I love coming here for the community, the cold beer and the great TVs. I think the bottled beer is maybe the coldest in town? This is all hypothetical advice: I don't have a vested interest in this bar other than being a regular here but I thought I'd throw my two cents in about people not understanding the laws of this state. If you are a little boy with no clue how to handle yourself in a social situation, then you need not come here and ruin the good time the rest of us are having. 1) If you are nice enough at the time of ordering and recognize that everyone needs to show their ID, you are ok. 2) If you have a brother with an anger management issue, please ask him to stay home, especially if he hates showing his ID as though he can't be inconvenienced to comply with state law. 3) If you think that 27 is the same as 30 then you should go back to school. 4) If your rude brother wants a beer, like, oh say, Stella, he needs to show an ID for his beer. 5) If your brother pitches a hissy fit when he can't get a beer without showing his ID, he should stay home. 6) If your brother is a burden on your life and you need to defend him, that's really cute, but at some point you need to cut him free to be angry by himself. In summation, if you sound as though you are following in your brother's footsteps with venomous, disparaging remarks towards the sweet bartender you mistake for the owner, you should get a jump on things and get anger management, too. If your brother can act as though he knows how to carry himself in a bar, let alone a social situation at large, you might have an enjoyable time like all the other people who might laugh at you and your brother upon your shamed departure. If your family never got the memo that WA State liquor law requires you to have proof of your age when entering a drinking establishment, then all of you should stay home with your miserable selves. read more

Before I ever wandered in, this place was described to me as the dive-iest of dives. Because of that, I didn't really bother with it for quite some time. I like dives, but it was kind of given a bad rap. When I went to observe on my own, I found that it really wasn't THAT divey at all. It's a simple, cheap sports bar. I like it because the beer prices are cheap, you can get pretty lit up without worrying too much about spending a fortune or looking like a fool. It's also nice to have some pool tables and dart boards around. read more

For a place that calls its self a sports bar this place really missed the mark. I will say that it is nice you can bring your family in. Probably the only high light. Came in for the MLS cup final, and walked into a packed house (sounds good so far right). Come to find out there I only 1 bartender and 1 cook working. You'd think for a sports pub they would have staffed up for a Seattle sporting event. Especially if it's a game that could win a title. Was told it would take an hr and a 1/2 to get burgers and fries. Really!! Decided to just grab some chips from the Safeway down the street. After more staffed showed up tried to order again. Only this time being told they were out of burgers. Not very good management if you ask me. I get that a place will run out of food, but when you're a sports pub and a Seattle team is vying for a title you should have things better sorted out. Probably not going to be going back for another sporting event, regular season or post. read more

So I dont live close but my wife was getting a haircut in the area and i was along for the ride. Came in and had the nost attentive service i have ever had. The bartender (wish i would have gotten her name) was by far the best i have ever seen. Knew the names of the patrons coming in and had their drinks ready. Gave me a complete cheers vibe. Plus the 1.50 tacos on Tuesday were awesome. Pulled a tab and won $125. How could you dislike this place, simply one of the best experiences you could ask for. read more

I go to this sports bar regularly. If you're a sports fan living in the Greenwood area, I bet you have too. Good TImes Pros: Lots of TV's, Generally friendly staff and owner. (The waitresses greet my boyfriend by name. The cook is a little rough but he'd probably find this a compliment.) There are people here of all ages - I love running into neighbors! Bathrooms are clean. Decent food, considering the size of the 'kitchen'. They have free BINGO! Cons: Service can be slow because they don't seem to have enough staff on game days. No dark beer on tap. I would not go here on a Fri/Sat night when I've seen it turn into a trashy meat market. read more

Service is friendly, maybe a bit slow at times, but the friendly makes up for it. Drinks are what they should be, nothing exceptional. The typical bar food with daily specials that are not typical and stand out. When you add that to the sports bar part with all the screens it is great when there are 4-5 college football games playing at once. Sports, fair drinks and beer selection, good food and priced well for the neighborhood. I don't like the $1 charge for using a credit card though, it's not like the prices on the food and drinks are low and they have to make up for it. Also, quit measureing your fries and tots; should be a free pour on those. All in all a good place to enjoy a game! read more

Thank you bartenders, you were great. The owner of this establishment, however, was incredibly rude and unprofessional to us this week. I've been to Bleachers before, and like that it's a great place to catch football. I was stuck between home and work in Seattle and so a friend and I called ahead to see if the Winter Olympics would be on, (snowboarding halfpipe !) we were told yes. Bartenders were super cool to us, putting it on a couple of TV's and even putting it on the big screen when the UW game was over. After about 5 minutes, a guy who I eventually was told was the owner, turned off the big screen and basically mumbled something in passing about the olympics not being worth a special light bulb that costs $400 to replace. We were shocked and then further shocked to hear him standing behind us blaspheming loudly about this. Extremely rude, man. Next time, take a moment to explain it to your customer rather than acting like a drunken frat boy. We probably would have understood. Also it probably isn't a good business practice to put down the most popular sporting event this week, currently taking place right here at home in the NW. read more

Just your typical dive bar. Pool, darts, pitchers of beer, lame group of guys (my single female friends were displeased with the selection of men, haha). Happy hour from 3-6pm on weekdays. A jukebox so you can play D.J. Free popcorn--serve yourself a basket of popcorn from the popcorn machine. Yum. They have some tasty food. I got the chicken, bacon, and avocado with fries - it was darn tasty. The only knock I have on the place was that they ate hella slow when they bring you the food. If you are watching some football which helps the time fly by, you'll be good to go. read more

I find myself here after a night of eating elsewhere on Greenwood to consume enough beer to stumble home. Bleachers is a decent place to drink and be able to talk to your friends without yelling. The food is over-fried sometimes...which is fine once you are plowed, which again is how I always end up here. drink prices are good. ladies at the bar are super-nice. Good service. Overall - 4 stars for the drinkin, 2 stars on food (but hey, this isn't a dining establishment as far as I'm concerned). Bleachers has one of the best atmosphere on Game days. It truly is a great place to watch sports in the Greenwood area. The great bar food along with the great TVs to watch sports makes Bleachers a place you must experience on a game-day. Also where else can you still watch the game while in the restroom. Hey I came in here for the Buck Hunter because I'm trying to be hunter hero in every buck hunter pub in Seattle. I'm coming after you "God!" And I hadn't been in Greenwood for awhile, I used to come more often when I lived in Ballard, and was a regular when I lived on Phinney ridge, but they have 16 flat screen HD t.v.'s now, and a 12 foot projector, 1 shuffle board table (AWESOME!), 2 pool tables, got sucked in to golden tee for awhile, and there's 4 dart boards, patio seating, and I was talking to Bree the bartender and they have the NFL Ticket, NHL center ice, MLB Extra Innings, and play all the NBA games, and they have a sweet juke box, and on NFL Sundays they're open from 9 a.m. on for breakfast and Seahawks!!!. The new additions are sweet! I'm a fan. read more

My husband and I love Bleachers for what it is: An unpretentious neighborhood sports bar with strong drinks and good food. They have one giant screen in addition to at least ten other monitors so you can likely catch whichever game you're interested in. (If there's a Sounders, Seahawks, or Mariners game, that will likely take precedence on the big screen.) Drinks are priced reasonably and most bartenders there have a delightfully heavy hand. In terms of food, our standard order is the Bleacher Burger (double cheese burger with bacon) and Chili Cheese Fries. You can get your burger on garlic bread buns (highly recommended!) and it has become one of my favorite burgers in Seattle. The Chili Cheese Fries are topped with meaty chili, bacon, scallions, and nacho cheese. If you like your chili cheese fries without fresh-grated cheese (and I do!), these are the best. We often get their buffalo wings too which are meaty and delicious. Just a warning, medium spicy is pretty spicy and my mouth burns when I forget to order mild and order medium instead. They have one main cook whose name I don't know, but the food is excellent when he makes it (and good, just not nearly as good when it's a different cook). Look for the tall, thin (bald?) guy... If you're just looking for a snack, they have free popcorn available. Two tips: Skip the nachos and clarify salad ingredients (may contain cheese or onions without being explicitly stated on the menu). If you're looking for a big crowd (and long wait for food), go on a Seahawks game day. If you're going during the week, Tuesday's are great for the free bingo! See you there! read more

Went here to watch a Huskies game last year. It was a decent space for watching a game (though now that they've moved, it's not even great for that). Unfortunately, the menu was boring, the food was bad and the service was abysmal. It's too bad that the places I like in Greenwood keep getting sold and the crap bars stay forever. read more

Its worth heading over to Greenwood if you don't live in the area simply because the drinks are not expensive, there are TONS of televisions to see the game and the food is great to snack on. This place is fraking awesome. I'm pretty sure I've already yelped them but I'm doing it again jic. I go there at least every tuesday. caught all the nba playoff games there this year with mariners games on as well. .lcd flatscreens everywhere including an entire wall plastered with them and a colossal hd projector screen. relatively well priced drinks and food. GREAT bar tenders. and it has an outside patio which you an drink and smoke. full of friendly people you can hang out with. tuesday is free bingo which sounds gay but its pretty fun. wednesday is sex trivia night with Don. he's cool as ice. doesnt matter if youre new in town. if you like sports. you will like bleachers. only gripe, happy hour times are not very long and dont really have much bang for the buck compared to non-happy hour times. read more

Went for the Hawks-Skins wild card game. Place was packed. I have some lame friends so was rolling single and wanted a place to watch the game with a crowd. Bleachers hit the mark. Had driven and walked by hundreds of times and always assumed it was the type of place you brought a knife to fend off the biker gang that got lost from Auoroa. Totally wrong. Despite the outside appearance, the inside is basic sports bar and was as clean as anyone should expect. Beer selection was fine with a handful of choices beyond Bud and PBR. The kitchen is a wall in the back but the guy tending the grill seemed to be turning out ok looking food, though that isn't the reason anyone comes here I assume. Will definitely be back. read more

Stopped by this bar the other night to have a drink. My nearly 30 year old brother was driving and wasn't getting a beer. The owner (middle aged pudgy woman at the bar?) comes and cards my brother. He shows her his ID and says he's not drinking, and she starts to dig in with some attitude about "Is there a problem?" He says no, but he didn't exactly appreciate the way she asked to card him. She then promptly starts yelling "THAT'S IT, YOUR OUT! GET OUT!" and makes us all leave with 2 full beers we just paid for on the bar. We were there for 5 minutes and I've never been treated so rudly for absolutely nothing. PASS ON THIS PLACE. read more

I wanted to write this review in response to Dan M.'s review on 5/13. I was in Bleachers on the night in question and happened to be two tables over from these guys. What ACTUALLY happened was the bartender was DOING HER JOB by carding anyone who looks under 30-40 years old. This is a standard restaurant/bar policy. If the liquor board happens to be in your establishment and finds you serving ANYONE under age (no matter how old they look), that person will almost definately lose their job and probably be fined anywhere between a couple hundred to a couple THOUSAND dollars. So is it really THAT big of a deal if it takes you two seconds to pull your ID out of your wallet?? Next time, take it as a freaking compliment if your ID'ed if you're 30 or 40 years old. And to Dan M.'s brother, grow up and stop acting like you are 3, not 30. And I am giving this place a 5 star, not because it is a classy joint or anything, but because the bartender did a fabulous job of kicking these losers out, cuz I didn't want to spend my night drinking by such Aholes. read more

THROWING someones check at them (literally to the point that the receipt came out of the the check folder) is not acceptable and that's the service I received tonight after being there for 30 min!!! I went in to the pub to grab a burger and my friend had two drinks. The waitress, I believe her name was Kim, was SOOO incredibly rude! From the time I asked for a knife to cut my burger she rolled her eyes at me . But that was just the beginning, my friend decided after ordering a drink he didn't want it so she argued with him about it, when he walked away to take a phone call she came back to our table and literally THREW the check at me , she did not set it on the table she threw it at me! I have NEVER EVER been this disrespected at a restaurant in my life. She even apologized to my friend when he confronted her, and said well you pissed me off about your drink so that's why I threw it at her!!! This was right after I watched her pour two shots and gave one to her customer and took one for herself right on the floor not even behind the bar!!! To top it off, because I believe in treating people how you want to be treated, I made sure to to tip her, so I walked it over to her and said excuse me this is your tip I want to let you know you ruined my night and she said I DONT WANT YOUR MONEY!!! read more

Let me start by admitting that I am not a huge sports fan and not a big drinker. That is why I am not someone who would have probably ever gone to Bleacher's if I hadn't been going for a meeting for a community event. (They are huge supporters of the PNA and Car Show.) But I am so glad I did. I knew I had stumbled on something special when I was asked whether I wanted my blue cheese burger on a regular bun or garlic bread. I went with garlic bread because it was garlic bread and has been asking myself ever since why this is a question I have never been asked about a burger before. It was fabulous. They have a ton of nice big screen TVs too and the owner has a great sports package and is really willing to work to get requests which means that if you are into a sport that is less popular locally like hockey, it is a place you can actually see some. So now when my sport and beer loving friends want to make a get together a sports bar I have one I actually like. read more
