Fun brunch spot with good bites. I went for Sunday brunch, the ambience is chill and vibey. There's a DJ that plays pretty good music ranging from r&b to hip hop. I ordered their catfish grits and mimosas. The food itself was delicious and the remoulade on my grits was extremely flavorful. Portions are decent, however the prices are a little outrageous. Plan to spend about $35-55 for a plate of food. The mimosa was regular nothing out of the ordinary. Service was decent, definitely took a while to place my food order and to receive the food as well. I really like this restaurant! I have been here twice now. The first time I came was for a comedy show. This last time I came for brunch. My friends and I made a reservation ahead of time. I am so glad we did as the place was packed! First let me say the ambiance is exquisite! The staff was very attentive. Which I can really appreciate as I have had not so good experiences at other establishments. For brunch I ordered a side of grits, breakfast potatoes, and turkey sausage. After hearing about Blaqhaus NoHo for a while and the fun atmosphere they were known to curate, I was interested in traveling out of the way for this place. When we arrived on the weekend, it seemed very basic and not as pictured online, so I was definitely hoping the food and overall experience would be better. The food was decent, but it gets annoying when a lot of items are à la carte, and you end up spending a lot of extra money on each item instead of just having a meal for these items. Also, compared to a lot of other restaurants that serve bottomless mimosas, it being $35 felt very overpriced and didn't make me as excited to order it, along with the extra costs throughout the meal. Came here for Sunday brunch with my partner right when they opened and it wasn't too crowded. I got the single waffle with berries and the wake up call cocktail, and my fiance got the burger. Everything tasted great, although I will admit it was a little expensive, especially the cocktail for $26 but I wanted to try it just to see how it tasted. Ice been to blaqhaus quite a few times. I must say tho brunch is not my favorite, the menu isn't the best in my opinion. I also hate the fact that there is limited parking but now the establishment has valet parking for $15. That was disappointing when you're already spending an arm n leg to eat and drink. They have valet for $12 as it's a very difficult neighborhood to park in. They have a great menu and the food was absolutely delicious. They have a DJ, a full bar, and the music played is great. They have a very friendly, hostess and waiter, and the manager also checked on us a couple of times. The drinks and vibes are flowing and they give a heavy pour. A lot of tasty options. Soul rolls 9.5/10- best thing I had in a while. The only thing is they only give you two and cut them and half to make for. Need at least six. Very delicious and you can taste all the soul food in every bite from the macaroni to the greens, etc. It comes with a sweet-and-sour sauce for a dipping, and it is truly out out of this world. Hot honey lemon pepper 9.5/10- so yummy. It is an eight piece. I normally like all flats, but I got a mix and I wasn't mad at it because the flavor was delicious. Doesn't even eat the ranch as it's so flavorful. Cat fish and grits 8/5 -the catfish was absolutely delicious and the sauce poured on the grip was very flavorful, but the grits were a little greedy. I like mine more creamy. I wish it also came with another piece of catfish. It only comes with one piece, but it is a very big piece and it's very crispy. I got a delicious mocktail, so don't think it's because you don't drink alcohol. You won't have a good time there and you can't enjoy everything till for us. They have who could share between two and five people. I don't do hookah, but my friend said that it was good and they have a QR code to scan on the table when you need assistance. I don't know much about southern food but my god do they make their food here with love. The cornbread comes as two corn muffins which was a little drier but it went so well with the honey butter! The soul rolls are top tier. Eyes rolling back good. You can't skip this. I've had so many things on the menu and everything was amazing. Amazing flight and house margarita. This location has some of the best sandwiches in town. Their fries are really good and they are fresh not frozen fries. I am disappointed that they don't offer Nachos anymore. I went to Blaqhaus and had a terrible experience. The ambiance seemed inviting, but the food was terrible. The greens tasted like they were boiled in dirty dishwater, and the deep-fried eggs tasted like I was chewing on gummy plastic or rubber. Everything lacked flavor. The sweet potato yams were green, and my friend's smothered chicken had oily, watery gravy. And to make matters Worse, flies were flying around inside and When we told the waiter we didn't like the food and mentioned the flies, he laughed dismissively. We left the majority of our food uneaten because of how nasty it was . Despite this, he didn't even offer to take anything off the bill or comp us for this experience . I have been wanting to visit this restaurant for a couple of months. I finally visited on a Saturday afternoon (1/31/26 12pm) with only 2 cars in the parking lot but still was charged the $15 for valet parking in same parking lot. I proceeded to order the catfish and grits (catfish Xtra well done). Note: the picture on menu looks nothing like what is served (pics included). The catfish was extra salty and the grits were more like grit soup. Im so disappointed because as a chef 3 drops of this soup/cheese sauce and less salt on catfish would have made this dish perfect. The best part of this restaurant is staff everyone were very helpful and friendly. My meal catfish&grits and glass Pinot Grigio. Total for my visit $61.00 (not including tips). Shout out to my server Naomi she's such a doll! Upon entering parking lot I was greeted by a valet person. Be prepared to search for parking if this isn't an option for you. was informed if you have a handicap placard to please go ahead and present it to the valet driver to be aware, for more information on parking for the handicap a wheelchair accessible individuals. Upon my entrance, there is a security officer that will check your bag ladies . Gents for you for any items that could potentially maybe be dangerous or what not not quite sure but it gives a sense of safety.. upon my entering I was greeted to my right by a person that sees they ask how many purses are in your party I said it just one she gave me the option of going inside or outside. I stated I want to go outside. Upon being seated, I was very Gracia to have a nice seat outside. It is fairly hot here in North Hollywood, but it is covered. seating wasn't too bad. There's also fans that are just slightly over the seating area so I'm sure if you asked they would cut it on for you if needed be to cool you off. Upon sitting down, I was admiring that the atmosphere was pretty lit, and it was quite nice indeed.. there is music playing almost like a club scene, but there's no dancing. It's just people that are sitting and they do accommodate large groups. They the staff rather greeter's waiters are very kind and smile when interacting with you.. they introduced themselves by name. My initial greeter was Amaiya that seated me. My server was Naomi. Both ladies were very kind to me and didn't appear to be angry or right. They were very pleasant individuals to be around. I ordered my food via the QR coded menu and the prices were very and they do have a lot of different prices. What I ordered was the salmon croquet with egg and potatoes. With water. I noticed that the vibe is pretty good and the individuals entering the establishment are usually mostly African-American and two other races that are there but everybody got along well pretty awesome. I must say I also can say that the food that I did order was a bit on the spicy side, but nothing too extreme. I'm not quite used to spicy foods I try not to eat spicy food, but if a person likes food with a little cake, especially some croquette this would be a meal for them. There was a lot of different menu options here and I couldn't choose just one, but I'd manage to ha ha I was offered a drink but at this time I wasn't drinking in the daytime today I appreciate being in a place where it's just cool and you know it seems as though the individuals that are here are more mature and that they don't seem like they could be you know out of hand or anything like that. I do have to say that they have lights outside of the establishment and I think maybe not quite sure what these are possible lights or maybe heater I think that they are heaters that are also out to accommodate individuals who are sitting outside. Stay toasty guys . I did notice that there is a bar. There is a full bar carrying various items at the full bar and again the music is pretty loud so it wouldn't be for someone who has sensory issues at this time but overall I must say this place is pretty lit like not scary. The parking: the valet if not wanting to do valet, you must park on the street and it is wheelchair accessible to get inside of the establishment. It's not a super big building. It is fairly small but it is pretty well decorated and they have a couple of TVs. There's one main TV on the far south wall there is one TV one one the bar area. There is also seating at the bar too so that makes it pretty exquisite you know so if you were loaner or with a group you good. You'd like to sit at the bar alone you have that option to do so. I've noticed that there are various different drinks and several different collections of wines and spirits that are available to people if that's what you like so I hope this is a good review for everyone that is considering coming to this establishment. I do sincerely hope that this is someplace she choose and in the future, I enjoyed it and I'm sure you will too.. the eggs were fluffy I forgot to ask if they added milk I guess I'll find out In About a hour! Food was okay. Not the best but not the worst. The bread of the short rib grilled cheese was extremely oily and my side of catfish was greasy as well. The soul rolls were great. Bbq chicken sliders was dreadful. They use Sweet Baby Rays (or something comparable) for the bbq sauce. The chicken seemed out of a can too. Nothing about these sliders were made in house.
