I realize everything costs more now, and it was supposedly Wagu beef in the sloppy Joe, but it was very small for a $10 sandwich. It was tasty, but not anything I will dream about. The couple in the truck were extremely nice and service was great. I wish we would've gone for the duck fat potatoes - maybe next time!

The description read "Salted honeycomb, habanero and smoked gouda give this grilled cheese a deliciously sweet and spicy kick." The honey and habanero were both very subtle it almost tasted like a plain grilled cheese. I really wanted to taste that strong habanero spice or sweet honey and I really feel like I didn't get either and I didn't taste smoked Gouda either. I love fries too and the shoe string fries were matchstick thin. I've had shoestring fries at other places and they were not this thin. I did ask for aioli on the side and that was good. For what it's worth the prices are on the higher side. The sourdough was good. Make sure you read about where it is on Google maps otherwise it's hidden.

"The Gastro Bomber is serving up traditional pub grub with a Texas twist and the customary pub…read moreculture...good music and friendly conversation!" - From GB's FB page. So yesterday (10/3/2012) Keller had it's first pop-up food truck event. I was very happy to catch wind of it, for I'm usually late to the party when it comes to events. In attendance were Gastro Bomber and So-Cal Tacos (http://www.yelp.com/biz/so-cal-tacos-fort-worth). My plan was to order something from each truck, one as a way to show support, and two, well because I'm a glutton and wanted to try both. I looked over both menus and came to a decision. From GB it was going to be the Chicken and Waffle Sandwich. I've been wanting C&Ws forever, from anywhere, and tonight was finally my night to try this item. The first thing to point out is it was not really a "sandwich" unless you want to stretch it and call it an open-faced sandwich. Second, it was not a full-sized waffle, but rather something rectangular. It consisted of three pieces of boneless chicken and a drizzle of maple syrup. Cost, $8. It was very good. The chicken was tender and the waffle delicious. What I noticed, and confirmed, is that there is corn meal in the waffle batter. I was told this is the Southern twist they like to add to there food. It was like Belgian cornbread. Yummy! Now I will add my wife's comment, which seem to be true of all food trucks, is that the cost to quantity ratio seems to be a little high. Three large tenders on essentially half a waffle for 8 bucks seems a bit much. Now I came up with a new take on the cost and that is this; One, your getting to try something new and somewhat unique. Two, and here's the kicker, your bottom line cost is perhaps a bit less than if you sat down in a restaurant. If tips are expected at food trucks, I did not see any obvious vessel for the cash to go in. You can bring your own drinks, and thus your bottom line for a unique dining experience really is not bad. I for one am glad this came together. I was excited when I learned that Keller might be getting it's own food truck park, and was disappointed when I learned the plans were not approved. Somehow I think Keller's loss will be Roanoke's gain (Actually Corina T., aka the "shark lady", who I met at this event said that). From this point forward I will keep track of food trucks coming to Keller, and there are definitely a few more items on GB's menu I would like to try (Irish Nachos, Shepherd's Pie Croquettes, Fish and Chips, Picanha Sandwich). PS. If you missed it, they will be back in the same spot (at the CVS at the NE corner of 1709 and Rufe Snow) next week, 10/10/2012 from 5 to 8PM. One quick tip: Do bring your own chairs!

They just opened up on march 4th but scotty scott has done his part in the business as a recipe developer, food blogger and releasing a cookbook on called fix me a plate. Him and his team did a great job on their menu and brunch is coming soon. The play on words and elevated grilled cheeses made us want more. What a way to do wine and cheese on a date night! We started off with some prezzy plain janes and duck fat home fries. Home fries are like the cube potatoes you get with breakfast. The potatoes were cooked perfectly; nice and soft with a drizzle of chimichurri aioli. The grilled cheeses are thinner for the plain janes so you may want to do two sandwiches plus one if their signature grilled cheeses. I ordered my plain jane on sourdough and the bread wasn't tough which is common for sourdough! We ended up getting a bammy bird also which has an avocado alabama bbq sauce and has a smokey flavor. Yum! Thank you for bringing this new shining star to fort worth! Say Cheese!

I had the Bammy Bird and duck fat moma fries. The sandwich was a grilled cheese sandwich with smoked Gouda and smoked chicken chunks and an avocado purée. The taste was good but for the price I was hoping for more chicken. The fries as you can see are actually huge chunks of fried potato drizzled with the Alabama white sauce. They were good. The wine bar that it is attached to has a small selection of beers such as Yuengling Modelo, PBR, and a couple of local beers and IPA. There is plenty of seating outside in a nice courtyard with tables and chairs. My lunch was $30 with a tip and beer.
