Dive bar in the true sense of the word. I liked the vintage look from the outside which is what drew me inside. It is a neighborhood watering hole for regulars. Visitors are welcome, but don't sit in a regular's seat. Straight up bar drinks and drafts. Our bartender was very nice, and she was being very vigilant with the sanitizing to meet COVID standards. I like the place, and I would hang out with the sole purpose of the main reason for the place, to drink.

This bar totally serves the North End on the weekend. Friday night was so busy with karaoke that there was no room to sit! I Like no room. I loved the atmosphere, and want to spend my $$. But during the rest of the week the bartenders want to close early and serve everyone else. Good luck!!

The stretch of 15th Ave NE north of Northlake Mall has a pretty nice string of neighborhood bars, from Boud's Pinehurst to the Caroline to North City Tavern. North City Tavern/Lounge has been around since at least 1945, perhaps since Prohibition, and occupies the oldest commercial property in the area (started 1929). Inside it has all the basics of a neighborhood dive -- woody interiors, yellowing old beer promotion lights, and yellowing old regular patrons.

Expensive shitty beers. Mostly lame customer service. Patrons smoking in the bar. Waste of time and money.

Cheap drinks, friendly bartenders, no frills. Don't come here expecting something nice / fancy and you'll be all set.

A bustling neighborhood bar! I am so glad this bar is in my neighborhood. Great drinks, delicious…read morefood and prices are generally lower than comparable places in Shoreline. The staff is friendly and attentive. They have a dedicated bar area for pull tabs. The vibe is casual and fun, and many TVs going during televised sports. We love Wednesday night trivia and Thursday karaoke. Go a few times and the bartenders will more than likely remember your name, and your favorite beverage.

Shared parking lot with other businesses can get pretty tight, especially on major sporting event days. Seating indoors around the bar and tables throughout were also mostly full. There's also outdoor seating which works for larger groups and/or smokers. I appreciated the cleanliness of the bar & grill. Spot on vibe as a sports bar hangout and not overly dim and divey. There's pool tables, arcade machines, and flatscreens. Overhead music was loud, but decent. Bartenders were kept busy with customers watching hockey, baseball retrospective on Ken Griffey, Jr, or game 4 of the World Series during this visit. The Homie had a Mac & Jack's with his meatball sub, tots with spicy ranch. It was deemed tasty and disappeared. I opted for a club sandwich also with tots, but with ketchup. Paired well with an Arnold Palmer. Pretty mammoth and ended up bringing half my sandwich home. One guy nearby devoured an order of chicken wings. Plump drumettes. Special on Taco Tuesday too. Not noticing much food around us, but definitely a lot of beverage inbibing.

As far as food goes, I had the Jersey's Crunchy Big Blue with prawns which was the perfect size and the flavor combinations were amazing. Two BBQ Spice Rubbed Salmon salads and a pastrami with fries were also ordered and everyone really enjoyed our meals. Definitely looking forward to our next visit!

But still parking lot is better than no parking lot. I definitely prefer the old location better than this one. It had a bit better ambience and was in a better location. The food itself was decent however it was quite pricey for just being "bar food". And they're happy our menu is not that great either. I kind of wonder if people come here more for the drinks than the food? But their prices were more comparable to a nicer restaurant, which is really not the case here since it's really a bar and it's just off of Aurora. Definitely consider it a sports bar. All of the TVs were set to sports shows but the volume wasn't too bad. So we could still have conversation.
