Makenna Coffee is seriously such a hidden gem!…read more I first discovered this place completely by accident a while back when one of my girlfriends and I were on our way to go camping. We were craving coffee, searched for the closest coffee shop, and happened to stumble across Makenna Coffee. I remember absolutely falling in love with their coffee and thinking, "I cannot wait until we come back this way so I can get this again!" Unfortunately, I never ended up making it back... until today! We happened to be in the area for an appointment at the Jeep dealership, and when I realized Makenna Coffee was nearby, there was NO WAY I was leaving without stopping. This was only my second time here, and somehow it was just as good as I remembered. Taylor helped me and she was such a sweetheart! I couldn't remember what I had ordered the first time, so she helped me pick out two different drinks to try -- the Sandy Blonde and the Maui Latte. I ordered them half sweet, and they were still a little sweeter than I normally prefer, but honestly, they were amazing nonetheless. I'm usually a black coffee/Americano kind of girl, but every once in a while I get a serious sweet tooth and want something fun and indulgent -- and Makenna Coffee is PERFECT for that. Their coffee is so good, and there's just something about this little spot that I've loved ever since I accidentally discovered it. I only wish I lived closer because I would definitely be here way more often. If you're ever in this area, do yourself a favor and stop at Makenna Coffee. It's one of those little gems you're so happy you found.

I also ordered a bagel with cream cheese, which they offered to toast for me. The food came out pretty quickly and the person taking my order was pretty patient with me taking my time to look at their menu. The ambiance was nice too - it seems like a cozy enough place for people to hang out and I even saw someone working on their laptop for awhile. I will say the foods looked good but seemed a little pricey for the service size, so I avoided ordering anything else this time. Might check them out in the future.

Pretty much every time which is what pushed me to actually write a review. The food/coffee is way overpriced for what you get as well. When I went recently, they added the up charge to add cold foam and didn't even ask if I wanted it when I went in person. BUT, upon checking the online ordering on their website, it is so much more clear that that was an optional add-on. Kind of felt like they were just upcharging me to upcharge idk... Ambiance was good. Quiet, clean and the plants all around are a great touch. Don't get me wrong, the coffee and food are great, especially the speciality drink. Just be ready to pay over $10 for a drink on the summer specials. Not worth it at all.

Service was super fast! I've never received my coffee so quickly. Server was also nice. As far as ambiance goes, it's more of a quick stop coffee shop. Not really much decor or a vibe going. However the service is so fast it doesn't really matter. However, I would suggest playing some music. That's just me maybe but even if I go somewhere for a minute, the music playing can shift my whole mood. So I would definitely suggest that. Will most definitely be back!

When I ordered, the cashier told me they were out of whole milk for the day so my only option was going to be an alternative milk which I didn't mind. I was charged extra for the alternative, and while it's a small amount difference, I feel like this is something a great cafe would offer complimentary for the minor inconvenience as there was no other milk choice unless I chose not to order it at all. The matcha itself was lackluster. It tasted like milk and syrup, and had no umami or earthiness that usually comes with an accurate matcha profile. I also tried a sip of my brother's Hojicha latte and it was also very sugary and lacked the Hojicha flavor. Unfortunately, all the high ratings did not translate to my experience and I don't think the drinks, at least the matcha and hojicha, are a good representation of how they usually taste at a more specialized and authentic cafe. If you're looking to get good matcha, I highly suggest Re:Coffee in San Fernando valley!!

I went inside and I am a coffee and chocolate lover so I was in awe when I came inside. And of course I had to get my chocolate treat since I didn't have any at home. The shop has this warm, cozy vibe to it. There's seating outside but also all the way in the back. There's an expresso bar in the back and a cute vintage looking set up where you can sit down and enjoy your coffee and treat. I got some chocolate barks (dark chocolate almond bark, milk chocolate almond bark, sugar free milk chocolate almond bark) and the sugar free peanut butter cup and the dark chocolate tiramisu truffle which the girl said is their most popular item. I also got the chocolate chip cookie and omg! Really enjoyed it! It wasn't hard or too soft. It was crispy enough and if you do like it on the softer side, just a little bit in the microwave and it'll come out just right. It tasted like it just came out from the oven. I didn't get coffee because it was too late in the day but I happen to be around the next day and stopped by to get a latte! Although they dont have their flavored lattes on the menu they do have different ones you just gotta ask. I got the iced hazelnut latte which was so good, not a lot of ice, and only $4.50 for a 16oz! I'm excited to know where it is and can't wait to come back! There's a lot of parking since it's in the big shopping center right next to Sprouts.

It had been a while since my last visit to The Alley. A few friends were setting up camp at the…read morepicnic tables, and I decided to join them on a Saturday afternoon. Much to my surprise, it was about as lively as I had remembered it. The Alley was established during Covid times and offered a retreat to escape from the humdrum of the homestead. These days, its friendly vibe welcomes neighbors and visitors with a backyard setting strewn with twinkle lights and family-style tables. It's a causal scene and easy to soak in the live music, sunlight/moonlight, and neighborly banter. The layout resembles an alley with shops on either side, big open doors invite you to grab something to eat, sample a drink, or shop for handmade gifts. On one side, you've got craft brews and coffee roasters. On the other side, it's local wines and piping hot pizzas. Dogs are welcome all around. At the center of it all, there's live music on the weekends. Modeled after a Beer & Wine Garden concept, The Alley features Enegren Brewery (beer), Lucas Sellers (wine), California Coffee Republic (java), Fire & Vice (pizza), and The Craft House (non-alcoholic tchotchkes). As a self-proclaimed wino, I opted for a sampling of the Lucas Sellers Wines. Ashley, who was behind the bar and top of the pours, gave me good suggestions and offered anecdotes about each wine on tap. At the end of the night, my light pinot paired perfectly with the Mushroom Arugula pizza from Fire & Vice. And I felt right at home, surrounded by friends.
