The space at Bliss Kitchen is inviting with a soothing pastel colour palette. We noticed the delightful aroma as soon as we walked in. We enjoyed the falafel salad, curry bowl, unicorn latte, latte, chia doughnut and blix cashew cheezecake. The cashew tzatziki sauce and house-made falafel in the salad were the best I've had! The coconut curry sauce in the bowl was a perfect balance of creaminess and spice. The unicorn latte was a soft pink colour and a delicious flavour. The latte was prepared with coconut milk and was super creamy...so good! The chia doughnut was slightly dry, but the creamy icing and dehydrated strawberry offset it. The blix cheezecake crust was made of dates, which made it too sweet. Perhaps if the crust wasn't as thick, the sweetness wouldn't be as overwhelming. The cashew cheezecake itself was smooth, creamy and tasty. The reason I gave Bliss Kitchen a 4 out of 5 is the serving size and the time we waited for our food. I was debating between the yam burger and the curry bowl. Our server suggested I order the burger plus an extra side of curry fries. I thought that might be too much food - as I was already eyeing dessert and needed to save room for it - and opted for the bowl instead. When I saw the serving size, I understood why she had suggested ordering more food. Considering it was mid afternoon and we were the only two people in the restaurant for a while (two people sat at another table partway through our meal), we were surprised by how long it took to get our food...especially our lattes and dessert. At first, it was nice to have the time and privacy to catch up with my friend in such a lovely environment that smelled of delicious freshly baked goods, but then the wait became an annoyance. If you're looking for a delicious vegetarian or vegan meal in a quaint, laidback environment and you have a couple of hours, eat in at Bliss Kitchen. If you don't have time, order from their takeout menu or pick up a tasty treat to go.

Burrito bowl w sauces on the side. So good and filling.

Best vegan restaurant in the Hamilton area, and trust me I've been to them all! The food here is all made from scratch, it's super healthy but very delicious! They take it to the next level... they add a delish topping to their fries, and make a homemade almond feta that is insane. Everything is fresh and the portions are great. Average prices for this kind of place where they use organic fresh ingredients. I love it. And if you are not really into super healthy tasting food, try the falafel bowl or burrito bowl. Both are incredible. The falafel bowl has a Greek tatziki sauce that you would never know is vegan... so good. Enjoy!

Great menu. Great friendly knowledgable staff. Wide selection everything made fresh. My wife had the falafel burger and root fries and I had the Yam what I Yam burger with root fries. The kids had rice and raw veggies and fries. We shared the burgers and both were fantastic. "Cheese" sauce was delicious. Definitely coming back. Taking some delicious desserts back to the office!

Yummy felafel burger with root fries!

BEWARE: ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK…read more If my memory serves me well, this is the first time ever that I've given an establishment a 1 star rating ... and these are the reasons why: They were seriously understaffed in the kitchen - specially knowing that it was Mother's Day There were 4 of us and we chose to order one starter between us so that we could save our appetite for the mains The Bang Bang Broccoli took one hour to arrive... yes- ONE HOUR During this time we were told just how many cocktails would not be available because they were out of some ingredients ( and this was at 1:30pm on Mothers Day ) - but I must say they had water available and they served that at lightning speed Then 45 minutes after our appetizer arrived and after asking our server and anyone on the staff that we could speak to, one of the 4 mains arrived...which self respecting restaurant would: 1. Take so long to serve the food with any explanation whatsoever? 2. After such a delay, bring only one of the four dishes that were ordered? By this time we were ready to leave but eventually got the other 3 mains and had them packed and took them back home - since our daughter had to drive back to London to be there at 6pm - which she thought would give all of us enough and more time to have a nice leisurely lunch with a reservation for 1pm ... clearly Community Restaurant had other plans Now comes the kicker... as we were heading out I told one of the servers to please tell the owner that if this is how he/she runs a business it would shut down pretty quickly - to which she replies: You're right, this has been sold and will change hands in 2 weeks Good riddance And no thanks for upsetting my daughter who wanted to make the day special for her mother

Took a good while to make us sit in a half empty restaurant. The food came pretty quickly and service was just OK after that. The interior is nice. The coffee we started was very weak and lukewarm warm. We asked for a refill and the refill was the same as well. Hollandaise Benny was good, the Just egg perhaps cooked from the frozen ready was good. The Impossible/Beyond Sausage was good. The Hollandaise sauce was well made. Disappointed with the home fries quantity - very few. The Chik'n Burger made from Oyster Mushroom was very good. Crunchy outside and shredded mushroom to give a chicken texture. Just too greasy for us. Again the fries very few - the plate looks empty and not filling for us. IMO not good enough value for almost $25 all in. The Chik'n and Waffles, same Chik'n as the burger good. The 3 piece (?) waffles were great. The fries still less, however there some salad as well. Good restaurant, OK service. Food is OK, a bit pricey for what we got.

Copper Branch - Pura Vida tacos chicken "strip"

Copper Branch

After visiting the Waterloo Region Museum, it was around 2 pm and I needed to get some lunch. With…read morethe recent heatwave affecting Ontario, I have been eating fairly light and surprisingly healthy. I decided to check out uptown Waterloo. I didn't know much about it and decided to drive around. I saw Copper Branch and knew that I needed to go there. I saw the flashing neon open sign, found a parking lot close by, and pulled into it. The closest Copper Branch to my home is in Brooklin. I was thrilled to find that there is one in Waterloo. I was quickly greeted by a friendly female at the counter. I knew what I wanted to order. I got the portabello burger (I have had it before and have a weakness for all things portabello) and nachos (my good friend let me snack on a few a while back, but I wanted to experience the whole enchilada... or should it be nacholada?). I then needed a drink. I normally get one of the natural colas, but I didn't feel like a sugar rush. I asked the woman if she knew which beverage had the least amount of sugar. I knew that San Pellegrino would be fine, but I didn't feel like fizzy water. She recommended the coconut beverage. As much as I love all things coconut, I had a feeling that it had sugar in it. Sure enough, it had 19 grams! Luckily, her colleague came to the rescue and suggested getting the Steaz iced peach mango green tea. It is sweetened with stevia. Yay! At any Copper Branch, you order, pay, and find a table. Your food comes to you. My meal, including tip, came up to $30. It does get a bit pricey for decent vegan food. I don't mind it. Sure enough, the woman who helped me with my sugar-free drink came with my nachos and portabello mushroom burger. The burger was fabulous. The portabello was meaty and grilled to perfection. I loved the garlicky mayo. I am not a huge fan of zucchini, but grill them as slices in a burger and I'm fine. This burger was scrumptious. The nachos were amazing. I loved the cheeze, black beans, and cubed veggies. The dairy-free sour cream and guacamole were amazing with the nachos chips. I ate everything up. The place has a relaxed setting. It was nice to unwind and enjoy my food. The washrooms are clean. Essentially, they are gender-neutral. I am so happy that Copper Branch is close by the hotel. I am definitely coming back when I crave decent plant-based food. (245)

My smoked tempeh sandwich had none of the provolone cheese it was supposed to have. They forgot my cinnamon bun and the pumpkin spiced latte was bland with no sugar. We stumbled upon this place when the ramen place we'd originally planned on going to was too crowded, and I'm glad we did! It was quiet and chill, and we were able to happily hang out for a while. There were good gluten-free options, and the whole menu is vegetarian, with lots of vegan choices. I had a really great vegan reuben; I've had a number of vegan reubens in my day, and this was one of the better ones (made with tempeh, so more appealing to those who like more natural, unprocessed foods.) Prices are great; around $13 for a sandwich. There aren't a ton of good vegetarian places in Guelph, but this is a solid option. Warning to my fellow Americans who are visiting here: they only take cash, or *Canadian* debit cards!
