I've had plenty of make your own pizzas from different restaurants of these styles and I have to say that I think Blaze is my favorite. They have such a great variety of toppings and when they say unlimited, they mean it. I've been to some places that limit the number of cheeses you can pick or other categories of toppings but blaze does not do that. I've had so many different combinations and they have all turned out great. Their pricing model is also really good. I like their unique beverage options and their brownies are delicious. They will even warm up the brownie in the pizza oven if you want. read more

Blaze Pizza in Midlothian is just awful. We ordered online and they got every pizza incorrect. When we called to get our order fixed they did not seem to care about their mistake. They were unapologetic and said they were to busy. It's hard to imagine that they cannot follow simple instructions on an online order. This store is less than one star. Since my first review in 2017, it was up, then got a bit down. Its up again.... Became again my favorite over MOD. The manager that I've spoken to named John, always makes his rounds, works on the line, and made sure the place was squared away. Compared to MOD off of Hull Street Road in Winterpock.... Well it's far ahead. The main reason I actually like it is they move fast, but make sure that was enough of this or that. Other shops set up like this just throws stuff on then doesnt cook it well enough. Great location. Good pie. Kids that work there seem polite. John does a good job. They have the widest selection of fresh toppings and they give you the perfect amount of each topping you ask for. Also the arugula simple salad on the side....because you can never have too much arugula! A new favorite comfort food spot for me!! Yum!! I've come here twice now and am happy to see they are consistent in quality food and service. This is like the chipotle of pizza! You can order a preset pizza or build your own. I had the Red Vine on my last visit and really enjoyed it. After you make your selection they place your pizza into their wood fire oven. The Blood Orange Lemonade is absolutely addicting!! I like Blaze Pizza and went weekly in Short Pump until it closed. I started going to Mod and local West End pizzeria's but missed Blaze. After many months I finally made the 11 mile trek this afternoon to Blaze Pizza in Midlothian. Huge disappointment. 10 bucks is reasonable for a mini pizza but not when you have to 'beg' for toppings on a 'build your own pizza'. I never had to do that before. It is as if they've cut the portions in half. The cheese was lightly applied and I had to ask for more. 7 slices of pepperoni and I had to ask for more. Chorizo was lightly sprinkled on and I had to ask for more. I know what a Blaze pizza should look like from my experience at Short Pump. I wasn't expecting extra toppings for free, just build me a decent pizza like Short Pump did (like Mod does). Two different employees made my pizza so this is clearly a store policy. The couple in front of me had the same issue. My 'beg for your pizza' was tasty but I won't be back to Blaze Pizza in Midlothian. read more

Fast and furiously tasty .... Unlimited topping for $8?? That's great but if you get greedy and load up with too much toppings, you'll end up with a soggy mess but that's on you, not them. I love the fact that they offer different cheeses to enhance the flavors. The base sauce and some toppings are bit bland but overall, the selection of toppings are fantastic. When we went Sunday evening, the line was long but it moved along very quickly. The salad didn't look all that appealing. I thought this place would be for mostly caryout but they had a decent sized dining area. This place is better than any of your typical national chain delivery/carryout pizza joints. It certainly punches above its weight in terms of flavor and price when compared to pricier Mellow mushroom or a favorite local mom and pop pizza joints. You started off great, but I always wait several months after opening to see how things turn out. Unfortunately, I am severely disappointed. I always get such an attitude here. Especially when I ask for the BBQ or pesto sauce at the end once my pizza has been fired. I have never felt bad asking for something that I thought was part of the experience... Not cool. I work in the food industry as a server. I was always taught to value the customer. I understand that there are some individuals that need a little "extra", but I've always done it with a smile. That's why I am incredibly disappointed with the way I'm treated here. Not once, have I felt valued. On top of that, prices have increased since opening. If service and quality had also increased, I'd understand. That isn't the case. Please. Make a change. Not sure if it's poor management or lack of motivation on part of the staff? Love the pizzas here. Green Stripe is my go to staple. Go at an off hour and you'll get your food a lot faster. Go during the meal time rush and it's a longer wait. It's just a slow business model with too many people touching too many parts of the pizza before it actually gets baked. read more

In the pantheon of pizza providers, Blaze makes a great product for what you pay for - quick service, loads of topping choices, relatively reasonable pricing (more on that later) but my experience left me teetering between two and three stars, so this is actually a two-and-a-half rounded up. Let me explain why - First we showed up here at prime dinner time on a Saturday. We knew it was going to be busy, and it was, but here is what separates a restaurant from merely a cafeteria - customer service. There was very little to speak of here. If I am running a fairly new place and I want people to come back, I greet them at the door with a smile, with menus, and information about how long the wait will be, how to order on the mobile app and save a wait (and get a free drink in the process), what toppings may be the best for allergy sensitivities, etc. Nothing. Lots of people behind the counter were working hard making pizzas for the most part (some were standing around waiting for the high rise dough to be ready), but if even ONE person was available to stand in the front of the shop, where the line was currently snaking, and make me feel even a tad welcome, this could easily have been a four or five star experience. Managers, take note, we want to feel welcomed and find out more about you, even when the place is close to chaos. Now once we got to the counter, the situation did not improve much. When I was next in line after about a twenty minute line (I waited by choice so no complaints about that), the young lady taking orders was spending some time filling out papers for recently-received mobile orders, and I had to wait a good minute or two before she even made eye contact with me. Maybe getting someone else to handle this so my first impression of your employees is they are looking to serve me a bit quicker would go a long way to making my already twenty-or-so minutes on line feel a bit more deserving. Managers, again take note. My son has dairy allergies, and he explained this to the woman helping him. At first, it seemed like they knew what that would entail, like switching gloves and making sure ingredients weren't cross-contaminated. But that didn't happen, and they just kind of looked at my son as if what he needed would be an extra burden, so he didn't push it. Frankly, ingredients were all over the work station, so there was really no true attempt at separating the ingredients past a lid over the vegan cheese. However, much more needs to be done to keep ingredients separated and not thrown around carelessly. I get that this is not an exact science, but this workline was a mess, to put it kindly. This is a pretty young staff, and I know training is sometimes inexact, but thankfully my son's concerns are not so severe that we couldn't eat here. If I knew anyone that had serious anaphylactic issues, I would tell them to go elsewhere for their own safety. I hate to bring this up, but by comparison the Pie Fives we have visited, for example, take MAJOR steps to assure there is no food cross contamination on what is being created, that they are switching gloves, utensils, and keeping the work line food clean of cross-contaminates, and making EVERYONE in the work line aware of the allergy situation with a specific menu item making its way down the line. I know it doesn't sound like a big deal, but to me or any family with an allergy issue, it could be the difference between life and death. Managers, please take note. To the food - great, and happily that saved the day. I will say that the hi-rise crust is the way to go, and truthfully I do not understand what makes it worthy of a two-dollar upcharge, but so be it. Interesting ways to package entree salads as well (on top of a warm pizza crust), and the ingredients looked enticing enough to try next time. So to sum up - A's for the food, Cs and Ds for the customer service and allergy care. I will definitely be back as the pizza was worth the price and the ingredients lend themselves to numerous combinations, but hopefully meetings will take place where the experience of visiting a Blaze actually blazes a new trail for guest service, safety and food excellence. My husband and I visited Blaze on a Saturday at 11am after we had just finished at the gym. Blaze had just opened (11am) and we were second in line. I'm glad because about 15 minutes later groups of people came filing in. The staff was very friendly and helped break down the process for us, comparing it to Subway in that we can add whatever we want to our pizza or go with a premade option. I opted to combine two of the pizzas (Art Lover & The White Pizza). I went with the white sauce and added ricotta, artichokes and olives to the White Pizza basically. The process was easy enough but there's one thing that continued to bother me. The man making my pizza, though he wore gloves, literally just grabbed from container to container for each topping. Meaning he grabbed my ricotta cheese and then dove right into the artichokes next. This grossed me out. Can we please get scoops or tongs for each topping? I worked through it and finished making my pizza then went to sit down and wait for it to be cooked. It only took about 5 or so minutes and it was ready. All in all, I appreciated that the pizzas were not greasy at all and I loved the thin crust option. read more

Blaze Pizza is becoming one of my favorite places to go for a quick, great tasting pie. All the employees seem to be having a wonderful time making your creation. I always ask to have my pizza cooked a bit longer since I like mine crispy. Plenty of toppings to choose from, the Banana Peppers are the best, add the spicy pizza sauce for a bit more kick. Blaze is pretty good. It's nothing fancy, but nothing terrible either. After trying Pie 5 at a Yelp Elite event, I was curious to give this place a try as it is simply another "fast fire" pizza joint. What does that mean, you ask? It's real simple. You pick your dough, your sauce, and your accompaniments, then the staff pops your personal 8" pizza into a super hot oven and it comes out fully cooked 7 minutes later. The staff seemed young and a bit nervous and ill-prepared at times, but I'm not a monster and I understand great skills take time. Fairly priced, a Coke Freestyle machine and plenty of variety will definitely bring me back. B+ read more

They don't take that aspect seriously, and they definitely need to do a better job changing their gloves considering the amount of ingredients they constantly touch. What a great place, Blaze Fast Fire'd Pizza, described as fast casual counter-serve pizzeria, has newly opened at Stonehenge Village Shopping Center near Wegmans. We spontaneously dropped in tonight and it was super busy with a pretty long line, but there were plenty of crew working behind the assembly line and it was a very simple and familiar ordering process. (think Chipotle) A few observations... First, it's a super clean restaurant. Second, every employee we encountered was genuinely welcoming and friendly. Third, the fast fired pizza is great, not NY style pizza and that is not what they are trying to be, still very tasty and super fresh. You choose from a variety of specialty pizzas or build your own. The house crust is thin and crispy, high rise is a thicker crust available for two bucks more, and worth it if you are hungry. There is one size only with a variety of sauce choices and toppings to choose from. You can pretty much get as much or little of the toppings that you want within reason. I ordered, they got my name, I watched as the shredded mozzarella that I chose was carefully piled on, but I was asked if it was enough or if I wanted more, same goes for the pepperoni. After the assembly was finished, my pie was handed off for its fast fire, and about 4 minutes later my name was called and a very happy dude handed over my hot fresh pizza. Seriously, I love seeing happy employees, it makes for happy customers. As for drinks, they do have wine (but only 2 kinds) and beer, soda, and a few other interesting self service choices. Cost: You could make it out for $5 with a simple pie and water, but on average expect to spend about ten bucks a person for a pizza and drink. There are other super affordable take out pizza joints around but this was a fun dine in and refreshing fast Fire'd experience, can't wait to go back. read more

I love the concept of building your own pizza, although all the options can be overwhelming. The red vine pizza is my favorite. I also recommend building your own with bacon, red onion, pineapple, feta and a BBQ drizzle c The staff here is always helpful and very friendly. If you've never been before they will take time to explain the process and the different options.
