This Buffalo native approves Believe me when I say that being from Buffalo I know great wings and just how difficult they are to find in northern Fla. I was working in the area and had to try their Korean bbq wings and they did not disappoint. Good sized wings cooked to crispy perfection. The blue cheese seemed home made as well which is a nice touch I don't see down here often. I will certainly be back when I'm in the area read more

Very friendly staff. Food is prepared fresh when ordered. Burger tasted great but I asked for no onions and onions were on it. Wings cooked perfectly and great sauce flavors. read more

Big disappointment. I seem to be fixated on having chicken wings tonight. So I did a search to see what the choices were. This place had so many good ratings and people raving about the flavor of the sauces, and how well cooked the wings were, so it seemed like a no-brainer When I arrived the place was clean and looked like new. The server greeted me - friendly and helpful. I placed my order and waited. I was the only party in the dining room, but people were coming and going clearly they do a big take out business. When I bite into my wings, the sauce is immediately delicious, but I'm startled by dried chicken meat and over cooked skin. So I try a wing from the other sauce flavor same thing. Normally I would just eat them and leave. But the reviews have been so fabulous. So I went back to the counter and told them they were dry and they cooked me new wings. The new wings were the same as the old wings. (I can't remember who said that.) So sadly, I am crossing them off my list, I won't get fooled again read more

Stopped in at Bleubird Wings this past week. I wanted to try them again now that they have been open for a while to see if anything had really changed. Inside things have not really changed, though while sitting there waiting for my order (wings are cooked to order) I realized that the bathrooms that had been there back when Hogan's was in place had been moved to the opposite side of the store, which means that a full replumbing of the place has taken place when Bleubird moved in. Very impressive! I ordered up a set of ten wings with hot buffalo sauce, and a couple of minutes before they were supposed to come out the owner comes out very apologetic because he had made them garlic ginger instead of hot buffalo, and he had a new batch in and cooking as we spoke. He handed me the garlic ginger wings as a bonus, and continued to apologize for messing up the order and causing me to wait. Hey... mistakes happen. I get that. What makes a business shine is in how they handle the mistake and the customer when it happens. In this case, I applaud these guys because they handled it right. They owned up to the mistake, made things right, and didn't try to cover things up or send me out the door with the wrong order. I appreciate that, and will return again, because the wings are darned tasty and at a good price point. I also look forward to their expanded menu once they get the equipment to support it. read more

Ordered takeout for a gator game in our hotel and the wings were delicious. We ordered 30 wings with 3 sauces so we could try quite a few it was was great that there was a range of spice choices. The caribbean jerk dry rub and korean bbq and parmesan garlic were our favorites. We also ordered onion rings, mozzarella sticks, fries - all were good. Great football food! read more

Definitely a cool place located at the end if a strip mall set a bit off the road. To help in locating this restaurant and this particular strip mall, Publix is the anchor store and it is close to the Post Office. I guess that I could say that prices are competitive, however, wing prices have skyrocketed, causing many places charging a dollar or more per wing. So, gor me they are a bit higher price, but I guess many of these places are. They have a great range of spices, everything from mild to wild, so you should have no problem finding the perfect wing sauce for you. The blue cheese dressing was very good. The staff is friendly. Just two more plus points for a restaurant that have many of these plus points already accumulated. All in all, I do recommend this restaurant. Go check them out. read more

I highly recommend this new wing place! They offer traditional fried wings, bone-in or boneless. There are two things that really set this restaurant apart- the quality of the food and the quality of service. The key highlight of the wings are their crispiness. You will not find soggy wings here. The skin stays crunchy under the sauce yet the chicken is still moist and delicious. Some reviewers have mentioned the size of the wings. The size is comparable to every good wing I have ever eaten anywhere and are by no means small. The fries are extra crispy as well. I really enjoyed the coleslaw, which is a sweet and creamy style yet still with a good hit of acidity. We ordered hot garlic and spicy BBQ. The hot garlic is the best I have had anywhere. I liked the BBQ but it really could've had more of a kick. The ranch and bleu cheese sauces were both yummy also. This restaurant is miles ahead of many in Gainesville in terms of customer service. You are not just another wallet here. The owner clearly cares about his customers. He was very receptive to feedback about the sauces. I was amazed to hear that their chicken is never frozen and they make everything themselves. I can't wait to return to try the new things that are being added to the menu. Overall this place is awesome. I will happily wait longer for food that is made fresh to order, not that I feel we even waited long. The prices are fair. We will absolutely be returning. read more

Outstanding!!! This was my experience today as my 2nd time dining here. Maya (?) the nice young lady behind the counter is an absolute treat and I hope the owner knows this (I suspect he already does). Super pleasant and takes great care of customers. The fries are absolutely ON POINT! The mango habanero wings are excellent. I can't think of a single negative thing to say! (except maybe to wish it was a little closer LOL) :-) Keep up the great work and I hope your business thrives! read more

Excellence service and very friendly management here. Quite personable and she cares for the customers. The boneless wings were great. I am not a big fan of these places and grind and press chicken together and call it boneless wings. This places takes chunks of chicken and uses great sauce. Onion rings were spot on...Mozzarella sticks were good (could certainly use more sauce). Friend fries I would ask for crispy, but the fries themselves are good. read more

These wings were amazing! I got a 20 piece set of boned wings with 4 different flavors- lemon pepper dry rub, Korean BBQ, teriyaki, and honey BBQ. My personal favorite was the Korean BBQ, but all of them tasted just right. Not only the food was great but my server was a very nice gentleman that made sure we had everything we needed. They offer more than just wings, so I will definitely come back here and order more food! read more

Good wings & Good fries! I like my wings crispy, so these are a little too wet for my taste. Also I prefer a butter Garlic Parm over the paste style used. Other than that they are one of the best in Gainesville. Fries are good & crispy. Loosey's has some good wings too. Eat local! read more

Met up with some friends here. The customer service was great the lady was very friendly. They have some extra sweet tea if that's what you like and the food was good. Stopped in for a few wings and was pleasantly surprised at the excellent wigs. Nice job guys!

Logan was very nice and the food was very good. Per my 9yo son who is a picky eater: The service was very good and the food was awesome.

Fantastic! We were on a long distance trip, and were hungry. The first place we tried was having power outage. Looked and decided to try this. So glad we did. The chicken wraps are unbelievable. Tried jerk and garlic Parmesan. Both amazing. Still have wings to work on. Stop! read more

Bleubird wings popped up on one of my chicken wing obsessed searches. This is a little takeout-and-dine-in restaurant in the Publix plaza on the corner of Williston Road and 34th Street. Their wings are crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and they don't skimp on sauce. The staff is cool, funny, and very friendly. Really like the sporty vibe here and the casual service. I tried their dry rub, buffalo sauces in mild and medium, and their garlic parmesan sauces. All were delicious and I can't wait to try more. They offer fried okra, so I had to give it a try--- so crispy. Many other customers were ordering their chicken fingers, but I'm a wing girl. Their blue cheese here is addictive. It must be house made, because it is perfect with everything, including the fries. Bleubird Wings will give you some difficulty to find in searches if you have auto correct. read more

very disappointed, I love wings and did research prior to coming to Gainesville and Bleubird had the best reviews ... I'm not sure if the quality of wings is that bad here but this is not it..... the wings were fried very soft and were literally floating in sauce, fries were super salty, however the service was great and the guy at the counter was very friendly but I won't be back Fried wings should be a little crispy and there is no need to drown them with sauce ... btw I ordered garlic parm, spicy garlic (picture included) and BBQ (not in the picture) read more

This place never had ambiance above a 3 at most. Service is ok. The food however is absolutely awful compared to pre COVID. Fries got soggy and poor tasting. Drinks got watered down and the chicken wings shrunk in size, are no longer crispy, and taste like they came out of a premade bag. That's what the young public tolerates now. read more

In my quest to try all of the major chain as well as local chicken wing places in Gainesville, I stumbled across BleuBird Wings. It's tucked away in a little strip mall and isn't very large, but I had read reviews raving about it, so I knew I had to try it out. I like boneless wings (sorry, not sorry) more than bone-in, so I ordered Caribbean jerk and garlic parmesan flavors. The unique thing about BleuBird's boneless wings is that they appear to be freshly sliced cubes of all white meat chicken breast that are NOT breaded. This made the wings taste more lean and less crispy and crunchy. That was the only downside of their boneless wings. The sauces had good flavor and they have an impressive array to choose from. Best of all, they absolutely SOAK the wings in sauce, so unlike those other big-name wing places, you don't end up with dry wings. They also have food other than chicken wings that sounds tasty. Overall, I'm looking forward to going to BleuBird again to try some of their other selections of sauces. read more

Where I once rated Bleubirds the highest on my foodie food list; unfortunately, I can no longer do so. When I opened my delivery order tonight I was shocked to see the size of my wings. The wings that were once touted as being "bigger" chicken wings were nothing of the sort. At least not anymore. The only thing "bigger" is the price change for the wings. Def not worth it. The wait for the delivery order was also over an hour long and I'm not understanding why. Had I opted for pickup, it seems my order would've been ready in 20 minutes. At any rate, Bleubirds isn't what is once was when it first opened and I'm sad about that. They may still have followers but this foodie will be on the look out for a better value else where! 3 stars for the smaller size of the wings and for the price increase. Yea. No. read more

Stopped in here on our return trip from the beach. The whole family had wings and we split a large fry. Everything was great. The wings were large and I preferred the wet wings to the dry wings. I cannot say enough good about this place. Friendly service, great food, reasonable prices, extremely fast prep times, and big wings! Look I love wings! I love these especially. They are perfectly seasoned ( maybe a little to salty on the regular Buffalo) big wings that are perfectly prepared every time! We have ordered from here several times now and it is always good! read more

Gainesville is a highly competitive chicken wing spot. However the types of places that offer them are not too diverse. You either have a large chain wing joint with a bevy of TV's or on the other spectrum a dive bar where you have to put up with lousy service to get your wing fix. I was happy to be told about this place because it really doesn't feel like either of those places! The décor is wood planks and brick wall, clean and simple. It had the feel of what you would expect at a brewery. I like to rate wings on price and taste. The owner made us aware that the menu was getting updated (new deli type items and changing up pricing). However if I remember correctly it was $10.99 for an order of 10 wings. PPW (Price per wing) : $1.09 per wing. This isn't the highest I have seen but it's not on the low end either. I would consider this in the upper middle for pricing. Taste is where I was quite satisfied with! Out of the 20 wings we ordered a majority of them were definitely large and juicy wings. Of course you get a small wing here and there but with so many of them being large we weren't even able to finish them all! Made fresh to order, wait times might vary but we hardly waited at all and the difference in quality is definitely noticeable. Each of them having great crisp and holding on to the sauce well. We ordered 4 different flavors (Lemon Pepper, Garlic Parmesan, Sweet and Savory BBQ, and Honey BBQ). All of them tasted exactly as their advertised flavor and none of them disappointed. The Lemon Pepper was my favorite even tasting as good as Wing Stop's Lemon Pepper and that's one of their specialties. Overall this is a great local place where you can get great beer, great service, and great wings. A welcome change as for some other places you usually have to sacrifice one of those 3 things. They definitely care about the quality of the food and about the customer. The owner appreciated our business and showed it. I think this place still has some room to develop grow and improve. It's a highly competitive market and I think they need more things that further distinguishes them from the competition, maybe a special Blue Bird Sauce? Wing Day special? More advertising for a beer special? A juke box for entertainment? I don't know for sure, just something that solidifies them as the top choice for wings. For now I highly recommend giving this place a try. Fresh quality wings, house made ranch, and a business that showed me they care. They are definitely on my radar now and will stay on my list of wing places when the cravings hit. read more

Awesome wings! Went here the other night and picked up 5 hot garlic wings and 5 Caribbean jerk dry rub wings. Honestly both types were great, but I wish the hot garlic wings were a little crispier. I am NOT MAD AT IT!!! I enjoyed my first to-go order from Bluebird Wings. I ordered a 5 wing combo and since I'd just gotten off of work I decided to get one of their happy hour beers while I waited, which was a local brewery canned beer for $3. Food came out pretty quick; at least faster than I was able to finish a beer. All of my food was hot. The blue cheese was yummy and I decided on the hot garlic sauce for my wings. The hot garlic was pretty good. Lots of other reviews mention if the wings are truly "jumbo" or not. I think they are regular or normal but not small. The wings aren't breaded they're hard fried so unlike a Publix wing the breading isn't going to coat it to make it bigger. As a small person with a hearty appetite, I'd love to see an option to order between 5 and 10 wings like 7 or an option to add wings to your combo. Ronny, the owner, was so nice, helpful and excited to tell me about the menu and future plans for the menu (fried chicken sandwiches and more to come)! I look forward to going back and trying more. read more

Get yourself there. One of the best places to get wings in town. The quality of their wings was superb, cooked just right, and their sauce was perfectly seasoned. Great wing and beer joint. Wings were really good - hot sauce on the side. I'd try it tossed in the sauce next time. Lovely lady at the counter- very helpful. Enjoyed the playlist too. Must go back for the onion rings and coleslaw - we went too late and they were sold out. read more

Still love the food here. If they could only keep one of their employees off their phone the entire time it would be better. She literally never looked up from her phone the entire time we ate in there except when you walked up to the counter to ask for something. The wings are excellent! I was impressed that they were actually nice and crispy, the way we like them. Not only did they have friend okra but it was excellent as were the fries (which are so often mediocre in so many restaurants). This place is locally owned and we will be back to continue to support. read more

These wings are the real deal. I was up in Gainesville yesterday and was getting hungry. So I got on yelp and searched for wings. Bluebird was the first place on the list. We walked in right at closing but that was completely fine. Wings were done in 12 minutes. We talked with the owner while the wings were cooking. He was a really nice guy and seems to have a lot of passion for his restaurant. The wings came out crispy and cooked to perfection. And they were big. We ordered mango habenero and hot garlic. Both flavors were delicious. The ranch was also good and they actualy give you enough unlike lots of other places. I normally have to order extra ranch but not here. These wings are never frozen and you can definetly tell. We enjoyed our wings on the back of my truck tailgate because the inside of the restaurant is closed due to corona virus. But the inside of the restaurant looked nice and inviting. I definetly found a great wing spot. And its right off I75 which makes it an easy stop if you driving through the area. Next time im i Gainsevile I know where Im going to eat. read more

Delicious and because of social distancing and everything going on with COVID19 I wanted to go and support a local business and was super pleased. From the outside and even the decor inside you honestly wouldn't expect much but the place was super clean; the cashier who seemed to be working the front alone was friendly and took the time to answer questions and even casually chat like we were friends. Just great customer service. Wish I had got his name! This was my first time trying their food and it was so good. Just passing through and didn't know what I wanted for dinner. I just happened to find this place they offers 75 cent wings on Mondays. I didn't know what to expect when I first walked in. I was the only customer there. The person who took my order was super friendly. She told me the wings may take 15 minutes or longer but they were ready in half the time. The wings were really good.
