Update this used to be one of my favorite locations but over the years it has gone downhill. Every time I go in there I get such a bad attitude from the same girl (short, brown hair, blondish highlighted ponytail). She is so unbelievably rude that after my last encounter (9/22 at 7:30pm) I refuse to go back! Aside from the customer service, the tables and floors are always so dirty-When I say dirty I'm not just talking about crumbs, but tables are rarely wiped down and there in literally chunks of pizza (crust) and napkins always on the floor. The salad is never cool it's always warm and lettuce is wilted. I contacted corporate and they were not helpful at all-they just sent me a link to their site for generic complaints. First review of 2020! I could take away a star as the logistics of getting to this location are INSANE! There is no way to get into the parking lot, without trying to maneuver around the adjacent lot in order to basically turn around and make a right turn into this one. That venting out of the way, here goes: One of many similar chains, Blaze seems to do the best job in cooking the pizza. I can't explain how, but their crust comes out as the most authentic pie of the bunch. The toppings are on par with other chains, as is the option of customizing your pie. This last visit I went with the BBQ Chicken and was pleasantly surprised that their prep didnt use any sauce for the oven, but a sprinkle of sauce on top when it was done. This was new to me and I have to be honest, it tasted much better than having hot BBQ sauce drenching the crust. The result was a nice crispy crust with just enough toppings. Personal preference, but next time I will skip the gargonzola cheese, as it seemed to overwhelm the taste. 5 options of fountain drinks outside of soda: iced tea, 2 lemonades and some other fruit flavored drinks. Overall: Avoid the lunch rush and the crazy limited parking which did improve with Starbucks gone. Otherwise worth a visit, but be prepared to spend about $12 for pie and soda. read more

As a vegan, it's always difficult to find good pizza. There are several vegan pizza places in the city but too far away from my location. I stopped by Blaze Pizza in Niles and got an excellent, perfect vegan pizza. Have not been to Blaze for over two years. It used to be a favorite place of my families. It was open , not sure how long it has been open on the inside and my daughter really wanted to go. When we went up to order, we kind of forgot about the menu, etc and we were taking some time thinking about it. We also asked some questions. Guess we were too slow cause the guy taking our order was so rude!! A total asshole. The pizza is fine; this review today is because their curbside pick up was unacceptable. I ordered online so I would not have to go in during the pandemic - I arrived five minutes before my pick up time and tried calling. No answer. I tried calling the number on the window - rings for about a minute and then stops, disconnected. I tried calling the number from their app - selecting the menu option for arriving for curbside pick up, it immediately disconnects me. Several times. Calling the number from the order confirmation email, no one answers, there is no way to reach a person, and the only option that will work - the "pick up curbside order" option - once again, no answer - and it rings on and on for five minutes or more - so I eventually (25 minutes after arriving) had to go into the store, just exactly what I was trying to avoid with my curbside order. I have been to several of the Blaze Pizza locations in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. This one has the friendliest staff! Entire staff was all smiles and engaged. Only (minor) disappointment was the thicker dough we tried on our Meat Lovers pizza. Essentially it was just two of the regular pieces of dough (which are delicious) stacked atop each other. OK let me start off with i work around the corner from this place and they have had a lot of my business. Today as i walked in i saw a sign that states " we do not take bills larger than $20" I had a hundred dollar bill ( i was also intending on ordering a handful of pizzas for co-workers) I assumed the issue was they didnt have change being it was earlier than the lunch rush. Crust was very decent and I appreciated having multiple sauces to choose from. Last night the manager here was so rude and a tad bit aggressive toward women. I warned him not to approach me or put his hands in my face or on me. Because he will have a real problem. This all started over an online order I placed in the store. I asked if I could get the special but no pepperoni just cheese, he said they dont substitute but he will take the pepperoni off this time but I would have to wait because he has an order for 10 pizzas. I agreed to wait but meanwhile people are walking in off the street and ordering pizzas and they are not waiting. Now Im irritated, why am I waiting? My order was already placed and paid for. I asked what the hold up was? After they made the 10 plus at least 4-5 more that walked in after me. Then I asked for a side of peppers and said I would pay the up charge. He flat out refused so I canceled the pizza and ask for 2 regular price pizzas since he wont put the peppers on. He got an attitude and they barely put sauce on my pizza. After making those pizzas they expected me to pay again and my order has to be canceled by manager. Huh, why can't I pay the difference? I wait 10 more mins and the manager is again making pizzas, I asked why I had to continue to wait again and he said because he has to go in the back to cancel and I wont get my refund for 3-5 days. What? I have never heard of this in my life. So at this point I am livid, I demanded a refund and asked why he wasted my time and he said this was all my fault. After I cursed him out for being condescending he called me dumb. And then came from behind the counter. I warned him not to do so as I am a woman and that it is aggressive in nature to get in my face. Especially over my money. He did take my advice not to put his hands on me which was wise because like I stated he would have a bigger problem then a refund. He refused to process my refund in my presence and said he will do it later, no receipt or anything to show I would be refunded. Dont go here. Manager is aggressive with women. Poor customer service. I should have known when ordering a simple pizza was that difficult, it was not a well-run establishment. For a place that receives the majority of its orders online, their website is atrocious. They hide their choice of ingredients like they are part of an ancient family secret. Believe me, they are not. At one point, I found myself in the middle of a Hidden Valley Ranch commercial. (It is one of the "choices" on their "menu".) Once their ingredients were found, they were nothing to brag about. Worse of all, they managed to forget the sausage on my order. I arrived to pick up my pizza and following online instructions, I skipped the line and went to the pick-up area. There I was ignored for another ten minutes, while I could clearly see my order sitting on the top of a wire rack where anyone could touch it. No bag on the extras or anything! Meanwhile while waiting, customers kept squeezing by to fill drinks from a machine, located up a tiny dark hallway toward the back. This, in the time of Covid, really? Took my pizza to go, not a bad crust, but that is all I can say about it. I love this place! It's so quick and you get to pick however many toppings you want on your pie! I always order the build your own and add four or five toppings of my choice. The employees are great and aren't cheap about piling on the ingredients. They offer over 15 different toppings, and different types of cheeses and sauces. After the pizza is out of the oven, you can add olive oil drizzle, arugula, or BBQ sauce. Only reason for the four stars is that I wish they had a multigrain or wheat crust, but their white crust is still good. Must try for a quick and easy meal. read more

As a pizza shop operator, and someone who makes pie for living to feed my children, my standards for pizza are high, probably higher than yours. That said, for the price, and convenience, the Blaze concept is solid. The crust is crisp despite the short cooking time because its more a bread texture than pizza crust texture. However, their sauce gets high marks from me. Could use a little more sweetness, but it had a distinctive tomato taste. Lots of ingredient options and all was fresh. A 10" unlimited topping pie is an excellent value. That said, place is run like shit and management and leadership is totally void here. Tables and floors were filthy. Not one of the 12 employees working on a busy saturday afternoon was wiping down tables or sweeping dining room despite constant turnover on tables. When i approached a young african american female employee about a towel so i could clean my table, she pointed to napkin dispenser rather than : im sorry sir, ill get someone to come and clean your table right away."
