If you're stuck at home right now, good job you should be. And if you want something really good to eat to pass the time or to ship a delicious gift to a somebody in the US, you should try these new Mini Baked Doughnuts. Baked by Tarran Hatton, who has worked at Milk Bar and has also made many excellent sweets all over NY (most recently, the amazing cakes at Tailfeather Bar), these are like donuts just in shape, and are more like moist little mini cakes. There are tons of flavors to try - my favorite so far was the Brooklyn Blackout. Order some local delivery now if you are in NYC for a nice treat at home, or get some shipped - since they are baked, they will hold up much better than traditional doughnuts.

Came across BlissBomb while googling NYC donuts. I've previously ordered donuts to go for office parties from Doughnuttery, Doughnut Plant and Donut Pub before. This was my first time trying Bliss Bomb and I was not disappointed! Dan from the company was very helpful answering my questions and I arranged my order directly through him. I liked that BlissBomb's donuts were small enough that people could each take their own and try multiple flavors. I ordered 40 donuts and they arrived neatly in two boxes, with a computer printout in each box outlining the flavors within (super helpful!). From the ones that I tried, the Café Mocha was my favorite, followed by the Brooklyn Blackout. The Bourbon one was a little bit too citrusy for my taste. The apple cinnamon and holiday flavors were also a hit. I would certainly order from this vendor again for a party or to send as a gift to family/friends.

Gourmet donuts from NY to NE

When your brother-in-law retires after 33 years with the NE State Patrol, you send him the best donuts you can. Didn't get a photo before he dug in...guess that's the best kind of review you can give. These donuts are the bomb!

These are very tasty however it's a stretch to call them donuts. They look and have the consistency of mini bundt cakes....

I walked in and realized one of their donuts was going to at least spread out for over 2 days for me. The flavors looked so delicious. I decided to go for 'Toasted Coconut'. Amazing nutmeg-y finish and I have to say I love the yeastiness of the donut - did not feel like straight up sugar, but felt like a complex cake/bread - the sourness did come through. The donut has body and texture. My donut world has changed from now on. If I encounter donut people, I will definitely recommend this place. And maybe next year try one of their other amazing flavors. It did cost me $6.80 but I'm telling you these are gigantic - one for 2 people I'd say. The place is simple, cute and clean - standard NYC modern shop. So not much to report here.

It's a small shop, but it wasn't crowded, so I was able to see all of the flavors they had. The Hibiscus is what put them on the map, so I had to try that. Just so you know, I don't have any pictures of it because I ate it immediately! Don't judge me. 5/5 I also had the strawberry shortcake. Very fresh, nice texture, soft throughout. I reminded me of a strawberry crunch cake without the cake taste. I like donuts to taste like donuts despite the name and flavors. 5/5 I swear y'all I wanted the blueberry lemon with the oat crumble, but I had to get outta there before I ate another thing. I promised myself I would get it when I came back! Dough has delicious donuts that are thoughtfully crafted. Check them out. They have SIX locations throughout New York. Til we eat again....

The Boston cream had a rich, smooth filling with the perfect chocolate glaze, and the strawberry sprinkles donut was perfectly sweet and nostalgic. What makes this place special is that it's both affordable and consistently delicious! They have all the classic flavors but also some specialty donuts if you want to try something different. The old-school ambiance gives it a real Brooklyn charm, and it feels like stepping back in time. Just remember to bring cash because it's cash only; but it's absolutely worth it.

The shop has a retro vibe reminiscent of a 1950s diner, offering a wide range of pastries, sandwiches, and breakfast options, making it a beloved local fixture for over 60 years. During a visit to Greenpoint, Brooklyn, I decided to explore the local food scene. As I researched, this donut shop kept coming up as a top favorite among locals. My daughter and I stepped inside, and it was buzzing with activity. The place had a nostalgic feel, and it's a cash-only establishment. There are so many donuts to choose from, but my daughter went with a Red Velvet, while I opted for a Sugar Raise--a classic sugar donut because it was my first time here and I wanted something simple. The donuts were decent. The Sugar Raise wasn't extraordinary, but it was fresh. I gave my daughter's Red Velvet a try, but it didn't quite hit the mark; instead of a subtle cocoa-vanilla flavor, it was pretty heavy on the chocolate. The service was friendly, and I'm glad we took the chance to visit this longstanding bakery, which has been around for more than six decades.

Anyways, one order of the mini donuts, they are super customizable and if you need help picking and choosing flavors and toppings, the staff member can provide suggestions and pairings. I got the Ube and Pistachio and they both taste great, especially when they're freshly made and warm. I've also tried the Strawberry Covered Chocolates and those strawberries were massive. The problem with massive strawberries is eating them. If I had a knife, I could cut them into smaller pieces as eating them on a skewer stick got really messy. Also the strawberry itself overpowered any of the chocolate taste, so it didn't balance well in terms of taste. For sure favored the milk chocolate over the dark chocolate.

I opted for the mini donuts with strawberry and ube flavors with sprinkle and snowy milk as the toppings. I also added fresh strawberries - and did I mention that the donuts are made fresh? All of that for just $13. I loved the mochi texture of these treats and I am looking forward to trying to new flavors next time! I was also eyeing the croffles because they looked almost like ice creams. You can get these to go or if you'd like to eat as you roam around, the owner will put them in a paper boat/container for you. She was so patient and makes all of her treats fresh it seems. Can't wait to come back to try the croffles!

I'm talking about an establishment that makes high-quality gourmet treats. As you can imagine, I was thrilled to see this one opening in the neighborhood last year. I have been to Caroline's several times since it opened its doors to the public. I've tried a few of their items, including the glazed twist, Boston creme, coffee donut, and strawberry filled. The glaze twist is one of my favorites. It's wonderfully sweet while not cloying, and I especially enjoy topping it with the Bon Mama berry jam I have at home. The Boston creme is truly made with love. It's sufficiently stuffed with creme and topped with a thick layer of chocolate ganache - the expensive stuff! The coffee donut is also delicious. Of everything I've tried, the strawberry filled was my favorite. You can tell their strawberry compote is homemade and not too sweet. The dough is light and fluffy and generously coated with granulated sugar. What a treat!
