When my husband and I bought our house we invested in some nice blinds that we both really liked for our living room. Called David and he promptly got back to me. He was right on time for the appointment. I have an almost 8 foot blind that wouldn't go up or down and another normal size, that needed cord replacement. The 8 ft blind had a cracked (demolished) mechanism. David took it apart, had parts in his car, repaired it and replaced cords on both blinds, which are 11 years old. He was finished within an hour. His prices are very reasonable and very good value for the money. He is very pleasant, polite and efficient. I cannot recommend David more highly. read more

I am a builder and I feel that good communication is the one of the most important parts about doing business. Communication is the number one thing that people look at and need. They wanna know what's happening and they want transparency. Even if I'm too busy to take a job I am never too busy to return a phone call. Not returning phone calls, to me, reflects not only on oneself but the person who gave the referral. David seems to have several good reviews. That's fine and dandy. I'm a professional and I expect a certain amount of professionalism. I called David one time four days ago and waited 48 hours for a return call, then called him again then waited 24 hours and the next day I texted him and Phoned him. There are window coverings that can be repaired and those that can't. Mine are over 30 years old, but have been well cared for. My 9 foot wide picture window blind broke a string last week, and I thought I'd have to replace it. But some research online revealed that it could cost hundreds if not over $1,000 for a new one. So I began to look for someone to repair it. I came across David's website. For some reason, I didn't comparison shop like I normally do. I just booked an appointment. Not only was he prompt, he arrived a few minutes early yesterday. It took longer to fix than he thought it would, but it's a big shade, and he wanted to get it right. He even had spare parts for some clips that had broken. $65 to fix that vs over $1,000 for a new one that probably wouldn't last? No comparison. And David is a very nice man. I have Hunter Douglas black out blinds from 1999 that open top down/bottom up. They maybe weren't installed the best. Some areas are too tight, and in less than a year of living in my new condo, seven out of eleven blinds were broken in some way or another. Several were hanging sideways, others would only move in one direction. Strings were snapping and locking mechanisms were becoming unreliable causing them to just fall down. David helped with all of that. He never tried to upsell me, which I greatly appreciate. Seeing as he mainly deals in blind repair, it probably wasn't even on his mind. He rewove strings, replaced locking mechanisms as best he could (they don't make this size anymore) and now I have WORKING blinds again. He worked efficiently and was very kind in all our interactions. I decided to restring all the blinds in one go rather than wait for the last four to break, but that did make the time go over. He adapted quickly to that and scheduled a time that worked the following day to finish the remaining blinds. Deferring payment until the job was 100% complete even though I suggested I pay him for the work already done that first day. In the end, he only charged me for 10 blinds. One he helped, but couldn't get working completely, and so didn't feel right about charging for. Scheduling for me was easy. I work from home quite frequently. That opened up large swaths of available time. When I contacted David I couldn't get in touch with him right away, but he did return my call within 24 hours to schedule something for the following week. For someone working on their own with no one to field calls and make schedules on his behalf I think that's a professional time period. Replacing blinds can be incredibly expensive. Especially if you want good quality. A service like this that helps good blinds last a little longer is really valuable to me. I may not have need of his services again soon. But he's someone I'd recommend to anyone who's blinds need a little tlc. read more

OUTSTANDING SERVICE. I bought my house 4 years ago and 3 of my Hunter Douglas blinds were broken. I wanted to order new ones from Hunter Douglas; yet, they don't make these type of blinds anymore. In order to replace them, I would have had to replace about 35 blinds throughout the house at a cost of between $15,000 and $20,000. I ran across Blind Repair by David on the internet. I thought I would give it a chance and he restrung and fixed them so that they operated like new. He even gave me the hardware for one which had broken hardware. He is a certified Hunter Douglas installer so he has access to all those hard to find parts. I live in Summit County and just dropped them off when I was in Denver (I never asked him if he would do an on-site repair in Summit County since I was going to be in Denver anyway). He had them like new in less than 24 hours. The price was exceptionally reasonable and all my blinds work great now! I wish I would have looked into this 4 years ago! We had an outstanding experience with David. He was able to get out to our offices right away. It may have been the same day as our initial call--hard to remember, but regardless was quite fast. We needed roller shade repairs, new chains, clutches, etc., for about 10 window shades. He did all of it but one shade that same day (no waiting!--we were just expecting this to be an estimate/survey of the issue), and he used far better quality materials than the original install, but it was relatively inexpensive to do. The last blind had to wait several weeks for a part to be shipped, and then he came to do that one. Just in terms of the interaction, it was very pleasant, very personal service. Takes his craft and professional service seriously. Sadly absent in most commerce these days. We'd have him do more work for us in a heartbeat. read more

While it took a few days for David to return my voicemail, he WAS able to come to our home to repair our blind within 2 business days of returning my call! He showed up on time, was supremely pleasant, knowledgeable, and respectful of my home. (I think it is nice when a person doffs their shoes at your doorway, out of respect for your carpet and flooring). After repairing the shredded pull-cord, he reinstalled the blinds up into the bracket without causing any damage to the ceiling. His work was very clean and tidy. I had three wooden blinds that needed to be fixed. All three needed to be restrung and one needed to be shortened in width. I got estimates from three different companies and found Blinds by David to be the least expensive. I was a little apprehensive because I wasn't familiar with the business but the owner far exceeded my expectations. He was fast and professional and did a great job.
