I was going to suggest this small business for my family in Colorado after some searching. Seemed like a company that shares my family's values and was trying to get some quality work for a good price. But I have changed my mind upon something I didn't expect to find, on social media, of all places. A couple days into my correspondence I found the owner of this company, Phil Blankenship, commenting horrific things under Instagram videos of women. I do not understand why Phil is comfortable saying such graphic and inappropriate things, especially in such a random, unprompted way. The picture I included in this review is what he publicly commented on a video of an innocent young woman describing her hobbies and saying she loves skiing and scuba diving. What gives this man the right to regard women with such unfounded, nasty aggression? The tone and content of what he chooses to publicly comment on his Instagram page representing his business raises serious concerns about morals, professionalism, and respect. I hope the business owner takes this opportunity to learn from this rather than double down or deflect. What you say is a reflection of your character. Speech might be free, but actions have consequences, and if you're so comfortable talking about women like this, then your clientele should be aware of that. I know my family is certainly glad to be aware of it and steer clear of this business. read more

Phillip is the man!!! I have a very complicated door locking mechanism repair and he came out and tried his best, but he couldn't fix it. He refused any payment since he couldn't help even though he spent a lot of time trying. Prior to the service call, his communication was excellent. read more

Phil's windows are affordable, but they don't function for long and he doesn't stand by his work. If he didn't rudely walk out on me today, I wouldn't be writing this unfortunate review. Ten months ago, Philip installed four windows at a rental property for us. He was professional and showed up on time when he said he would. He installed 4 windows and was reasonably priced. I wish the review stopped here. I recommended him highly to others. We ended up living in the property ourselves 7 months after the install and two of the windows don't open/close without brute force and the two that are supposed to have panes that easily lift out (that we paid extra for based on Phil's recommendation) wouldn't come out. I called Phil to troubleshoot and to measure for additional windows upstairs as we wanted to do the rest of the house in the spring. It took a few weeks to get Phil back out, but he eventually came to take a look. He insists that stuck windows are not an "install problem," but offered to spray them with WD-40. He said he didn't know why they wouldn't open well. Then, he tried removing the panes from the other windows and could only get them out with a putty knife and a lot of force and told me that they were still considered functional and that if I didn't like the way they worked I could call the manufacturer. When he asked which other windows he could measure, I politely told him that we would go with another company (he clearly wasn't concerned with these malfunctioning windows). He answered, "Fine, get your own WD-40" and left. Honestly, I was shocked that he wouldn't try to repair the windows. He had been so nice and polite before- but when his craftsmanship failed and he realized there wouldn't be more work, he left me high and dry. Don't be fooled by his polite demeanor and good prices. If you want windows that operate, look elsewhere. read more

Phil gave us a great experience replacing our front door and he salvaged what was turning into a messy situatoin with Home Depot. The inept crew at Home Depot were tedious and slow in the ordering process. Then they promised an installation cost, but promptly doubled that after they had our money. I called Phil and he was both very understanding and honest about his rates. He gave me an estimate on the phone and then stuck to that estimate on the day of instalatoin, which turned out to be no small task. In all, we learned two very important lessons: call Phil first and skip the Home Depot trip. I have his number programmed into my phone for our next project. read more
