be scheduled on 09/24 and since placing my order I had to call a few times to customer service online regarding a cancellation letter I got regarding my order on 08/31/20. They told me the letter was an administration error from account services department and my order was to be delivered on 09/24 and not to worry. When I have called to inquire on the 1 (800) 777-0000 customer service number about my order the customer service rep was unable to locate my sales check number and appears confused regarding my order. The rep then tells me i needed to talk to a different department that handles furniture. I gotten transferred many times while on the phone to deal with one order that as of now the issue does not appear to been resolved. When I have called I been transferred to other departments because I am told I was routed to the wrong department. The phone wait time is very horrible. This morning I got a message a few days from my delivery to let me know there is a hold on my order and 24 days have passed so I needed to do a reauthorization because authorizations expire after 24 days (). I have placed many orders in store or online in other retail companies without ever having to deal with anything like this. How many times does a customer have to call to talk about a problem that they have created? Today when I returned a call which took me two attempts because the supervisor was on the phone with another customer when I called. The second time I called after 7 hours waiting get a call back the computer needed to be refreshed so she would call me 20 minutes later. She tells me it's been a busy day and was not able to call me earlier. She informed me that she had to rerun my order because there was a hold after 24 days have passed orders expire. They told me my delivery is set for 09/24. Having to deal with this experience makes me doubt their ability to deliver, i don't believe anything they are telling me anymore. The lady at the authorization department who was on the phone with me told me she was writing notes on my order for other people to refer back to in case there is an issue. She also told me that if I needed clarification I would need to talk to a different department to get an order status as they only focus authorizations. She could not provide me with an email confirmation but customer service representative informed her my order was scheduled to be delivered 09/24. They are not trust worthy, reliable or honest. I been given many run arounds and misinformation. I am skeptical they will follow through in the coming week. I would think twice about buying furniture from Bloomingdale's to avoid a nightmare, and keep your piece of mind. read more

Came here to get my make up done and I decided with my spare time I'd look at the perfume. I went to the perfume counter and asked the lady if I could have a sample of one, she told me "this isn't Nordstrom we don't give out samples". You're damn right it isn't Nordstrom, because if it was you would be giving me a sample with a smile on your face instead of the judgment ass face. Honestly this place is one of the store where you must wear high end clothes to lured sales man to help you, and if you buying stuff from their sales rack forget about sales man or any help, you'll be treated like fly on the wall. My family took me here to buy my mother's day gift. It was super busy and humming with shoppers. I wanted to buy a luxury perfume for my gift and I was not disappointed. The perfume reps at Sisley-Paris, Creed, and Armini prive, were friendly, helpful, and easy to talk to. I'm always a bit on the shy side when I shop at a luxury store and my experience with the sales staff here has always been a positive one. They are courteous and attentive. And generous too! We tried to pay with a gift certificate and their machine ate it up and we weren't able to use it towards the purchase. The staff were very apologetic about it and were generous with gifting me and my daughter perfume samples and necklaces. We weren't upset about anything and they worked hard on making it a positive experience to us. Shopping here is easy and I appreciate the friendly and helpful staff. I LOVE BLOOMINGDALES. Bloomingdales is one of the higher end department stores where if you wait a bit you can actually afford their stuff like them rich people. They have numerous sales, friends and family, events, coupons, gift cards,catalogs etc sent in the mail whether its beauty, clothes or even home. Ive gotten some great deals on clothes due to sales and using your bloomies card and using your promo gc. It's nice because you can stack your discounts leading to more discounts! Also during certain times, i don't know if they still do it now, they have the "for every spend $100 and get $15 in gifcard." and guess what ....... It applys to CHANEL! Imagine how many $15 gc i got buying a chanel purse. YUP. anddd you get additional discount of 10-15% if you open up a bloomies card on your chanel purchase. This does not work with Louis Vuitton though. Their shoe selection is small and meh but you can get nice brand names on sale very often. Their home section is wonderful! Le cruset pots are $$$ but this place is the place to get it at when they have sales. its usually 40% off. read more

I purchased a Saint Laurent clutch back in May of 2021 for my birthday. I ended up not liking how small it was and wanted to exchange it for a larger cross body. The only issue was that I live in Austin, Tx and the nearest Bloomingdales was over 4 hours away. So I called the store and tried to do an exchange over the phone and have the bag shipped to me but because of Bloomingdales fraud system I was unable to do so. At this point I was out of options Roger assured me because of the circumstances he would take care of it the next time I came back to Costa Mesa... Due to COVID-19 nearly 7 months went by before I was able to come back. Roger assured me that my clutch was still being held in his store and he would honor the policy and exchange it for a bag of my choice. I cannot believe he still remembered me! He took such great care of my mom and I when we went back. The store was so packed due to the Holidays but he was so patient and attentive. 5 Stars for Roger and his team. Lots of selection. Came here twice in the last 2 months. First experience - fantastic service Second experience- tried on a beautiful gown and the sales associate asked me how I was doing once. She even came to give me a pair of pumps to try on the dress with. However, after that she disappeared and didn't help anymore. Love this Bloomingdales. They have a nice selection of everything and the sales staff is top notch. They are helpful yet they leave you alone to browse. I stopped in at the MAC counter last night and the sales girl was as sweet and helpful as can be. Not pushy at all. I love how MAC has everything out so you can walk around and try things on. MAC is one of the few that does this. Everybody has has the old school counter with only a display and you have to ask the clerk to pull things out for you. Very old school and a bad idea. read more

Went here on Black Friday and they offered us 15% off when signing up for their credit card and another 30% worth of gift cards with every purchase. My wife bought a purse and perfume for pretty much 45% off and this place rarely has any good sales. Everything here is high end and expensive so plan on coming here during the good sales. read more

I love this place even though 99% of the time, I come out empty handed lol. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Everything is organized the way I like it. Clean and grouped in similar styles. If you have been wanting to purchase something $$$, you should definitely wait until they offer the "open a card and get 20% off all your purchase today". You can use it towards the Fendi and Chanel store within the Bloomingdales, as well as cosmetics, shoes and all sale items. If you are going to purchase those items, it is a great deal. Amanda in the fragrance department is a sweetheart! She was extremely helpful when I went in last week. She was knowledgeable as to all the notes in the fragrances and was not pushy whatsoever. I avoid going to the store when I am in the market for a new perfume, because I cannot stand when the sales people get all pushy. I like to smell everything before making a decision. This place sale OVER PRICED China made clothes. I tried to buy dresses here and it 'never' fits. I always ended up returning the clothes that I bought because it fits really weird. I think their clothes are made for people who have the same body proportions as runway models, which I guess it's my fault that I'm not. The quality of clothes here are also horrible. They charge at least $250 for their dresses, but it looks like it's not worth more than $100. I can get dresses that are better tailored and cheaper in price from J-Crew, Club Monaco or Ann Taylor. Basically, I wouldn't recommend you buying clothes from here unless u have model size proportions. read more

Probably the best Bloomingdale's in the country. Although there aren't that many in Southern California, even judging it from a general department store standpoint...it's very impressive. The facade from the parking lot is very modern with lots of glass elements. This makes it particularly noticeable from the 405 Freeway. The inside houses many sub-stores like a Louis Vuitton, Chanel and a Charles Palmer restaurant. I suppose this make some economic sense so that Federated Department stores (the company that owns Bloomingdale's) would share the rent with other tenants as well as have a broader appeal to people in the market for things not normally found in department stores (like a high-end restaurant). The inside looks very impressive as well. The black and white flooring is actually very classy and makes the place feel a lot grander. One thing you'll notice in the inside is that there aren't really any mirrors on the second floor. I always wondered why this was the case. I speculate it could be because it would detract from the motif of black and white tiles. The price is going to be obviously more expensive here than other department stores. Probably even more expensive than Nordstrom. The shopping experience might be better here though, because they offer more things than just clothing accessories and fragrances. The bottom floor offers home furnishings and kitchenware. I once even saw an old-world style telescopes being sold in the furniture section. I didn't ask about the price, though in retrospect, I wish I did. My one standard may be the service. It's not as friendly as Nordstrom, and you won't be taken as seriously if you don't fit the part of the serious shopper. Which, in this case, would be someone well-dressed and perhaps snobby. The men's section is quite large and is towards the rear of the department store if you were to enter in from the mall. All the designer names are here and their selection is extensive. I should really come back when this economy picks up again. read more
