Awesome place I got the best deal on the cards I wanted! I highly recommend it for card enthusiasts.

Lame place, picky on what products they sell on certain days. Recommend going somewhere else. Not worth the drive

I stumbled upon this store by accident...and it was an INCREDIBLY cool experience…read more The store is packed to the brim with interesting, eye-catching items, particularly in the realms of hobby crafts, miniatures, and vintage memorabilia. (I bought 3 vintage LIFE magazines from the 1930s-1950s and the store had a great "Buy 2 get 1 free deal!" I also vintage Saturday Evening Posts, Rolling Stones, and Ebony magazines.) I specifically went inside because my partner and I have been wanting to buy an easy DIY airplane kit for my 90 year old Korean War veteran / former pilot grandpa. Hobby stores are rare and far between these days, so I was elated to find a hobby store (finally!). The store has been owned for the last 20 years by a lovely, charming couple, both of whom were at the store working. They were fans of my dog and were super kind. The store clerk who worked there was also AWESOME. He must have been no older than 20 years old, but when I walked in and told him I needed an easy airplane building kit for a Korean War vet, he immediately started listing off all these planes (jets?) that existed in that time. I wanted to be like, "Hey! I'm older than you and I have no idea what any of this means! How do you know so much?!" I was very impressed. He helped me pick out an easy-to-make kit for my grandpa and he was also a huge help when I couldn't decide which of their many vintage magazines to buy. There are A LOT and they all look so cool. I love history. Unfortunately, we weren't able to find any LIFE magazines about President Carter or 1970s folk music (my aunt's two interests), but I love that store clerk for searching through the stacks of magazines and trying to help me find one of that nature for her. I ended up buying LIFE magazines about the Dodgers in 1938, WWII soldiers returning home from 1944, and one on Elizabeth Taylor, circa 1950. I think my grandparents are going to have a kick reading these old rags. I hope they bring back lots of good memories. I wish this store good fortune and another few decades in this locale. It is a gem.

I have spent hundreds of dollars on product here, on sealled MTG product, deck accessories and DnD books when they first opened. I have gone to multiple pre-releases since then and I do enjoy going to commander here. But with their rising cost for pre-releases and the insane low balling they have given me when asking for trade ins I have been going to other stores more now especially since their move into Northridge. This is a great place to play, especially when your bringing your own deck but any limited format is a higher price than average. We shouldn't let these stores normalize these prices. I can only speak on MTG pricing and trades I have no idea if this is the same for Pokemon and Lorcana etc. I do build Gunpla and their Gunpla pricing is pretty fair but I feel like the Gunpla is really just an afterthought at this store and the sets they have on display are not anything to write home about. I don't remember seeing them selling a bunch of tools to help builders step up their building either. I would much rather buy from a Hobby Shop that's actually dedicated to the craft.

I dropped in to buy a present for my little friend Odin S.'s seventh birthday and immediately got what I needed. I am a 38-year-old mom with one salient common interest with many young children: I've played Pokémon GO since 2016, when most of the kids I know were not yet alive. I am a daily player, and even own a Pokémon GO Plus +, an autocatcher in the shape of a Poké Ball. My own children have shown great interest in this device, which I keep telling them is definitely not a toy. The adults in my life are unimpressed by my Pokémon prowess, but I've gotten pretty good mileage showing my CP4234 Mewtwo and various shinies to Odin. He has, in turn, told me all about the card game and general Pokémon lore. I got him a bunch of Pokémon cards for his sixth birthday, and the gift was enough of a hit that I decided to buy him more. I found Turn Zero on Yelp and called ahead to make sure they had Pokémon cards in stock. They did, and the guy on the phone gave me a full rundown of what they had available. While they weren't selling individual packs, they did have sets that sounded like they'd make great presents. The shop is in that huge Koreatown strip mall with the My Gym and El Pollo Loco, where I've found that parking is usually easy. I didn't explore much, but it looked like it was about the size of a corner store, and it was well stocked with game-related inventory. Lots of games, of course, plus accessories, books, figurines, etc. The guy I talked to on the phone was there behind the counter. He was nice and helpful and hooked me up with a handsome box of Pokémon cards. Odin was really happy with his gift. Given my own tendencies (I enjoyed plenty of manga in my youth, and while I never played Magic the Gathering, I got really into Hearthstone for a while), I think it's somewhat likely that my sons will be little gamers. I have a feeling I'll be back to Turn Zero Games.

They have a really big selection for Magic, but not much outside of that, which is what I was hoping for. I guess I was just in the wrong type of store. Everyone that was in the store, including the employee, didn't say anything, but gave us weird looks for being there. I'm not really sure why. There shouldn't be anything wrong with outsiders just checking the store out.
