Huge variety of flavors (my favorites are passion fruit, mango chamoy, and watermelon), the shop is a cute and clean space, and the owner and employees are the nicest people you could ever meet.

Will be coming back! Update - We came back the next day after tasting Carrara's to better compare the two. Carrara used to be our go to place for gelato but now it's Che Gelato.

While they do make a good amount of flavors, they aren't all available at the same time. At first, I thought I might have difficulty finding two flavors that I wanted because I am used to selecting from more like 20 to 30 flavors at other gelato shops, but it was no problem at all. Half of the offered flavors here at Che Gelato were of a fruit/ice base (sorbetto), which I just wasn't in the mood for... but I definitely liked all the fruit flavors. That left about 8 to 10 gelato (cream-based) flavors, of which I chose Nutella and dulce de Leche. I usually opt for gelato in a cup, but this time, I got it in a handmade, gluten-free waffle cone. As with most gelato, this was so flavorful and creamy. Even the cone was delicious, very light and crunchy with good flavor. The scoop size was generous, and I almost didn't finish it because I got full, but then, I did find a way to devour it all. It just tasted so good !! I'm definitely looking forward to trying more flavors, but I could just as easily re-order the same flavors that I just had because they were so delicious. I wonder how often they change flavors. I need to call and ask them !!

Within ten seconds of walking in, I was greeted by Ama, who set the tone for the whole visit. She was warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout. She even let me sample different gelato flavors and suggested some great dishes to try on my next visit. That kind of thoughtfulness goes a long way. The affogato here is on another level. Most places serve it in a paper cup where the espresso and gelato just blend into a mushy mess. Not here. Carrara's presents it beautifully on a stone tray, with a proper espresso cup and a transparent glass so you can actually see the layers of gelato and espresso. And Ama personally poured the espresso tableside, which really topped off the whole experience. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

What is Black, White, and Udder-ly adorable??…read more No, it is not me in the Tuxedo that I'm wearing right now as we speak... but good guess! =) It's a Cow of Course!! Hey, I'm a Dad and Dad jokes are what we Dads do best! Alright enough shenanigans. I'm going to attempt something different here. I am going to write this review using common COW IDIOMS. Wait! You don't know what a Cow is?? Well, It's a four-legged mammal from the Bovidae Family, also known as Cattle. They can produce milk and are the Main source of Beef. Fun Fact: Some eateries even using "cows" as their Mascot. Oh, you weren't talking about the Cow, you wanted to know what an Idiom was... my Bad lol. Well, An Idiom is "a group of words established by usage as having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words." Thank You Google for that definition! And after reading what an Idiom was, apparently I didn't know what it actually meant either... haha Anywho... Let's "Take this Bull by the Horns" and get this review of Little Calf Creamery and Cafe on the road. Without a doubt, The "Cash Cow" to this little local establishment is probably not the CAFE part, but my guess, it's the CREAMERY half of the business. I mean, who doesn't Love Ice Cream??? Scoops, Sundaes, & Sandwiches all loaded with your favorite creamy dessert?? Yes, Please!! And trust me, every time I come here with my kids, They are "Like a Bull at a Gate" trying to get to the front of the line to place their order for their favorite flavor of Ice Cream. My first thought, slow your roll kids. Dinner first, then we can discuss Dessert. Fast forward to when we get our food.... Some of what I'm about to say is TRUE, but the rest may or may not be "Bull$h1t" that I just made up.... Kid #1 (the oldest): "Daddy, they put ketchup on my hamburger; I didn't want ketchup" Me: "Here's a napkin, just wipe it off" Kid #2 (the middle child): "Daddy, I'm full" Me: "Take 2 more bites please." 8 seconds later.... Kid #2: "Can we get Ice Cream now?" Me: I thought you were full. Kid #2: I took my two bites, how bout that Ice Cream? Kid #2: One Daddy: Zero Kid #3 (she's the baby): "Daddy, I pooped" Me: (to my wife) "hey Babe, I love you...." My Wife: (without skipping a beat) "Diapers are in the car" Me: Yes, dear (lol) Well that's settles that. And I know what you are all thinking... "Holy Cow!" That was close one! Hey, I'm not ready to "Buy the Farm" over no diaper change... I haven't even had my Ice Cream yet. ;) Ok, ok I know it feels like you have been waiting "until the cows come home" for my opinion of this place on whether or not it's worthy of a visit. Hey! No need to "Have a Cow", cause here it is.... Little Calf Creamery and Cafe is a fun little local shop in Thousand Oaks that serves up delicious Ice Cream with some familiar flavors and also some flavors that will spark your interest... -Moorpark Road (their take on Rocky Road) -Roasted Coffee!! -Witches Brew...Spooky!! In addition to their Ice Cream, they've got lunch and dinner covered so you can take a break from the kitchen... And doing the dishes for that matter! Last visit, the favorite food item rated by the kids and by me.... Their Kids menu Chicken Tenders and Fry Basket! All I can say.... "Holy Cow"... We are definitely coming back for more of those bad boys. Until Next time... There is "No Cow On Ice" Cause Little Calf in T.O. has got everything under control.

The music is extremely loud--honestly overwhelming--especially if you're there with kids. It made it really hard to enjoy any kind of conversation with my family, and even harder to communicate with the employees (I could barely hear them, and they struggled to hear us too). The space itself is big, with lots of booths and chairs, which is nice--but surprisingly, there's no bathroom at all. We had to walk to Vallarta twice with our kids, which was super inconvenient. As for the food, we ordered three mangonadas--they were good, but not spicy at all if that's what you're expecting. My son didn't really like his vanilla ice cream, but my other son loved his Oreo blue popsicle. Overall, I'm giving a low score mainly because of the uncomfortable noise level. It really takes away from the experience when you can't talk to your company or properly interact with staff. I'd consider coming back if the volume was turned way down.

I asked the young man working what was in the cappuccino ice cream because it looked like some type of nut and he didn't know. We decided to grab a single scoop of the chocolate brownie. This flavor was delicious and perfect for a chocolate lover. I would get this one again. We also got It's A Goody which was vanilla ice cream with chocolate chunks and peanut butter chunks in it. We also ordered the cinnamon one, but we were not given the cinnamon one, we were given the banana pudding one.
