Blaze is one of the best hotel restaurants we've ever been to as we travel often. Chef Mike is fantastic and his food is delicious! Agatha, our server & bartender is very personable and great with recommendations. My salmon dish was so good, I didn't leave a morsel behind. The salmon had a nice crust and the glaze is chef's kiss! My husband's chicken sandwich was cooked perfectly. It was juicy and had a wonderful sauce on it. The French fries were sooooooo crispy and good. We were greeted by a nice gentleman and sat immediately. Our server came over after a wee bit of waiting. Chef Mike and the gentleman that sat us brought our meals out. Everyone was very accommodating. We enjoyed our dinners and will be back tomorrow. The only complaint would be how loud the music initially was but it was turned down minutes after sitting. Don't come here if you want service. Servers are inattentive and if the food is good you will have to wait to get it. Waiting on a drink refill also takes forever. Just downright bad service, the food can't make up for it. Food came did not make up for it. If you are a hotel guest don't believe the good reviews go somewhere else. read more

I travel every week. It used to be fun for me to find a new place to eat every night but now I just want to find a good place and not have to worry about it the rest of the week. I ate here three times this week and each time it was great! First night I had the brisket, it was a good portion and quite good. They were out of the corn side dish but the asparagus and cornbread muffin were not bad. The second night I had the ribeye steak, it was very good with mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts with a balsamic glaze also very good. The steak was supposed to be medium rare and it was perfectly cooked to medium rare. The steak was very good and tender. The third night I had appetizers, chicken tacos that were excellent and the loaded fries with brisket, also very good. Hats off to chefs Maurice and Carlos. Great job with the food guys! I stay at the hotel on a weekly basis and the food and Service has gone to the dogs over the last four months. New cook and the food is very inconsistent and takes forever to get and then when you do get it it's only lukewarm. They also changed their menu drastically so there are not very many choices. Was also there a few weeks ago and it was the last time I went in because there was a bar patron that was super obnoxiously drunk, and they would not throw him out because they knew him and then when they finally talked him into leaving, it was because he was giving them a $250 tip on a $250 bill (just 2 of them drinking). Stopped in on a Saturday night to try it out. I wish I would have tried it out sooner. Agatha was our server and she was very helpful. She gave us some suggestions and was completely on point! We stared with buffalo wings which are smoked and delicious. Then we split the garlic shrimp appetizer and the steak and frites. Damn, we were happy! The shrimp is a must have, tender and loaded with garlic, plus they give you crostini to soak up the broth!! Yum!! We thought of finishing it up like a soup, but got extra crostini instead. We really enjoyed the steak and frites. Perfectly cooked medium rare and so tender. The fries have a crunchy texture. You must try the Brussels sprouts, they were crispy with a balsamic glaze. I thought it was an off premise restaurant but it's a hotel bar. It gets worse, because it's a cutout part of hotel tucked away in a corner with no dedicated entry way to indicate it's a full fledged restaurant bar. Went there at night and the photo of bright blaze sign on yelp is no where to be found. I used the double door to enter and didn't even realize I was looking at the restaurant. To the right was the hotel lobby and in front I see a small corner area with tables and chairs that look like a rest area. Upon going further down I see a hotel bar and thinking that the restaurant was else where. Nope I was wrong. Waited at the podium, but no matre de to be found. With 2 bartenders at the bar and another employee in the back not a single person greeted us or ask us if we need to be seated. After waiting for 5 mins we gave up and left. read more

Okay, so we have been here twice now. first time was on a Sunday. I had a Burger (Blaze burger) my friend had the Chicken sandwich. (Grilled herb) the Burger was Good. my Friend said her Sandwich not so much. Service was Great. their house wine (a name brand) was reasonably priced. ambience is nice. place is way better than what was there before! So, we went again a couple weeks ago on Thursday I believe. a couple of things. they were out of their House wine. there was a new guy (I guess the manager) who offered to make good on another bottle at the house wine price. which was good. although the bottle was so warm (they do not have a wine cellar) he was very accommodating though. got us a wine cooler. he also offered us a choice of wines before we settled on the one, we did. I believe he even offered us a taste of one of the wines. I ordered the "Rigatoni Bolognese." which was very Good. Fresh Hot and Flavorful. though it comes with more of a pink sauce than a red sauce. which is what I prefer. was a good dish though. would order it again. My friend ordered the "NY Strip Steak" Hesitantly, because you really take a chance ordering Steaks at Restaurants today. They are either poor cuts, over or under cooked, or low Quality. when her Steak arrived, and she started eating it. she said...."This is the Best Steak I have had in a Long Time!" She is a Steak Eater. so thats saying something!! The only Downside was they had Entertainment that night. which I knew about. I figured nice easy jazz music. no, not at all. some woman playing by herself. I mean she wasn't bad. good for the Bar people. not so good for people trying to have a nice Dinner. the problem is exasperated by the Acoustics. The place is not "Acoustic Friendly." I gave the establishment Four Stars instead of Five. simply because we have only been there two times. a few more visits will determine whether they get another star or possibly lose one. I was back in town for work after close to a year, when I sat down the bartender (Agatha) said "welcome back Buffalo Trace on the rocks is it?" she remembered me and I for sure remembered her. We were excited to eat here given the reviews we saw. However we sat down at 6:15 and were not served food until after 7:30. We did have our drinks served expeditiously however it went down hill from there. Several fruit flies as well as houseflies were attracted to the fruit in my sangria. Then when the food finally arrived my husband's lettuce was wilted brown in places and tomato smelled funny. His burger did not come with the bacon or aioli in the description, nor did my father in law's. The burgers were also overcooked so my husband sent his back and went to Wendy's. The brisket they are known for was okay and had a nice Smokey flavor. However, it had no barbecue sauce on it as advertised and was too dry to enjoy eating. It also had cooked onions rather than fried, and corn kernels rather than a sweet corn salad. The French fries were amazing though and we ate quite a few of those. We spoke with the wonderful waitress and it seems like it was a series of unfortunate events as many ingredients were out of stock in the kitchen and the chef on duty was new. They have Latin night on Saturday too, starting at 9 pm. It seemed like it could be a good time for those interested. However, the lighting and music were being tested at 7:40ish and made it hard to focus and hear my family. Based on this experience, 1 star was the best I can do. However, I would give it another shot hoping that this was a one off tragedy of a meal. read more

We arrived at 7:45. There was one poor guy acting as bartender, waiter and possibly cook? He was nice and didn't seem overworked, given there were only a few people there. We ordered about 15 minutes later. The issue was that our food didn't come out for over an hour. The wings were hammered (overcooked). My salad was meh. My wife said her Brussel sprouts were way over cooked and overdressed. Basically, with no one in there eating and it still took and hour to get our food, there's a tiny margin for error.
