I was in search of another threading place since I moved out of the area of my last place in Richardson. I Googled and Yelped and came across Desire Salon. The prices seemed reasonable so I decided to give them a try. When I walked in, there was one person being serviced and one lady working. My wait was about 10 minutes. When the lady was finished with the previous customer, she told me that I could go to the back. I assumed we were going to use the same chair that the previous customer sat in. I really wanted her to wipe down the chair before I sat down. I didn't make a big deal about it though. I requested threading on my eyebrows and wax for my upper lip and chin areas. It took no time for her to do what I requested. However, I believe in her haste, she burned my upper lip with the wax. I felt the heat immediately when she put it on and later that night, I had a nice sized burn on my lip. I had to put Neosporin on my lip and I'm still using it as I type. My services were done 2 days ago. She actually did a great job on my threading and wax, other than the burn. Will I give this place another go? I think I will but I'll stay away from having them use wax around my lips. That area is way too sensitive. read more

You get what you pay for. I thought the eyebrow threading and Brazilian wax were good prices. First time ever getting it here too. Threading- could've cleaned up more Waxing- the armpits and pubic areas still have hair on them in patches She was close to closing but everything was rushed. Did my friend's eyebrows in two seconds. Did mine so quick that one had too much hair on the top. Asked her if she would have time for a Brazilian and she said okay! We went into the waxing room and I asked for my armpits too. She looked at the amount of pubic hair first (which was a normal amount of hair for pubic hair I suppose) and she said it was too much. I asked, so should I come back another day? She agreed but then said wait let me do your underarms first and then we will see. She finished my underarms so quickly. And then said okay she can do my Brazilian and to see if she can get through it all. If she couldn't then we might have to just finish another time? So.. let me tell you that this was the most painful Brazilian I've ever received out of all the Brazilians I've received. She was so rushing and I could tell. The eyebrow threading typically hurts more than a Brazilian but today that was so painful.... I'm disappointed because I wanted to give more stars for her staying a bit after closing. But it's not cleaned up and the pain was horrible. She asked if I was okay but I was clearly in so much pain. And yet she rushed to at least get the other hair off. I asked if there was no hair.. since there was no mirror around and nor did she hand me one. She said to trust her that it's clean. But I clearly have hair on all the spots she was supposed to clean up. read more

I come here every few weeks. This is my go to for eye brows. Be specific about what you want before you sit in the chair. These ladies are incredible but everyone's eyebrows are different. I never get mine trimmed and tell them to "clean up" the top and bottom to avoid going too thin. Thanks Nilam! read more

I will not come here for hair cut/trim ever again. How could she think it was acceptable for me to leave like this? After the finished product the first thing I told her was "it's not even". I tried to tell her but she didn't listen. I eventually left out of frustration and paid without saying a word and ran straight to my car. I know, what should I have expected coming to a threading salon to get my hair done? I got off work and was really wanting a trim and my usual place needs appointment in advance. I figure it's just a small trim, "I can stop by here and they have good reviews" They were nice ladies and I got attended to in a timely matter. First I washed my hair and they asked me if I wanted a straight trim or layered trim. The way straight would be literally one line across and layered would involve more technique so I said layered. Red flags: 1. My hair was pretty tangled after the wash, I questioned if they used conditioner. I realize my hair was damanged but I PROMISE I have never worked so hard to comb it out. 2. That's right, she asked me to comb it because she didn't want to hurt me. Which I understand and could respect, but she was using a straight comb and my hair is too thick I needed a brush. So I brushed it out. 3. She parted my hair not centered, which I mentioned but she said she would correct it once she got to the front. She asked me how many inches I wanted cut off and I said 1-2 inches to kill the dead hair. She cut more than 2 inches, which I don't care about the length because it will grow back, but the technique she used was appalling. 4. She grabbed a bunch of my hair from the top half and cut it while it was in her hand like how you would hold a cup, in a bunch. Very non consistent throughout my whole head. She did not end up centering my hair like she said she would. 5. As she was drying my hair she kept on cutting my face with her nails. She did not use a drying brush originally. She held the dryer still as she moved my hair with her hands and I had to move my head from keeping my skull from burning. 6. My hair was not dry. It was still wet and I told her so she dried it a bit more. It was damp at that point and she dried it a little more and then told me it was the heat from the dryer that's why I thought it was damp. My hair was obviously damp and cold in certain areas and then she said every client leaves with half damp hair or else we will have to pay more for the drying service... which I would understand (I guess?) but why didn't she mention it the first time?? 7. My hair was not even. I told her and she said it would look better if I parted it differently but I told her I like to part it in the center. I tried to communicate with her throughout the whole process but she kept on saying "I'll fix it" or "later it will change" but it never did. 8. In the middle of my hair appointment she asked to go do someone's eye brows which I didn't mind at all (even though this was my first time here). But the fact that I came in, had a short wait, washed my hair, cut my hair and got it dried and she helped someone else all in under an hour, it really reflects on the quality and craft she put into my head. Like I said, she was a nice lady. I paid $40 PLUS TIP (I severely regret) and ran to my car to cry in the parking lot. I have never cried from a haircut before lol. I know I may seem extra dramatic but I was THAT disappointed. Never again. I wanted to try threading or facial there because of the reviews and convenient location, but now I'm scared they're going to mess up my brows especially since I wrote this review. could be gentler. felt like sandpaper when getting my eyebrows done. the wax was too hot, no aftercare or aloe like other places.

There's only one other place to get threading done in the MCK and it sucks. It's not clean, not really friendly, and they charge you an extra buck if you don't have cash. Thank Jesus Christ Superstar that Desire finally opened. It's clean, $4 to get your hairy caterpillars threaded plus they don't act like you are an inconvenience. I was in and out in five minutes and dude...this place was SPOTLESS. I know it's new, but the other place across the street had dead bugs in the lights. Come on. This chick wiped down my chair as I left. I've NEVER SEEN THE OTHER JOINT WIPE DOWN ANYTHING. They offer a bunch of stuff, from heena to waxing, so go check it out. Hi! I guess this is the last time I would b visiting this salon! Went for henna(hair) today nd she applied on my forehead nd dint think of wiping even after mentioning. They dint even ask for receipt nd when I did they don't give paper receipt. They had text receipt option nd asked for my number nd wait 2 minutes for the text I don't get nd the lady said I wuld get later. 5 years back also had bad experience with them, went for henna(hand), I decided not to go agian nd dint go until recently. Went 2-3 times for eyebrows past 3-4 months. The lady never ever smiles nor responds properly! I only started gng as this the closest nd neat Indian Parlour. This was the last straw. I really don't want to even give this place one star not even a half,but I went to this henna salon last weekend and asked for my eyebrows threaded and my upper lip and chin. The lady who did my threading decided to thread my cheeks , even when I specifically told them what I want threaded and was charged $20 for my charge, if I was to go to another henna salon I would be charged $15 for the services I asked for.Then the next day approached and my cheek on my right side broke out. For those who thinks about coming here, I really don't recommend going to this place. I should've stick to the henna salon across the street , that I always go to , but they were to busy and went to my second choice. AND I NEVER BREAKOUT FROM GETTING THREADING read more

Fantastic salon with THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. To who ever rejected the service in middle for no reason- Thank you for successfully rejecting the service and asked me to JUST WALK OUT OF THE STORE. Here is what happened: I walked in to Desire salon and threading store in MCKinney on April 19th around 5:18 PM and was treated by stylist around 5:40pm. This is ok as there is only one stylist working in store at that moment. Stylist: to me- what are you getting done Me: eyebrows threading and upper lip and waxing. Stylist : ok have a seat , will be back Me: sat back and waiting . Stylist : after 5 min. What are you doing again? Me: eyebrows threading , upper lip, chin and legs waxing. If possible forehead too. Stylist : go sit on chair 2 Me : sat Stylist: started doing threading with some disappointed. * at this point I wasn't sure what's going on After completing right side eyebrow, I was asked to remove my hand from right eyebrow Stylist: completes the middle part and starts the left eye and asked me to hold tight. Me: stopped her from threading by closing my hand on eye - basically not letting her do the left eye as I started to suffer some pain. Requested her to hand me a tissue to wipe my tear. Stylist: on a different tone " don't talks with me like that and walk out of my store" Me: at this point I am so confused as I haven't uttered a work other than asking a tissue to wipe my eye and have a second to bear some pain. She continued to say " I am not doing any service with you please walk out" This happens like for 3 min and I asked 'you can't stop the service in b/w and requested to explain the reason. Stylist: I am not talking to you, and I am not doing service to you . I can complete the left eye and you walk out of store. After completing, she had me pay $10. By this time I was asking her name and details to reject the service. Which I was not provided . After 10 min of ignorance she thrower the owners visiting card. Me: just walked out with heavy heart and called the owner. Yes I said heavy as I have BIG plans for next day. Got in to the car, and called the owner 'pyanita'. Both the owners was nice requesting and begging to calm down and not put a bad review out where in reality I have recommended this store to my friends and community ladies. At the very end of phone conversation with one of the owner ; I am made aware that the stylist is on ROSA (where Muslims past for the day in the Goli month of Ramadan) and did a mistake which should have done . They I recollected my memory where the stylist was jovially speaking and laughing and at end said "Eid Mubarak" Am I living on a different world where the service in a mixed salon is rejected for non muslins. What a great insult to be remembered for ages. if given, I would have chosen a zero. read more

There's nothing worse than someone taking off too much of your eye brow. I've used this place for nearly three years with great results. The last three times (2 of them leaving me in tears) I've seen new faces & it's been a pretty terrible experience. Today is no exception. Please be causations. This is the only place I go for a full face thread and root touch up! The full face thread is a no brainer, but when I found out they do hair color, I was intrigued and decided to go ahead and trust my hair (roots) to their capable hands and haven't looked back since! I kinda want a refund... My cousin and I went to go get our lashes done, and when they lady had finished I had noticed right away that they were uncomfortable and the reason they were uncomfortable was because the lady had glued most of the lashes to my eyelid. While she was doing my cousins lashes I was trying to pick them up so they would move up and not rest on my eyelid... lashes are not supposed to be glued to your eyelid. read more

My daughter and I did not have an appointment but we needed our eyebrows tamed lol. We walked in and were given a seat within 5 minutes. We got our eyebrows threaded for $6 each. The ladies did a great job. They were friendly and fast. We had never been to this location before but I would go back. My daughter was not as happy with her results but she doesn't have much eyebrows to begin with. She felt that a little too much was taken off the ends and her eyebrows looked short lol. So I guess...if you have a lot of eyebrows it's a good place...if you have not too much you should explain how you want your eyebrows to look before your person start threading. read more

This is my first threading place that I have been to in Texas and so far I am impressed. The shop is clean, the workers are nice, the service is great, and the prices are very reasonable. I went to another threading shop to get my eyebrows threaded due to it being closer to where I lived at. The salon charged twice as much and did somewhat a lousy job compared to this place.
