As a former blockbuster and Hollywood video employee, It was a nice dose of nostalgia coming here. There's plenty of movie memorabilia to look at and merch to buy. You can even still rent from them. Pro tip: buy the movie theater buttered popcorn candle. I also slightly regret not getting the onesie they had. Looked pretty comfortable. Def worth a quick stop if you find yourself in bend.
An absolute MUST when in Bend!! So nostalgic and some amazing memorabilia! They have a great selection of merchandise and movies for purchase, and it totally brings you back to childhood! We had a fantastic time looking around at all the amazing collector items and memories here! Definitely need to go!!
I took a roadtrip along the coast from Los Angeles to Anchorage and had to stop here and am so glad that I did. I also had my pups with me and they are PET FRIENDLY! I grew up in the Blockbuster era, a time where Friday nights meant visiting a location to get a Netflix and chill night underway. It smelled exactly as I remember - popcorn and milk duds. The staff here were all wonderful and the memorabilia were all great souvenirs.
As someone who grew up going to Blockbuster on a weekly basis, I was extremely excited to have the opportunity to visit what is officially "The Last Blockbuster on the Planet." Prior to pulling up in the Blockbuster parking lot, hubby and I were filled with nostalgia and after getting out of the car, we took a photo on front of the blockbuster logo outside of the building. Upon entering the store, hubby and I were warmly greeted by employees then enjoyed walking around the store and seeing various homages to the past including a living room set up from the 1980s, actor chairs, movie posters , VHS tapes for sale, horror movies, and highlighting 80s movies. The friendly attitudes of store employees was infectious and as we were shopping, we engaged in several conversations with other visitors to the store. The store is fascinating in that it is part thriving store where a person can still rent a movie on DVD for seven nights and part pop culture museum in the various movie displays. After walking around for about an hour, and looking at various videos and items for purchase, hubby and I left purchased two postcards, a lanyard, a fridge magnet, and a-shirt which were all reasonably priced. The shopping experience was relaxing, fun, and great blast from the past.
Bend is home to the LAST Blockbuster on the planet! Not only did I grow up renting movies at this location when spending the summers with my grandparents. I remember seeing it on the news when the other store closed around COVID leaving Bend's Blockbuster the last remaining store on the planet. Thats pretty cool in itself. But being a 90s kid, I had to take my Boyfriend to see the last one, there is so much nostalgia and memories that came rushing back to us both. This location isn't just a movie rental location, it has been turned into a museum of movie history. Though it is fully operational and the locals take their families in for rentals it is quite the tourist attraction. They sell all kind of trinkets from clothing to games to their very own Blockbuster ale. Which from what I heard are all made locally. They have signed movie posters and items from films on display, its quite amazing. They have over 21,000 titles to choose from and their prices? Incredible! You can rent a DVD for $0.99 for the week. New releases are a bit more and are 3 day rentals. You can rent VHS tapes for $.49 or purchase some for a few dollars. The staff was so friendly, they greeted us as we entered, let us browse, assisted locals renting movies. They even offered to take a photo for us in front of their memorabilia wall. I am so glad this store survived
Well yes I am old enough that I had a blockbuster card when they were still just VHS....( so that would make me .....37ish...). Anyway this is the very last Blockbuster video in the free world (at this point the free may go away before the last blockbuster... Let's hope not). on a day trip this was one of our spots to stop at and it is straight Americana! You can still rent DVDs or buy all kinds of swag here. If you just happen to be in the area, it's worth a stop for sure just to transport you back to old times... Damn, I sound old....Good stuff
A great trip back in time for people of a certain age. We were on vacation in Sunriver and this was the only stop we made in Bend. It's mostly a Blockbuster gift shop for tourists, but some lucky locals can still maintain memberships here. We couldn't leave without a bag of Blockbuster swag. If you are in Bend, it is a must visit. Just taking time to view the posters and display cases is worth the trip.
Flashback to the past and my whole childhood. What an experience. I found this place randomly as we were turning down this road I looked over and screamed to my husband "OMG IS THAT A BLOCKBUSTER!?!?!?!?!?", he whipped that car around soooo fast!! We ran inside like if we were going to be teleported back to our childhood. We definitely were. What a beautiful nostalgic experience walking in here. The last blockbuster on Earth!! They sell a huge variety of souvenirs, VHS tapes, and more different cool memorabilia! You'll probably cry walking out of the store just saying
I did the tourist thing and came in to look around and of cource, by a memorabilia TShirt. This retro store that actually still rents video is truly a trip down memory lane. Inside it it very much museum type item from Blockbuster of yesterday. The staff seemed very nice with a little undertone of, "Yes, all of this stuff was really "real" stuff from Blockbuster". I did notice a little sign that said pictures in the store are okay, pictures of the staff members needs permissions. I am glad I stopped in and if I could have found my original Blockbuster membership card, I would have included a picture of it, but since I threw it away a long time ago, I will have the memories of this place in my photo gallery.
How can I not give the last Blockbuster on earth anything but five stars..... It's nostalgic and now a unique icon of an era that once thrived with video rentals. It's just fun to visit and walk around the store, though they still function as a traditional Blockbuster in case you want to rent a movie.
In my youth I never imagined a time where we would be streaming videos + music and downloading video games. For the younger generations that were not around for the Blockbuster & overall video store era, there was a time where you had to leave your home to rent a movie (either a VHS or DVD) or video game. Normally there was a five day rental period in which you would be fined if you kept the movie or video game past the allotted timeframe. Although this method of consuming media was sometimes inconvenient and overall antiquated, there was something magical about browsing the movie and video game sections and chatting with strangers about their opinions (what is now captured via a YouTube review). The release of the 2020 documentary, "The Last Blockbuster" brought to the surface a ton of nostalgic memories from my childhood. Even better, hence the title, it brought to light the fact that there is a remaining Blockbuster video store located in Bend, Oregon. Fast forward to 2023, I was preparing an itinerary for a family trip to Portland and thought it would be cool to stop in Bend on the drive back home. As planned, en route to Sacramento from Portland, we made a quick stop at The Last Blockbuster. As I excitedly pulled into the Blockbuster parking lot (my wife was tickled by the apparent giddy expression on my face), I took in the signature Blockbuster logo in the signature yellow and blue theme. As we entered the store, we were greeted by a friendly employee located behind the counter. As we browsed the store, we noticed that it closely resembled the exact layout as the Blockbusters that I frequented as a child. For nostalgic folks such as myself, there is an entire section with Blockbuster memorabilia. For my wife and I, this was a fun walk down memory lane; however, my 10 year old son could not fathom why anyone would leave the comfort of their home to rent a movie or video game. As keepsakes, we bought two beers emblazoned with the Blockbuster logo and two Blockbuster neoprene beer koozies. If you are interested in witnessing a part of history, I definitely recommend visiting the store while it is still open (I'm hoping that the locals can keep it in business).
So many memories flooded back when I pulled up to Blockbuster. I spent a few minutes documenting pictures of the front signs and taking in the moment. When I walked in the doors, it looked the exact same since the last time I was in a Blockbuster, maybe 15 or so years prior. I walked throughout the store and enjoyed all the old movie posters, memorabilia and seeing a good ole VHS tape. There are a few clothing racks set up to market Blockbuster apparel and nic nacs. The two lady employees at the front did not have a great attitude and were not very welcoming. I wanted to leave with something other than a picture for a souvenir but the clothes and hats were more money than I wanted to spend. I found a replica Blockbuster member card for two dollars. I was happy with that!
Takes me back to Friday nights in the 90s and my dad taking us to pick out a movie. I never knew there was a movie about this place! Bring cash if you want to buy any of the souvenirs. There's a cool museum wall in the back that is pretty cool. I was surprised to see someone drop off some movies and go inside and pick out more. I hope there is ongoing support for this place! read more
Here is an opportunity to tell your friends via your Instagram story that you've finally completed that time machine you've been working on. Take a few pics here and they will be convinced. If the thought of seeing a Blockbuster makes you feel nostalgia, here is literally your last chance to scratch that itch. As a video rental store, this place is top notch. It still bustles with a fair amount of activity and looks just like the Blockbuster you remember. Rentals are from 99 cents up to $3.99 for the new hits. Keep them for 10 days. If your a Russell Crowe fan, theres several pieces of movie memorabilia here. I mean, who doesnt want to see his boxing robe from Cinderella Man? Its life changing. read more

Oh sweet nostalgia. First off i cant believe i made the pilgrimage here, and i cant believe this is the last blockbuster. Takes me back. Definitely a must for anyone who loves movies and grew up making it a blockbuster night back in the 90s and 2000s. Dont forget be kind rewind. read more

If you know what Blockbuster is and you are in Bend, it's worth it for the nostalgic feel even if you aren't looking to rent. Fully operating, this bustling Blockbuster displays signed memorabilia alongside, stocked endless shelves. Excitingly, this store has gained popularity after the Netflix documentary highlighted their success. This shop has persevered as its brothers and sisters have all closed as the world shifts digital. Branded swag, popcorn buckets, candy, and of course movies and all available for purchase/rent. Keep this treasure alive and continue to show support. read more

"Be kind, rewind" - Maya Angelou I didn't drive 529 miles just to go to Blockbuster, but it was the final stop of a road trip that included roadside attractions such as Rainbow Truck Village, Japanese Balloon Bomb Memorial, and Screaming Tub Mannequin (I'm not kidding). Unless you are a local, this place only serves as a living flashback and photo op, though there is merchandise, an exhibit of media attending to the novelty of being the last Blockbuster, the site of the Captain Planet flashback scene, and some Russell Crowe memorabilia (actor's chair from Cinderella Man, a handkerchief full of angry spittle following arguments with a director, etc). read more
So cool I just stepped back into the 1980s. I love the old vcr boxes, snacks & memorabilia. Amazed how busy it is, we're not the only ones here. They have blockbuster backpacks, T-shirts, even Blockbuster masks.... There's a large children center, new & retro films. read more
When in Bend you gotta stop here and pay homage, right? For folks of a certain age, who hasn't been part of Blockbuster? The staff were very chill and probably quite used to dorks like me just gawking. The Russell Crowe memorabilia section was pretty cool to see. I was thinking that they had the jock strap from Cinderella Man that John Oliver procured, but it wasn't part of the display on this day. Just for pure nostalgia sake, this visit was so satisfying. They continue to stock recently released feature films and TV series; the new Doctor Who with Jodie Whittaker anyone? Take a few minutes when in the area and transport yourself back about 20+ years. read more
So we watched the Netflix Documentary and two weeks later we drove a total of 2000 miles round trip! Not bad for a weekend trip and got to pick up some swag while there. I wish they had shirts but we will order those online. The Blockbuster brought back some great childhood memories. I hope this place stays open long as it can. read more

Ok this is a blast from the past. We wandered around and soaked in the nostalgia. They even have a little display of typical 90's living room - complete with Crystal Pepsi. The people in there were very nice and we grabbed a t-shirt for the kid back home who was dog sitting. read more

Bottom line: a definite "blast from the past!" Visited this place for all nostalgic reasons instead of being an actual patron. Entering through these doors felt like going through a time portal back 15 years. It's what I remember it being: walking through rows of videos/DVDs followed by struggling with indecision of what to watch; horror, Rom-Com, action, new release... should I get some of that video store popcorn even though I have some at home... how about some candy? All of these memories surged back and the store layout is exactly how you would remember it. As reported, it is the last Blockbuster on the planet and you should visit this place if you're in town. I want to give it 3.5 stars but Yelp! Doesn't have that option yet. And this time I chose to give it only 3 instead of 4... let me explain why.... This was kind of an impromptu last minute decision to end our road trip since we were already heading back home to The Bay Area and we were making a food stop to bring home donuts from Portland to the friends and family. Plus the BF really wanted to go to the Nike factory. This decision was at 3:30 PM so we would get to Bend,Oregon at 7ish. Google hours are sooooo unreliable and Yelp got the hours right! We also called to make sure that both locations would be open after a 3.5 hour detour. And we were off! Upon arrival, it was so nostalgic and it was also Saturday night so kinda of a cute early 00s date night. Like before Netflix and chill ever was a thing. There were actually locals that there to pick up a video and was so gracious to help/ are pictures of us! The locals were so nice and friendly. And of course we also recently watched the Netflix documentary on "The Last Blockbuster". We filmed the whole walking in experience and reminiscing and it was kinda a dud. Not because it didn't give all the feels of going to a blockbuster and getting to pick out that one video to rent to watch cause I really wanted to. Sadly it was the employees for me. Like I get it that you guys are probably pretty tired of out of towers coming in to visit the store... but its also giving you guys a job and it supports your town... so it's kinda of left a bad experience. I meant yes we probably won't come back anytime soon for Blockbuster but we supported the store. The least they can do it just be a little bit more cheerful like how they were in the documentary. But like I said the overall nostalgia of it gets 5 stars and the employees there a 3 star. read more
Was not on our list to do but we were waiting for our other party and looking for a place to park and happened to see Blockbuster. Decided that we had to make a detour and come here. All the adults had a blast here but the kids will never know!!!!! Asked the kids if they knew what the vhs wall was, they thought it was giant erasers..... go figure! It is an actual store that rents and sell movies. My cousin even got his rental card and that brought back many many memories. Definitely a stop here when in Bend. read more

I drove out of my way so my daughter could see a blockbuster. It was exactly what I thought it would be, which was fantastic. It brought back many memories. They sell shirts and other gear that is a must have and they don't mind you taking pictures. If you are a movie enthusiast go out of your way to see living history. read more
Yes, this Blockbuster Video is indeed the last location on the planet Earth. There were a few stragglers up until recently. I believe there was a location in Australia somewhere and another in Alaska but now those two locations have shuttered leaving all but one. This was kind of a strange experience. It was like I stepped back into 1989. There was a line going up to the front counter, the phones were ringing and some new releases that were popular were all rented out. Despite this being the last location open if you remember how Blockbuster Video was this one isn't much different than any of their other thousands of locations that existed. There is some unique merchandise you can get here with it being the last location. You can get t shirts, hoodies, posters and I believe sunglasses most of what illustrates the last location of Blockbuster Video on Earth. Definitely a minor tourist attraction in Bend and a must for the completist, braggart cinephile. read more

We drove all the way to washington to visit the last blockbusters for valentines weekend. Let me tell you it was totally worth it! As soon as we walked through the doors i was filled with so much nostalgia from my childhood it brought tears to my eyes. I'm so glad this place has been able to survive. read more

While staying in Bend for 4 days, we had to check out "The Last Blockbuster" (On the Planet) !!! Located in a small strip mall with parking out front, the staff are welcoming. WOW! What a blast from the past! They are a real working store, but they're also a tourist attraction with a visitor book to sign as well as memorabilia, T-shirts for sale, articles on the wall and a few Russell Crowe costumes. Browsing the walls of videos and stands of tempting candy, it really took me back to when my husband and I were first dating and would decide to go to Blockbuster for the evening's entertainment. It's not the most thrilling thing you'll ever do, but if you were a Blockbuster fan and want to relive the nostalgia, I highly recommend you swing by. And remember, Be Kind Rewind! read more

How fun! I was in Bend for a long weekend trip and heard the last Blockbuster on the planet was located here, so obviously I had to stop. Nostalgia overload. We used to pick up movies and pizza on Friday or Saturday nights as a special treat as a broke couple dating. This brought me right back. They had a nice selection of tshirts, cups/mugs and trinkets. It's cash only so be prepared. read more

There can only be one - and it's right here in Bend, Oregon This used to be the last remaining Blockbuster Video in the USA, but recently it became the last one in the world. Located here in Bend, Oregon just off Highway 97 and Revere you can join locals and hundreds of other visitors and see a relic from the 80s and 90s - a video rental store. Surprisingly a number of locals still pick up a Friday night movie for their families here. But mostly people come here from all over the world to take selfies in front of the store. We had a friend that took their Family Christmas photo here. EPIC. There is also a new craft beer named after the store. In addition to movie rentals they also have a small gift shop where you can buy stickers, key chains and t-shirts etc. read more
Sweet nostalgia. There's not much more to say. Pulling up in front of the yellow and blue Blockbuster is either going to immediately take you back to the days of crossing your fingers that there was at least one copy of the newest release on the shelf ... or you're going to scratch your head and say who cares? You're either a Blockbuster fan or you're not. My husband and I were totally reminded of date nights early in our relationship. We left with some souvenirs and smiles on our faces. Worth the drive to Bend in my opinion. PS. Titanic was in stock. Sweet. read more

If you come to Bend and want to feel nostalgic, you must make a stop here, the "last Blockbuster on the planet!" Wow, I didn't realize how much I missed those days of taking our kids to the local Blockbuster on Friday nights and letting them each pick out a movie. It was exactly as a Blockbuster should be. There are lots of movies set up on racks in different categories like "Classics," "Family," and "New Releases." There are video games to borrow, too, and movie snacks, like candy and popcorn, for sale. The main difference was it has Blockbuster gear for sale: hats, t-shirts, masks, cups, etc. And they have Russell Crowe memorabilia on display in the back: his Cinderella Man robe, a vest from Les Mis, and more. Although the place feels like a museum, it is a working Blockbuster. There were several customers there on our visit. I hope they keep coming back because it would be a shame if this place ever closes. read more

Wow, I've literally walked back in time to my childhood of Friday night pizza and blockbuster nights! I'm in town doing a travel nursing contract and drove by the sign and realized that I'm right next to the last blockbuster on earth! Everything looks the same like it did back then, you can rent movies from new to classics, buy movies and snacks. You can even purchase a cool T-shirt like I did I watched the Netflix documentary and I'm happy that this place is still alive. read more

We watched the Netflix documentary "The Last Blockbuster" like millions of other people. We took a short vacation from San Diego to Sacramento, then to Crater Lake National Park in Oregon. The city of Bend in Oregon, the location of the last Blockbuster in the world, was only a few hours away from there so why not? We made a side trip and even spent the night. Nice nostalgic trip. Going to the Blockbuster brought back lots of good memories. Plenty of souvenirs to buy including t-shirts, cups, and koozies. We managed to spend a least a couple of hundred dollars on souvenirs for ourselves, family, and friends. Bend Oregon is a pretty town too with snow-capped mountains in the distance. Though it has a population of 100,000, making it the biggest city in that part of Oregon, the city of Bend has a small-town feel. Did not think that was possible in a place with 100,000 people. Well worth the trip. read more
Wow the last blockbuster is perfect! It's exactly how the other ones were back in the day, but they know they are special so the customer service is really quite stellar! I came in and bought a couple movies and was really impressed with the selection and cleanliness of the store! The guy who checked me out was really nice. Overall I'm so happy I made the treck to see the last Blockbuster and I wasn't disappointed!! read more

So fun to be able to see this place! So many memories created in part because of Blockbuster Video! I was happy to see how many people were stopping by for a pic and to buy some of their merchandise. They still have lots of movies for rent too! read more
