A sales representative visited our house for a consultation. She seemed friendly and chatty, but the first thing she said was, "I don't think you can afford us." She took a look around our house and kept repeating it. It was almost like she didn't want to waste her time. She encouraged us to go look at Home Depot and other budget providers. What she didn't know was that we were in the process of redecorating our small and modest home with luxurious fixtures. She knew nothing about our incomes, occupation or wealth and nor did she ask. We could, in fact, afford the quote she gave us. However, we were turned off by her biased assumptions and decided to go with a different vendor. I am still giving the business three stars because she did end up staying to measure after I convinced her to give us some quotes, at least. read more

I have aluminum mini blinds in the bedroom in two sidelights that make up the bay window. One of the blinds broke and needed to be replaced. After taking it out and going to Home Depot, I learned that HD only sells fixed lengths and I would need to shop on the internet or take it to a blind store. I'd rather use a local business than an internet provider so Monday morning, I took it to Windo Van Go near me. I had to ask for help, after three employees seemed to ignore that I was at the counter. Finally, after asking if someone would help me, one of the women came up and asked what I wanted. I explained that I needed the blind replaced, and she said that a salesperson would have to quote it and get back to me. I left the blind, since it has the color and measurements on a label. I didn't hear anything all day, nor this morning. I stopped in this morning to find out what was going on with this, and learned that no one had looked at the blind or quoted it. It was on the salesman's desk, but according to the woman I spoke with today, he had been on vacation and she didn't know when he would "get to it". Strike three, you're out. I guess if it were a big full house window treatment job, I would have received a different response, but i just need to get my blind replaced. read more

I had Window Van Go install some remote controlled skylight covers a year or so ago. They are beautiful, function as they should via remote, and have made vast improvements on the heat accumulation in my loft area. I had them out again recently to quote me for honey comb blinds on the rest of my windows because of the initial fantastic experience. Their prices are great and I love that I can control my vaulted upper windows and skylights via remote at a reasonable price. Also I mentioned on the last measurement visit that one of my skylights wouldn't show up as a recognized blind on my extra wifi connection package I bought and Andrew told me that they stand behind all their products and would make sure all is working correctly when my new blinds are added to the wifi app. read more

After having a big box store's "Hunter Douglas" rep basically blow us off we had somewhat less hope of finding attractive, durable, and affordable blinds for our new house. Luckily we happened upon Windo VanGo and set up an in-house appointment. We learned that the big box stores carry lower end Hunter Douglas products (possibly an OEM?) and that Windows VanGo works directly with the manufacturer. After receiving a quote for cordless faux-wood blinds that was substantially less vs. our big box store quote, we decided to proceed with Windo VanGo. Within a few weeks the blinds were professionally installed, and we were extremely happy with our purchase. Unfortunately we did notice some mild warping on a few of the blinds, as well as some issues with the cordless mechanism on other blinds. Windo VanGo was instantly on the case and had affected blinds re-manufactured. At this point we couldn't be happier with blinds, and would HIGHLY recommend Windo VanGo to anyone in need of window coverings (even those on a budget!). read more

The sales person showed up at my house 15 minutes late and offered no apology. She then asked me what I wanted, and when I replied, she told me condescendingly that there are a lot of options with blinds. She then tried to push an additional window covering on our back door, which I told her twice, I did not want. Then, when taking measurements of our windows she commented several times, in a tone of disgust and disbelief, that our drywall was "off" and then pointed out a dent in it. She also told us that our current shutters were installed incorrectly. When I asked her how long it would take to get a quote, she rudely told me she had 4 other appointments that day, so it wouldn't be until the following day. When I did receive the quote, it was $4900. To put it in perspective, another very reputable company quoted me $2100. The only reason I'm not giving this review 1 star is because the woman who scheduled my appointment was really friendly. read more

Stopped by the 'showroom' to look at some options for the windows in our new home after receiving an ad in the mail that said 'visit our showroom'. There were three other couples and ONE employee when we arrived. I overheard the salesperson say that pricing wasn't available without coming out to measure the windows. So, basically any visit to the showroom without an in home consult is a waste of time as they can bring samples to you. After doing a few laps in the store without further any acknowledgement... we left. Hopefully other elements of their business are better than the experience we received in the show room. read more

It is so refreshing to work with a local company that has amazing customer service and of course great products. We originally thought we wanted a sliding wood shutter to cover the patio door to match our other shutters in the house. Susan told us in order to do that we would have to come out 1' into the room, well the room is small and losing 1" of usable space is tough. Susan provided us a perfect option which was the Skyline shade. We ordered a white shade but during the day with direct sunshine, the shade appeared to be slightly beige. We waited a couple of weeks to see if we changed our mind on the color and we decided we needed to go one shade whiter. The shade was replaced for a whiter shade, no questions asked. Windo Van Go is supposed to be an authorized Hunter Douglas repair facility. I took my Hunter Douglas blind into them for repair and two weeks later (after calling to find out where my blind was) received a blind that does not function at all. When I try to lower it down, it wants to stop halfway down the window and with gentle pulling, it goes to the bottom on one side and leaves a 2-3 inch gap above the window sill on the other side (it was NOT doing this when I took it to them it just needed to be re-strung). I called them back the same day I picked it up letting them know how it was functioning. They said their installer was in my area and he would be coming to pick it up. He never showed up and no one has called since. What kind of customer service is that? Update: I took my blind to their competitor (Innovative Openings) and got it back in two days. The repairman came out to talk to me directly and said he'd never seen anything like it before: the interior mechanism had been installed backwards and had been improperly re-strung as well. They were shocked that it had been sent home in that condition. Innovative Openings not only sells the same products as Windo Van Go but also has competent service/repair. read more

Ordered a large variety of product from these folks less than 2 yrs ago. One shade cord snapped. Took it back (25 mile drive away, 36 minutes 1 way) to have the cord replaced. They called 3 times to say the shade had been fixed. Husband said it was in a nice sleeve that said DONE on it and low and behold it hadn't been touched, still as it was when it was dropped off 2 weeks ago. Am I furious???? The answer is YES! No one at the store knows what happened said they will need to ask Jackie the person whom was responsible for the fix and she won't be in for another couple of days. Absolutely ridiculous. We were going to order more product from them for our master bathroom renovation and there is NO WAY I will be doing business with such an incompetent bunch. read more
