I've been living in Plainsboro for 4 years and just went to Caddyshack for the first time last week. We went for happy hour, the atmosphere was chill and definitely a local spot. We had cheese fries, wings, and onions rings(not pictured) and they were great. The wings were good. The happy hour menu is a good way to try their service and wings. Only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because I haven't tried anything else but definitely will be back. read more

A divish hole in the wall that serves remarkably sturdy sports bar cuisine. The somewhat downtrodden atmospherics are a welcome relief from the sterility of Plainsboro and while the Caddyshack name is way over the top, it instantly brands the joint with a shambolic aura that's easy to enjoy. I much prefer the brutal honesty of this saloon to the highly choreographed, soulless fun factories like Buffalo Wild Wings or, dare I say it, Applebee's. The wings are superb and the beer is plentiful and cold. Mission accomplished. If only they had named the damn thing Animal House. read more

Found this local gem thru Yelp. Traditional golf course bar/restaurant, several locals enjoying the evening. A couple pool tables, an outdoor patio. Very casual. The service was attentive (when it's busy she said you order at the bar vs wait staff service). The burgers were tasty, large and flavorful. The chicken sandwich was crispy and juicy. Came here tonight and enjoyed myself! First, parking was easy, as there were plenty of spots available just outside of the bar. After walking in, I was immediately struck by how large the space was - tables weren't close together and it didn't feel super crowded, so that was great. The bar was pretty busy but the tables were pretty empty, so we picked our favorite and sat down. The bartender came by shortly after we arrived and gave us a couple of menus. I felt pretty bad for her because apparently she was staffed with running both the bar and the dining room. This meant that the service was kind of slow and a little disorganized, but it's hard to blame her for that (I blame the business!). I ordered the medium buffalo wings for myself, while my wife got the veggie burger. The wings took a while to arrive, which was kind of surprising since I didn't see a lot of other people in the bar eating anything. Overall, I think the wings were pretty darn good, although the sauce had an off flavor somehow. It was a little too vinegar-y for me, I think? I was also a little disappointed by the number of wings: 7. It wasn't listed anywhere on the menu but I assumed I'd get more for $8.50. My wife liked her veggie burger just fine. Overall, I actually liked the space and felt comfortable in there, but I'd love for the food to come out quicker and for them to hire another person for busy times like Friday evening :) read more

We had a hankering for wings today and instead of heading to one of the big chains, we decided to do a quick Yelp search and find a more local place. I'm so glad we gave Caddyshack a try! The bar's vibe is very chill since it's tucked away in a golf course, and it seems like a great place to watch a game ... or play a game with friends. Caitlin (sp?) the bartender/server was so genuinely nice and attentive. I ordered a buffalo chicken salad which was ginormous and at only $10, a great deal. We also ordered garlic fries to share that were covered in a garlic oil and minced garlic - totally delicious. My husband ordered the garlic buffalo wings, and at Caitlin's suggestion, the lemon pepper rub wings. Both flavors were amazing, and all the wings were large and juicy, but the lemon pepper stole the show. All in all, this is a great chill place to grab a bite and relax. We will be back! read more

I've been looking for good wings forever in this area. I got tired of Buffalo Wild Wings quick and every other place that offers wings I'm not a fan of. This place is through a neighborhood and near a golf course I believe. You may wonder where you are but don't worry keep going you'll find the spot! I was surprised to see their hours as they close at 10 PM. Interesting for a spot that advertises themselves as a sports bar. I called to confirm and yup 10 PM AND the kitchen closes at 9 PM. That's some major KEY info right there especially for me because when I called it was 8:45 so I was too late. The next time I wanted to go I had a meeting till 8:30. We left around 8:35 with an ETA of 8:55. Realized this was cutting it super close so we ordered on the phone and ended up sitting there to eat which they were cool with. Food: Wings - got the bucket of 20+ wings with Buffalo and Garlic Parm. You know it's fresh when you see nice diced chunks of garlic all over the wings. Mhm. Best garlic parm wings I've had probably and I'm not a huge fan of the flavor either. Buffalo was classic and tasted great. These wings are juicy and crunchy. How a wing should be! And they have a decent amount of flavors to chose from. No Asian inspired though which are my favorite (they do have Teriyaki though but I'm not a fan of that). Jalapeño Poppers - what you'd expect but good! I don't know what sauce they had on the side but it was tasty with the poppers too! Drinks - they have a solid beer selection. 6 beers on tap and a ton of choices from bottles. They had Dogfish Namaste which is one of my favorite beers too. Atmosphere/Service: The spot isn't fancy at all. It kind of reminds me of a food hall at a water park or mountain. I have no complaints cause I came here for tasty wings, not the dec It's probably not crowded too much but it seemed like they only had one bartender who was also acting as the server. She was doing her best at keeping it moving but if you're impatient then you may get frustrated haha. She was super nice though and got us anything we requested. They do have a decent amount of TVs so it's not a bad spot to watch some games but since it closes at 10 PM, watching basketball doesn't really work there. It's a good place for drinks but the snacks and food are mid, try it with company it will be a much better experience.

There is some bias in this review since I live in the apartments nearby and a 5 minute walk to the shack. Food is very good for a sports bar. The Atmosphere is good...homey feel. The crowd is a mix of locals, passing golfers, and private parties at times. Bartenders are sweet and professional. Lastly, I believe there are 5 big screens inside and 2 outside in the covered area which is warmed with 2 large space heaters. read more

The on going search for decent wings continued at the Caddyshack. Three of us took the ride out to Plainsboro to see if these wings were as good as people said. We were pleasantly surprised. The place is right on the golf course and was practically empty on a Wednesday afternoon. They have different sauces, such as bbq and teriyaki. We went with buffalo. No insane sauces or super hot varieties here so if that's your thing, don't waste your time. However, if you want a decent, meaty wing with a bit of a crunch covered in a nice buffalo sauce, this place has it. Price wise was good too. 21 wings for 20 bucks. We polished off 2 plates. We also added some cheese fries and pretzel pieces and washed it down with cold beer. It was all good. The beer was cold, the food was hot, the place is immaculate, and the service was on point. It was worth the ride, though not a true wing joint. But what they do they do really, really well and worth droppong in if you're in the area. read more

The name Caddy Shack is due to the fact it is in the worst looking public golf shack you'll ever find, with no effort at renovations and no attempt at comfort. This place is a hidden little gem. Located right off the golf course, this sports bar boasts an outdoor patio (smoker friendly) where you can enjoy a meal with a quaint view. In the winter, it has a fire place and several big screen TVs: perfect for watching the game and unwinding after work; maybe even during a working lunch. Speaking of the meal: it was delicious. The buffalo wings were THE B-E-(A)-S-T I've ever had, no joking. I am as much of a "wing snob" as one could be, and seriously, they are crispy and juicy and seasoned just right. No soggy gristle. No chewy undercooked meat. No dry brittle overcooked wings. PERFECT. Bravissimo. I also had the southwest burger, salsa on the side. The burger itself was juicy, not burnt, and not over cooked. We tried Caddyshack for the first time today to watch the Vikings game. Service is slow. Wings are ok Pizza ok but uses canned mushrooms and didn't taste like real cheese. I arrived and there were 3 people behind the bar, but only one was helping customers. I sat at a table and then had to walk to the bar to get a menu and a drink. When I ordered the drink I was told someone would be at my table shortly. 15 minutes later, I finished my beer, paid, and then went to another sports bar to watch football. I will finish by saying that there were less then 15 people there when I arrived and about 20 when I left. No reason for such poor service. I would have given no stars if I could have. read more

This is the only bar and Plainsboro, but what it lacks in style and flash, it makes up for in charm and comfort. The food is amazing and A+, except for the pizza, but how can you fault them for that, when I think it's still made there and not a frozen deal. The wings however are probably the best on the menu, hidden gem here in terms of buffalo wings. The bartenders are friendly and nice, and you can see are real friends with a lot of the regulars. My friend comes here often and I and our other friends join him quite frequently as well, and some of the bartenders already know all our names. Tuesday night trivia too! The striking thing about this sports bar is the ambience. Pretty relaxed and huge. Perfect place for after game reviews or watching any game. The seats are comfy but I noticed that there are not many options for non drinkers, seriously you can definitely add more options raspberry soda is not going to be the one. The food was delicious and the service was fast and friendly even though there where still a lot of people there as it was around 6:30 on a Friday. The happy hour is a good deal as well. Half off on beers and cocktails. I had the spiced daiquiri drink and I would definitely go again. This is located on a golf course so it's quiet and has a nice, quiet feel to it which is different from your standard dive bar. The patrons here are also nice as well. read more
