Let me start by saying, the end result of my hair, I LOVED, but the prices for the end result I must say - it was kinda sorta brutal. I chose to come here because it SHOULD BE quick and the pricing is affordable for a wash & style. In and out, voluminous clean hair. Long story short, DryBar says on their mission statement that they provide to "people of all hair types". The many times I've been, for some odd reason, when it comes to styling and working with thick, kinky curly, natural hair, the majority of stylists are timid. Like they're scared to really perform. Almost like they don't have the training to work with this type of hair. Which is unacceptable when I'm paying to have a relaxing experience. I loved how Angel finished my hair, it was beautiful, but she took 2 1/2 hours. That's crazy. Then I go to check out and find out about their policy that if the STYLIST takes longer than an hour and a half or so, the CUSTOMER is charged an additional $30. Make it make sense. Why punish the customer, for the speed and lack of experience from the STYLIST?! That's crazy. At the end of the day, to be inclusive of all hair types, the stylists should be trained professionally on how to work confidently with all hair types. read more

I've never given a negative review, but after waiting 24 hours to think it over, I still feel strongly about publishing my experience. I was part of a group of 3. There was a little confusion about our dry style appointments that could have nicely been handled. Instead, the manager, Emma and other girl working the front desk were extremely rude and condescending. I was honest when leaving and let her know I would be posting a negative review. She said "have fun with that sweetie". I left there to rush to my colorist to have my hair done for our event. My friend who booked our appointments has been a Dry Bar member for 15 years... she cancelled her membership on her way out because of the way we we were treated. read more

Came to Plano from Houston for a gala. The experience was lack luster. The stylist was not very welcoming--a smile could have gone a long way. With the shampoo and condition, when rinsing my hair, water was going down my face. Not a big but at least acknowledge it and apologize. As far as the style went, she curled my hair as I requested but she put absolutely no product even after telling her my hair is thin and doesn't hold style well. Very disappointed in this location as I've been to others (California and Vegas) and the level of disinterest and low quality was really shocking. Went to the Shops at Legacy Plano location to get a blowout for my anniversary. I have very curly short hair (it reaches to my chin). Even though I had an appointment, I had to wait 20 minutes before someone came and got me. The girl who did my hair was nice but she seemed very inexperienced and nervous, as if she was new, and it took her almost 50 minutes to wash and blow dry my very short hair!! Plus, the mirror in front of me was covered by a TV, and after she finished drying my hair, she told me she could only use the flat iron sparingly because there was a lot of static. Which, I can only assume happened because she was drying very small pieces of my hair at a time. Overall, good experience. Not exactly what I wanted; I wanted big bouncy curls but nevertheless my style lasted the evening and I looked and felt great. Lexi was very sweet and worked very hard on my hair. A little annoyed at the one drink policy though; never had a dry bar refuse me a second mimosa. I had a long day at work, sipping on mimosa is part of the experience for me. Like come on, they charge $45 for a blowout and have a stingy one drink policy. I love drybar and would always go in CA and when we'd go to Vegas. I have never had an issue with my style or overall blowout. I was so disappointed. I specifically asked for volume and my hair was so FLAT! Even my husband commented he could have done a better job. The overall experience was great and the customer service. Just the blowout was not worth it. I'd go back because it the closest to my home, but with a different stylist. Or, may try another salon. I've been going to this location for years and have seen a steady decline in the quality of service!! Went in this morning and experienced THE WORST shampoo and blow out I have ever received!!! I've had my hair blown out literally all over the world. Stylists always comment on how well my hair blows out. I usually leave with shiny smooth tresses. NOT TODAY at Drybar in Plano!!! My hair was a frizzy and dull mess. I told the gal at the front desk that I was not satisfied with the result and she called someone else to "fix it". So after much more heat on my hair and styling I left with a bit of shine because of the additional use of product and ALL the curl pulled out due to round two of heat and pulling on my hair. Left with no curl and a frizzy mess. Seriously could have done this at home. I called to main number - well the only number for Dallas DryBar because you can not reach the locations directly - and let them know about my experience today and how bad my hair looked! Thankfully they did refund my money, but I still had to attend an event tonight with bad hair. The reason I booked today was for this event. AND now I will need to go somewhere else for a deep conditioning treatment because of all the heat on my hair today and the frizz I am left with. No heat protection was applied to my hair. I should have known when the person washing my hair never really touched my scalp that this was not going to be a good experience. Sooooo again the DryBar at The Shops at Legacy continues to decline. And to top it off the receptionist seems put out to have to deal with customers. Not friendly at all. So sadly after years of DryBar appointments and a Bar Fly membership, I am going to have to move on to another provider. read more

Because this was supposed to be a gift from me and your salon would not run the credit card that was on file when I made the appointment! So what is the point of asking for my credit card online then? I'm sorry but it makes no sense to me! So I had to call back and had the salon reimburse my daughter in law and had the salon run the card that was ALREADY on file! So you see, none of it makes sense to me how the salon went about this whole payment thing! I WILL NOT recommend this place to anyone...if the staff is rude and make people uncomfortable.. maybe it's time to get NEW people in there that like to be there and want to be there to make someone feel happy and welcome! My daughter and I visited this location to get our hair styled for my 50th birthday party. First red flag, I asked her to style curtain bangs and she had no idea what that was. Second i asked for beach waves so we discussed how my hair won't hold them. I asked her to use every styling product she could so the style would hold up through the night. Half way through my blow dry I realized she put nothing in for hold. She said she had something to use after she styled it. That was basically a light spritz of hairspray. This location in Plano is by far the most consistent DryBar I've been to as far as leaving happy with a great blow out. Ashley is my favorite Dry Bar gal and I always leave feeling like a million bucks. I ALWAYS get so many compliments on my hair when she washes and dryes it. Nicole, the receptionist is a 10 out of 10 for friendliness, professionalism and accuracy. I adore her. With Ashley and Nicole i keep coming back and love it everytime I walk it. I told my technician that my hair is thin , flat and needed body but when finished crown hairs looked out of place and fly away so she added a smoothing spray. My hair can keep a curl for six days . I came here the other day to get my hair done and thought this was just a-okay and not worth the significant cost associated with a blow out. To start, the service is great and the staff are extremely friendly. They really make you feel comfortable and at home. They have a drink and snacks ready for you as soon as you go inside. Talk about comfort and a welcoming attitude! It really made me feel at home. They also take an incredible amount of time to wash and massage your scalp. It feels so heavenly. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of (which to be honest was why I came here) was the quality of the blowout. I really wanted silky, curly hair that would at least last till the afternoon. While my hair looked gorgeous in the salon, it lasted the walk from the inside to my car before the curls just started flattening out. (No, it wasn't humid outside that day and it wasn't raining). In fact, the reason I had booked this appointment was for an important event that afternoon. Considering I had to go straight home after my appointment to fix my hair, I would say I am not pleased at all. On top of that, given I easily spent $55 (including tip), this place seems like a waste of money to me. To be fair, I have been to other Dry Bars and have had incredible (easily 5 star experiences). Initially, I was a bit skeptical about trying Drybar due to the fact that I was afraid the stylists wouldn't know how to do African American hair. However, I was referred to Jessica Earthly, and she changed my entire perception! First, let me just say that the atmosphere at Drybar is amazing! From the time you walk in the door, the bright yellow decor catches your attention, and then you're greeted by the bubbly front desk associate. Everything is consistently clean and neat throughout the salon. When I first met Jessica, she was very kind and attentive. She wanted to be sure to get a feel of how I like to wear my hair, and she made sure to accomplish that. Most importantly, she gets the job done in a timely fashion. Unlike most salons where you're there for 3+ hours, I've never had an appointment last over an hour at Drybar! Unheard of, right? To top it all off, the services are reasonably priced. For most washes and styling in the DFW area, you'll pay $65 or more! However, a wash and style at Drybar is $45, which is another reason they will continue to get my business! read more

My stylist was really nice, but the front desk staff didn't notify her on my reservation I asked for add ons to the shampoo, so I didn't get them and didn't realize when I should have made sure it was suppose to happen (I don't usually need to). Then, because it was so jammed packed in there, there still were no styling seats available. They did their best, but they definitely overbooked. I had time to kill, but it still killed the vibe. I've had better DryBar experiences at other locations. Again, because it was a holiday, this may have been an outlier kind of day, but it felt like we were just being schlepped in and and schlepped out without paying attention to details, which is not the typical norm for DryBar. read more

I had seen Drybar, but didn't think it was for a natural hair, American of African decent, thick coiled hair like mine Thanks to another Yelper, I visited on a late Sunday morning and had a great time. Hair was washed and conditioned. Blow dried straight to reveal its length. Honestly I was fine at that point. But lastly it was flat ironed and I was a very satisfied customer. Having not to wash my hair myself and having it come out so well - bonus. But the real bonus was looking past a place that I thought was just for certain hair and realizing it is for all hair.
