Fred was able to give me a plaster estimate over the phone, but he came out personally to evaluate the leak situation. As it turned out, I needed to replace my old copper plumbing lines and reroute them under the brick decking. It was a major job, especially because the concrete beneath the brick was much thicker and harder than expected, requiring significantly more demolition and labor than originally anticipated. What impressed me most was that even though the project took longer and required more work, Fred honored his original quote and never tried to increase the price. That's rare these days. Many contractors would have adjusted the cost once the unexpected challenges were uncovered, but Fred is a man of his word. Once the demolition was complete, everything else went smoothly. Fred was on-site throughout most of the project, supervising the crew, answering questions, and making sure the work was done right. I also upgraded from standard plaster to mini pebble, and the finished pool looks absolutely amazing. On top of that, Fred told me that if any issues come up down the road, all I have to do is call and he'll take care of them right away. Professional, honest, reliable, and stands behind his work. We were looking for a garage "touch up" + front yard update. Project manager Josef was excellent in bringing in his partners (designers, foreman, etc.) to ensure from the design to finish we were collaborating and satisfied with the end result. For the garage, we had it drywalled (no insulation), installation of a attic ladder (bought from Home Depot) to make use of a pre-built storage area, updated garage door and exterior lighting. Front yard included adding extra pavement to be able to park two cars on the driveway (we have the pre WW II one car driveway) but looks like a part of the front yard design, installation of artificial grass (YAY), redo of the front porch to include redoing the porch ceiling with a bare wood look, and installation of a pathway to the front steps. We had 3 home improvement projects in the last couple of years (including this project) and WTG Builders was the best in terms of responsiveness, communication, and setting expectations. Perhaps I'm more wiser too about projects but I appreciated Project Manager Josef's communication and updates and the various trade teams were fantastic. I also took into consideration their work in the local Long Beach/Lakewood area which I think is important. I would use them again and recommend them for similar projects!

They were thorough and careful with diagnosing the key issue and also explained potential future pain points. We decided to repair after they talked us through pros/cons/costs and it's working great now.

The owner, Sam, came across as a little full of himself. He did perform some "repairs," but he did…read morenot fix the leak I originally hired him to repair. In fact, the repairs he performed did not appear to even be necessary. When I contacted him to let him know the hot tub was still leaking, he offered to return and locate the leak; but wanted to charge me an additional $289/hour to do so. Considering that fixing the leak was the reason I hired him in the first place, I found that price ridiculous. I gave Sam an opportunity to make the situation right; he declined. His defensive response to my concerns only reinforced my impression that he was more interested in the money and defending himself than resolving the problem for his customer. The difference with the new company I hired has been night and day. They were far more professional and actually fixed the leak for a fraction of what Sam quoted me. They also seemed genuinely interested in solving the problem rather than simply running up the bill. I rarely post reviews, but I felt this experience deserved an honest one. Based on my experience, I would not use Sam's services again. Consumer beware.
