When Blo first opened ~ they were the hottest, trendiest concept in town!! We were one of their first customers and it was nearly impossible to get in. Blo had many talented stylists, this location was always busy, and the customer service was out of this world -- amazing!!! Those experiences and that reputation lead me to believe that Blo was still the best place in town for getting your hair styled ... until I read their reviews (not just Yelp reviews)!! Honestly, I was worried about returning but I decided to see for myself. Long story short, I recently had major surgery. My daughter (the one I took here many times) suggested that since my hair is so long (and no one at home could help me with it) why not make an appointment with Blo. What a great idea!! She encouraged me to get a wash + head massage + blow out + simple style. I thought this would make for a nice treat for myself, easy and super relaxing. My daughter booked the appointment under her name and offered to pay for it. That appointment was wonderful. It was a simple no fuss appointment. I felt so much better, in fact, I tipped the stylist 50% of my bill to show my appreciation for being so patient with me. I was in a lot of pain and moving slowly but she worked with me. Since my experience was so positive, I decided to book another appointment, and if that appointment went well, I was interested in buying a membership so I could continue getting my hair done because my recovery time is one year. This was a perfect solution for my situation. My next appointment was a week later, on a Saturday, scheduled for 3pm. I was 30 minutes late for that appointment, all the excuses aside, yes, I admit I was late. My daughter tried calling on my behalf (she's a young girl trying to help me) -- but all they could point out was that I would be charged the "no cancelation fee" because I was a no show, they argued that they couldn't fit me in, acted like the landline was distorted and then the call was dropped (my daughter says they hung up on her). My daughter tried calling back, but they wouldn't answer. That was so intentional and unprofessional. All excuses aside, I was running late because the girl who colored my hair was running late. This made me late for this appointment. Nonetheless, my husband drove me there anyway with wet hair, so I could step in and see if they would work for me. I stepped in, three of them were huddled together behind the front desk, engaged in a personal conversation. Blo was empty!!! on a Saturday, not one client in a chair. They knew exactly who I was. I politely and profusely apologized for being late. I was standing there in pain, with dripping wet hair from my last appointment, and asked what they could do for me. They offered to either wash my hair and send me on my way or blow dry my hair (in my current circumstance) to my natural hair which dries frizzy. They knew no client would accept either of those options (much less pay for it). There were no clients in the building, no one waiting for an appointment, and only one stylist on a Saturday afternoon. I asked when was the next client coming in? They said at 4pm, and they were booked for the rest of the evening. BUT there was 30 minutes left on the clock before that next client came in, so I tried to negotiate for a quick rinse and a simple round brush to dry my hair straight. I know for a fact it can be done in 20 minutes because I can do it myself within that time -- but they said no. It was bluntly obvious that they didn't want to try, period. At that moment I realized they have a system that works in their favor. If a client is late, even if they have time to squeeze you in, they can refuse to work with you because they can. Why work when you don't have to. There was no manager to talk to because if there were I guarantee you they would have found a way to put me in a chair (I would have been happy to pay the no-show fee + the appointment + tip). $$$ This location desperately needs to rebuild its client base, they need money coming in or they are not going to make it. Nowadays this service is offered in many salons. There is too much competition for Blo to treat people like this. I was in tears. They had zero compassion for me! The franchise owner is no longer invested in this location anymore or this wouldn't be happening. There is no management to speak to or contact. The quality control and customer service is gone! If your appointment is very important to you go somewhere else because if you are one minute late they will not work with you. The reputation they once had no longer matches who they are today. Please read the recent reviews -- it's all true. I'm sure the positive reviews are true, but you're more likely to experience those bad reviews. I'm proof that I had one good experience and one bad experience. But losing me as a loyal customer (I almost bought a membership) meant nothing to them. read more

Got an email to use my birthday discount for 50% off that they emailed to me. I called and they told me that new owners took over and they wouldn't honor it. And the new owner didn't know about the email. The poor girl at the front desk tried to use that as an excuse. As a business owner myself, it's your responsibility to know and you should honor what emails are sent out. My stylist did a great job with my thick & curly hair but the experience was horrible. I got to my appointment on time and they informed me my stylist was late and that I would need to wait. When she got there 10 mins later, she washed my hair & sat me down to begin blow drying my hair but the outlets weren't working so she spent some time trying to fix it. Finally, she settled on moving me. Halfway through the blow out, I received a call from the Blo Blow Dry Bar front desk asking me if I was coming in for my appointment ??????? I told them I was 5ft away from them and they laughed it off. My stylist finished and I rushed to pay and get out of there and of course their card reader wasn't working. They took my card info, I left, and 10 minutes later they called me because they weren't able to process the tip I left.... While my stylist was great, the front desk staff were not helpful/annoying. Positive note: I arrived late and they were able to work with me. Negative: I think the stylist I had was pretty new because she did not wash my hair that well.. I told her I wanted very loose curls and volume for a photo shoot later, I got the exact opposite and when I had told her I wanted more curls because my hair was practically straight she pulled out a very small curling iron and it just did not look right.. I told her I wanted more volume and she started teasing my hair but you can easily get volume with a blow dryer and round brush combo.. I work in the beauty industry myself so I know how intimidating it can be when you have a "picky" client and I try not to be that because I know the feeling. Anyway, while getting my hair done it was such a quiet, non welcoming experience there were three ladies sitting upfront talking about their man/kid issues and some even went outside to smoke infront of the salon and if you ask me that is very unprofessional at least walk away from the glass windows..? Extremely disappointed in the customer service at this location. They do not value a customers time what so ever. I made an appointment and they text me 3 days before to switch my appointment by 15 minutes. I could not accommodate this request and let them know. When I arrived at my appointment, what a surprise to find out my stylist was not ready. She said about 5-10 minutes. Fast forward to, shocker, it's the time she wanted me to change the appointment too and she still was not ready. At this point, the stylist is saying another 10-15 minutes. I know they don't care I am on a lunch break, but the stylist is smiling in my fave as she cancels my appointment. Wow. Just wow. Stay far away from this location. I've been here a number of times and every time I leave with so-so results. I always specifically ask that my hair is blown out straight with a round brush followed by going over all of it with a hot tool (either flat iron or curling iron). My hair is very thick and prone to frizzing out if these steps aren't followed but for some reason my instructions are never followed and I leave looking good and 5 minute later, my blowout is dead. I don't know why I continue to come here when the result is always the same but if your hair is very particular, you may want to choose another Blo Bar location besides this one. Wow. I came here for hair and makeup for a huge event and left looking worse than I did walking in. Makeup: The makeup artist didn't even know how to blend eyeshadow or do a simple winged eyeliner, it looked like a 5 year old did my makeup. She also smeared on very oily foundation so my face looked like a grease pan (they use all cheap Elf or Sephora brand makeup). I'm glad I had brought some of my on makeup and ended up doing my own BROWS, LIPS, winged eyeliner (after her 3rd try I told her I'll just do it myself), POWDER and BLUSH. I had to put 3 layers (!!!) of powder over the foundation to tone down the grease. On one eye, my eyeshadow had been mixed with some grease substance so it had a big patch that couldn't be blended without starting over (which I didn't have time for). Hair: seriously? All this lady did was curl my hair with an iron and put oil in it (???). I have FINE hair, now it looks like I just put in a coconut oil mask. NO blow, no volume, not even a brush-out. I specifically asked to have the curls going AWAY from my face and even showed her a picture of what I wanted (a look I easily achieve at home often and quickly, but I was here to get treated). Well she gave me kid Shirley temple curls going towards my face with NO volume on the roots (very far from the Victoria secret locks I wanted). And my hair looked SO greasy and stripey after, HOW? Once again I asked to borrow their flat iron and tried to fix things the best I could in the mirror. I even had to stop at target and buy dry shampoo on the way to try tone down the oil because guess what, the salon didn't even HAVE dry shampoo??? WHAT?? I checked in and she told me to have a seat and someone would be with me. 15 minutes later no one had greeted me. There was only 2 stylist in the salon as I could tell, along with the receptionist. One was blowing out another clients hair. The other one was just sitting in the chair on her phone. I was pretty excited to get my hair done today. My appointment was suppose to start at 8:15 and end at 9:00. It started at 8:45 so we didn't have time to wash my hair... and this is how it looked at 9:10awhich is nothing like the picture I showed them. I wasn't asked if I was happy with it and when I addressed the fact that I waited for 40 minutes the receptionist just looked down and didn't acknowledge it. This was not worth what I paid. I really, really wanted to give more stars to this place because of their great customer service but the actual service was not exactly what I was hoping for. I have never done a blow out so I was very excited to try Blo Blow Dry Bar. They were able to find an appointment time for me very quickly and once I arrived they greeted me immediately and grabbed me some water. I was with a woman named Darby who was very nice. She washed my hair and we discussed the style I was hoping for. She commented on my fine hair type and offered some solutions to make the style hold longer. The entire process took about 45 minutes and I had some great curls at the end - I asked for them to not be brushed out so that they would hold longer as my hair drops curl very quickly. The only negatives to the experience was that when she was drying my hair she 'finger dried' with the blow dryer and her hand about 90% all the way dry and then started the process with the round brush. This resulted in not getting any lift or volume that I was hoping for. I think she also used limited product to avoid a greasy look but then my hair would not hold the little volume it received from the dry. I wanted to say something but since I have never done a blow out I let her do her thing but in the end I was a bit disappointed. Also, not sure if this normally happens at other places but did not really get a scalp massage during the wash which I normally enjoy during my hair cuts. The customer service was great, people were great...just a bit lacking in the overall outcome from the process. It was nice to get my hair washed and curled without having to do anything though. I think this would be better for someone who is going from curly to straight hair or thicker hair maybe. read more

Booked an appointment for 3 blow outs. We were 7 minutes late as we sped walked in - I take ownership of that. The salon was empty when we walked in - not a single customer or stylist was on the floor. We were greeted by the front desk gal who took our order drink and went to the back. After probably 4 or 5 minutes (which we were surprised how long it took since we were late), she walks back out with one stylist. We were told because we were "over 10 minutes late" they could only accommodate a dry style, no wash. Their posted policy says if you are 10+ minutes late they may not be able to accommodate you. We were not 10 minutes late but they very intentionally dilly dallied in the back to push us past the 10 minute mark. If I could describe their attitude it was of people who didn't want to work. This is just a job and one they clearly don't like doing. I guess they have a great time hanging out in the back and make enough money on their hourly wage. We called The Hair Bar, they squeezed us in and the experience was like night and day! read more

I hate that I have to write this review but I am very upset. I have been going to this boo dry bar for a year and I scheduled a blow dry on Saturday May 25th 2024. I had to reschedule so when I called to cancel my appointment on the Monday before, I was transferred to a lady that worked at the Dallas location. I told her my appointment was for Allen waters creek. She said she would still be able to cancel my appointment from her end. I didn't know any better and I didn't know that all blo locations worked separately. She told me that there was no appointment for me on Saturday in Allen. So I trusted her and didn't need to cancel a non-existent appointment. When Saturday came around, they charged me a no show fee of $50. I immediately called the salon and told them what happened and they told me the manager would call me back. It took 3 days of consistently calling the store being told that the manager is busy and she will call me back. Once she called me back I told her what happened and she told me that the lady at the blo dry bar in Dallas lied to me. I asked her what I can do because I did try to cancel my appointment and it's not my fault that I was lied to. She said she would talk to her district manager and call me back. Got a blowout Saturday morning before a nice wedding.. while the blow dry was ok, I've absolutely had better blowouts. I was charged $79 for A BLOW OUT. And a mediocre one at that. Mind you I have thick hair but no where did it say if you go over x minutes you will be charged $15 every 15 min you go over. It went 30 min passed the 45 min. Oh, they also took me back 15 min late so I was charged for sitting waiting. I have a call in to the manager, but I will likely not be back. $80 for a simple blow dry is OUTRAGEOUS. I pay less for a haircut and blow dry at a very bougie place. Robbery. Should have just went to dry bar. Manager still hasn't called me back.. first I was told she'd be in Tuesday (today) so I've patiently waited since Saturday and I call to speak with her/him and now was told they'll be in Friday! I wanted some cute beachy waves....I didn't get that. I got curls and they were cute...but not sultry Victoria's Secret kinda waves. I got a groupon and I've been to other blowout places like Drybar, so I was really interested in trying this place out. You walk into a clean, contemporary salon located at Watters Creek and they offer you with drinks and really friendly smiles and gestures. They give you a menu of several different blowouts so that they have an idea of what style you'd like such as a curly, updo, sleek and straight, or effortless waves. The blowout consists of shampoo, conditioner, blow dry, and style with products. You can still opt to customize it to your liking of course. The entire process was about an hour or so. It was relaxing though. Overall the experience was good. I don't know if I'd pay regular price for it. Their menu does cover more looks compared to Drybar. I guess it mostly depends on your stylist though. My curls were not bad, but they weren't fabulous. read more

After a few bit exchanges, it was clear the text message service would not work. Later that day received what I assume was a "no-show" charge. I called the salon again, left another voice mail, and tried to work with the bot text service again. I called salon a third time and left another voice mail. Still no return call. Instead of calling me back and letting me know what my options were for a reschedule or no-show, they automatically charged me, and will not return multiple messages. I usually go to Dry Bar for blowouts but I decided to come here since it's closer to home. My stylist was very nice and we made pleasant small talk. Just got my hair colored and I was worried their shampoo wasn't color safe but it definitely is! I chose the pillow talk style which are beach waves. She did them with a straightener and I was very impressed! I wanted more volume on top and she happily obliged. She teased it a little and added some volumizing powder on top. I couldn't believe it lasted the whole day! Better yet my blow out lasted 3 days... way longer than dry bar. My waves still held their shape... I only had to wash my hair because it was getting oily on top. Will definitely be back for more blow outs! read more

Heading to a work Christmas party and have my makeup done and clothes in the care. I drove from Princeton to Allen. I was almost to Blo with 11 mins till my appointment and they called to say my appointment would be behind at least 30 mins. I had to be in Lewisville by 6:30 so couldn't push it back that far. She tells me we can reschedule for 10.00 off and I tell her I only booked this for the Christmas party and she decides to tell me she guesses she will cancel it this time at NO CHARGE ummm you are correct no charge it's not my fault the appointment had to be cancelled. I think they should of still gave me a credit because I'm far from home and have to drive back to fix my own hair! They didn't even offer another stylist or anything. I had a terrible experience. It started with a call to move my appointment 15 minutes later. I get there for the new appointment time and still wait 20+ min. My hair barely got washed andI was soaking wet sitting in the chair after as she tried to brush and dry my now knotted hair. After many comments/complaints from the stylist, I asked her to stop and left with half wet, dirty, tangled hair. What was supposed to be a treat was ruined and a waste of time. I'll never go back or recommend to anyone. It's unfortunate as I've had some good experiences, but today blew it. I booked an appointment online for my daughter for homecoming. All she wanted was curls and a little bit a hair pulled back in bobby pins in the back. When we got there the stylist was asking my daughter what style she wanted. Which confused me because it says there's seven different blowout styles so I asked for the book. In the book I was given, one of the blowout styles listed was a bun, so I was confused. And when I asked about it, I was told that they could not do a pin back because that's considered an up do and we should've booked for an hour. He went on to explain that due to it being homecoming they did not have the time. However oddly enough a friend of hers was in there and She was able to receive the hairstyle that my daughter wanted. It took all of two minutes to put four Bobby pins in the back of her hair, so why we would have to schedule an extra 15 minutes is beyond me. But yet we both paid the price for a blowout. And then the guy at the desk try to charge her for a parade because she had bobby pins in the back of her head. If they don't know the difference between a braid and bobby pinned hair, that should be information enough to let you know what's going on at that place. Had they returned my call in the first place when I tried to book over the phone so I could understand the services we may not have ran into this problem. Left name and number for District Manager. So beware that if you plan to book a blowout online don't expect anything else even if they say they have seven signature styles. It wasn't worth my $45 to have someone curl my daughters here even if she did get it washed and blow dried. read more
