Wow what an excellent dinner!! Not one complaint for tonight's dining experience. Our server, William, as always was phenomenal. Our water glasses filled every time they got low by other staff members. We were seated promptly. The temperature was perfect. Most of all the food was outstandingly delicious!! Three of us got the restaurant week menu Caesar salad, sea bass, and either the bread pudding or mini brownie sundae both of which were great. The sea bass was soooo good with the sweet Thai chili sauce and the vegetable toppings. We cleared our plates. The fourth person in our party got the strip steak cooked rare and he said it was cooked to perfection and so tender and delicious. All in all the most wonderful experience and we will be back again!

This past weekend, 12/13/25 we decided to have a date night down in Princeton! We have been to Witherspoon Grill once before for Dinner & absolutely loved it! We had actually had dinner before coming so we went for a night cap! My husband & I each got 4 cocktails. We absolutely loved our seasonal beverages! The restaurant is very warm & cozy inside. The bar staff was super helpful & friendly! We would definitely go back!

It was a beautiful day in Princeton, New Jersey. We walked around the Princeton & my niece made reservations for lunch at Witherspoons just a few steps from the hallowed halls of Princeton University. We sat outside & were enjoying a rare warm October day in the Northeast. I had the salmon, tasty & healthy. The Lobster roll was yummy & filling. The cocktails were amazing. Service was great & we did not have to wait long to be served. The vibe was lively & a lot of folks brought their pets. I highly recommend this restaurant. A great day, with great food & making memories with family. Just perfect.

The food was delicious and the ambiance is amazing! Typical Princeton vibe and locals. My meal was bigger than I expected! The mojito was to die for. Service was attentive and professional!! I highly recommend!!!

From the perfectly prepared steak to the flavorful short rib and crisp broccolini, the kitchen truly impressed us tonight. The short rib, in particular, was exceptional. Complemented by excellent service, it was a fantastic evening. Highly recommended!

A Princeton staple. Consistently great! The fried calamari was perfectly cooked with a delicious balsamic drizzle. Tried the warm goat cheese salad special, it was perfect.

There used to be delicious bread here.

Amazing food, appetizers, specials and entrees. The bread is another standout. The desserts are fantastic as well.

Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Make reservations for busy peak dinning times. Noise level indoors is manageable, so this would be a good spot for a date or a family gathering, when you want to hear what your companions are saying. Drinks are strong and well composed. Food was served quickly. Efficient and friendly staff. Get the 4 oysters sampler, you won't regret it. Four very different oysters will titillate your palette and make you wonder how such seemingly simple, unassuming creatures can boast such uniquely different flavors. Steak and frites is not a big portion, but it will satisfy you. Fries are on the soft side, so ask them to be done extra crispy to get the most flavor out of them. Short ribs were underwhelming in flavor and tough in texture. The sauce was completely bland, which was surprising, because how can you mess a red wine reduction? Had to use a lot of table black pepper to try add taste to a dish that I was so excited to try, but which fell flat. Burgers and steaks at neighboring tables looked and smelled divine, so go for those options.

Went for a corporate dinner with work colleagues. Though a cute cosy establishment the food was very unassuming. We ordered a bunch of appetizers like shrimp cocktail and creamed spinach and drinks for the table. I ordered a sweet ice wine which was ok. My Griggstown chicken felt a bit overcooked and crispy than I had expected. Overall service was good and pretty fast but food wasn't something to die for in my opinion

Thats a fig on my fork... I picked it from the salad on the other side of the table and it was really good! My burger was bomb.

Great food and service. This restaurant is loud when it's filled up so if that's a problem for you I would go off peak hours.

I ordered the Grilled Chicken Wrap, which was excellent, packed with chicken and very filling. I ended up taking half home because it was both generous and delicious. The side salad was also surprisingly good. We ended up returning later for happy hour, which takes place in the room to the right of the hostess stand. I highly recommend stopping by for drinks and bites if you're in the mood for classic cocktails and solid food. Happy hour is first come, first served and limited to the bar only (around 15 seats total). We arrived right when it started, and when we left about 40 minutes later, the bar was about half full. I'd definitely come back to try their dinner or to enjoy their happy hour again.

We also ordered a California Roll- kani, cucumber, avocado, nori, sushi rice, sesame seeds. You can add pickled mango + $1 or avocado for + $1. We added the mango for a twist. It was very good. Next time I come I want to try their Buttermilk Fried Chicken Bao Buns-sriracha slaw, house made pickled cucumber, micro cilantro, asian glaze. It looked so good. There was a couple sharing our high top and they ordered several orders of these and they told us it's a must try. I would've ordered more food, but we were going to another place and I didn't want to fill up. The staff is very nice here all very friendly and welcoming. There's no children's menu. This place is a bit small so I don't recommend it for young children and it would be difficult for handicapped unless you're able to get a table outside. We will definitely be back.

They were all a slight notch above average, but also nothing memorable that jumped out at me to set the food apart from other similar Princeton eateries serving up pub fare. Service (4/5) was warm and friendly. Overall, this was a decent meal, but the unique ambiance is the star of the show here, as it's a place that I'd bring people visiting from out of town to get some college town vibes you'd be hard-pressed to find elsewhere in Princeton. This time, I was in town for the graduation weekend, and visited the taproom on Memorial Day. The location, concept, and atmosphere of this bar is really cool. It is located on the first floor of the historic Nassau Inn. There is an entire wall of framed pictures of Princeton's notable alumni, which is neat to look through as you are walking in. It is a bar, but there is table seating for smaller or larger groups in addition to the bar seating. All of the times I have visited this place have been in the evening after or during a large event for the university. Specifically this time, I was there the Monday evening before the graduation ceremony took place. There was only one bartender working this evening, and he was fulfilling orders for both the bar and the tables. I came to the bar a few times during the night, and it was backed up each time. I do not understand how there was only one person scheduled, as this was during a very busy weekend for the university. I do not have an expectation to be immediately waited on, but having to wait 20+ minutes each time you want a drink is slightly outrageous. Also, they did not honor who was there first and would simply serve whoever they felt like serving. This is not the first time I have had this bar experience here, either. I know things happen and it could have been a one-off, but being that I have experienced this on multiple visits, I suspect this is how it always is. The staff here is not very friendly, either. In a past visit, we were told we could not have a table unless we were ordering food, when the restaurant was not even full. I have never been wowed or impressed with any kind of service I have received here. I want to like this place for the character and charm, but the service is severely lacking. If you are going to stop, I would do so during the day to avoid long, unnecessary waiting.
