One star, and it's all down to a single bartender. I came in with two friends to catch the NBA Finals and we grabbed a spot away from everyone, just talking among ourselves. Out of nowhere a bartender inserted himself into our private conversation. I asked him to stay out of it, and instead of backing off he got rude. By the time we settled up he had completely lost it and screamed 'f***ing a**hole' at me in front of the whole bar. There's no excuse for a staff member blowing up at paying customers over a conversation he was never part of. If you're behind the bar and nobody's being harmed, pour the drinks and let people be. Management will know who I mean: thin guy, long white beard, flat-brim cap. Skip this place. read more

We miss this place! Used to love coming here. We live right around the corner on 35th so it was our favorite bar until this woman started working. We asked her what her name was to make this complaint and she said her name was Kayla, Heyla, something like that. She was rude to my wife when we came in after a Sounders game and made a comment about my wife's purse and said oh i like your purse her, was there a sale at Value Village?? In front of other people and laughed!Our daughter bought that Coach bag for my wife for Mother's Day. Who says stuff like that? DO NOT GO TO THIS BAR UNTIL SHE IS GONE. We had over 12 folks show up after a wake and we were not only welcomed but treated with such respect and authentic reverence for the situation while also making sure we all had fun. This place is my jam, refuge, local hang, and all that really good stuff in between. I've been delaying writing this review because I love the fact stumbling upon Double J Saloon and feeling like I've discovered a super cool secret. The music slash playlist is always on point. The bartenders are also super friendly. They always try to make a point in learning my name and trying to remember it. They also provide some pretty sweet board games. You can easily play chess, while simultaneously playing Jenga and scrabble- whoa. Don't judge a book by its cover because the interior is super clean, bathrooms are really nice, and the drinks - my personal fav the cucumber cooler never disappoints! read more

Great new addition to LCW! Only been opens ~2 weeks but I'm excited it's here. It's the perfect hangout spot that is comfortable. Great people, big TV's, pool, beers on tap, liquor, music & flatbread pizza (didn't try but smelled good). Parking in the back too. Excited to go back! read more

Scratch cocktail for $7. Not too boozy (The Back Door is good for that) and delicious. Food bites (did not have any, but it looked great). Free peanuts. Salty and good. What I have liked the most is that it was not busy when I was there, but both bartenders worked the entire time. Jeremy was friendly, drinks were perfectly balanced, and he never missed a beat when my glass was getting emptier. I really appreciated his attention to detail when he opened a new bag of peanuts. He made sure that the ones that were on the bottom ended up on top. It seems funny to point that out, but it is telling on how the bar is handled in general. Great atmosphere and some of the friendliest staff I've ever met. Good for sports, several TV's behind the bar. Food is surprisingly good. Only problem is that the shots are measured. Not worth paying for premium liquor when the owners won't let the barkeeps free-pour. read more

The Double J Saloon, has a friendly, no judgement style staff that welcomes everyone with the same attitude. They make strong drinks for a reasonable price, and always have good deals for happy hour. It may not look like a place you would go for a bite, but their menu is surprisingly good! We have had the homemade cheese dip, and two different flatbreads. Both have been delicious. read more

A perfect neighborhood bar filled with board games, classic 80's and 90's music, and a pool table. I couldn't ask for more! Drinks were reasonably priced. I had a manhattan and it was one of the better ones I've had in awhile. People would sing along to the songs, but the music wasn't too loud. you could still carry a descent conversation. The pictures uploaded on Yelp, don't give this place justice. I'll take pictures next time I go. It's a "dive" bar but not as seedy as the backdoor which isn't quite my scene. Exactly what Lake City needed! The Double J really fills a need in this neighborhood, it's a full service bar that you wouldn't be embarrassed to take out-of-town folks too. They have a full bar and a decent cocktail menu as well as your standard beer choices. I haven't tried their food yet but it smelled really good. Place was permeated with a burnt cheese smell which I still haven't forgotten. We asked about food and one of the bartenders gestured wordlessly toward the board at the front; menu unclear.
