My meal: Breakfast potatoes, grits, turkey sausage. My friends: Fried deviled eggs, salmon croquettes, catfish and grits.

I really like this restaurant! I have been here twice now. The first time I came was for a comedy show. This last time I came for brunch. My friends and I made a reservation ahead of time. I am so glad we did as the place was packed! First let me say the ambiance is exquisite! The staff was very attentive. Which I can really appreciate as I have had not so good experiences at other establishments. For brunch I ordered a side of grits, breakfast potatoes, and turkey sausage. Shout out to Blaqhaus for having turkey sausage as a meat option! My friends ordered the fried deviled eggs, catfish and grits, and salmon croquettes. We also got mimosas. Everything was delicious. I was the most impressed with the grits. I love grits and the cook put his foot in these grits haha. I want to also comment on the music selection. 90s R&B was the perfect music for this great food! The food is a little pricey but for the experience it is worth it. The only con to me is the parking. They have a small parking lot so otherwise you will need to look for street parking. I also highly suggest making a reservation. You will not be disappointed.

After hearing about Blaqhaus NoHo for a while and the fun atmosphere they were known to curate, I was interested in traveling out of the way for this place. When we arrived on the weekend, it seemed very basic and not as pictured online, so I was definitely hoping the food and overall experience would be better. The food was decent, but it gets annoying when a lot of items are à la carte, and you end up spending a lot of extra money on each item instead of just having a meal for these items. Also, compared to a lot of other restaurants that serve bottomless mimosas, it being $35 felt very overpriced and didn't make me as excited to order it, along with the extra costs throughout the meal. It was alright, but seeing the distance and mediocre vibe, I would not return.

Never been here before, but I'm so glad I did. I was introduced to this place with my friend who had his birthday brunch here. They have valet for $12 as it's a very difficult neighborhood to park in. They have a great menu and the food was absolutely delicious. They have a DJ, a full bar, and the music played is great. They have a very friendly, hostess and waiter, and the manager also checked on us a couple of times. The drinks and vibes are flowing and they give a heavy pour. A lot of tasty options. Soul rolls 9.5/10- best thing I had in a while. The only thing is they only give you two and cut them and half to make for. Need at least six. Very delicious and you can taste all the soul food in every bite from the macaroni to the greens, etc. It comes with a sweet-and-sour sauce for a dipping, and it is truly out out of this world. Hot honey lemon pepper 9.5/10- so yummy. It is an eight piece. I normally like all flats, but I got a mix and I wasn't mad at it because the flavor was delicious. Doesn't even eat the ranch as it's so flavorful. Cat fish and grits 8/5 -the catfish was absolutely delicious and the sauce poured on the grip was very flavorful, but the grits were a little greedy. I like mine more creamy. I wish it also came with another piece of catfish. It only comes with one piece, but it is a very big piece and it's very crispy. I got a delicious mocktail, so don't think it's because you don't drink alcohol. You won't have a good time there and you can't enjoy everything till for us. They have who could share between two and five people. I don't do hookah, but my friend said that it was good and they have a QR code to scan on the table when you need assistance. They do get busy and after the food is dropped off, it was hard to catch our server. However, it was still a really great time and the food came out very fast, which I was very impressed by. They also have bottle service!

I don't know much about southern food but my god do they make their food here with love. The cornbread comes as two corn muffins which was a little drier but it went so well with the honey butter! The soul rolls are top tier. Eyes rolling back good. You can't skip this. I've had so many things on the menu and everything was amazing. Amazing flight and house margarita. They have a great happy hour that keeps me coming back! Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Ambiance is very hip and modern. Love coming here to watch sports. They have their own parking space but there's also street parking. I highly recommend!

I hadn't been back to this brunch spot in about six years, and I can honestly say this visit was a big improvement from my last experience. What stood out to me the most was the temperature of the food. Everything came out hot and actually stayed hot from start to finish, which is something I rarely experience when dining out. It made a noticeable difference. I even ordered an omelette which is something I usually avoid because I'm not a big fan. I was pleasantly surprised and the potatoes also had good flavor and the portion was great. Another plus is that they offer hookah if you like with a good variety of flavors, and the pricing felt reasonable ($65 for three people). The owner was also very nice and approachable, which added to the overall vibe. That said, the cashier could use some improvement in customer service. As for the food itself, it was a bit hit or miss. The steak was on the salty side and had more fat than I would've liked. The French toast was pretty underwhelming. Just basic, with no real flavor. I was expecting hints of cinnamon, vanilla, or something to make it stand out, but it tasted more like plain bread. Overall, I had a great time catching up with friends and celebrating a birthday. The music was on point which kept the energy up. Just a heads up, go early if you can, because it gets really busy and loud later in the day.

This location has some of the best sandwiches in town. Their fries are really good and they are fresh not frozen fries. I am disappointed that they don't offer Nachos anymore. I had their nachos before it was one of the best ones I had. Unfortunately, they don't have it on their menu anymore. When I visited it wasn't busy so there was a lot of empty seats so it was easy to find a seat. Service was friendly and we got our food timely. We didn't have o wait for a long time. It is a casual dining experience. Parking can be a headache.

Came in town for the weekend and found this gem. Had a really good experience at BlaqHaus and will definitely be back when in town again. Service was great! Thank you Keron for being knowledgeable with all the menu items and providing a very welcoming and friendly service. Music was great, food was seasoned and great tasting. Great portion sizes for the price, overall great experience and will definitely be back when I visit California. The only con was that there is an automatic 18% service fee. Not sure if it's due to heavy traffic or other areas however I feel like they should leave it discretionary based on how busy they are. We came in on a Saturday morning and it was pretty slow. There was my party and 2 other tables during our experience. I feel like that fee takes away from wanting to tip more towards the waiters. If this fee goes to them then great but if not again not sure why it's included. Overall great place!

The host Keron was amazing, the drinks and the vibes were amazing as well. Music was lit!

Where to park wasn't clear to us but it didn't take long to find free street parking a short walk away on Weddington. Ordering at this location is through a walk up window. However today it was fully occupied by a team member handling pick-up orders. There was another team member who seemed to be taking orders as customers walked up, but was also helping with pick ups. This was a bit confusing so we just waited until someone approached us which didn't take long. The husband chose the Bruxie SmashBurger (+ egg), opting to make it a combo with Waffle Fries and soda. I had the Chicken & Waffles. It all came out pretty quickly. The husband said his SmashBurger was fresh, flavorful and perfectly prepared. He loved the waffle fries. My chicken tenders were nicely fried, moist on the inside and seasoned well. The waffle was light and crisp. It all came together with the whipped butter and pure maple syrup -- so good! Thankfully we finally caved in because we've been sleeping on this place for years! It's located off of Lankershim Blvd & Academy Way, basically next to the Laemmle Noho 7 and the Saban Media Center. Bruxie was kind of hard to gauge on how to order - there's a walk-up window for ordering and pick-up orders, but employees can also walk right up to you and place your order for you. You can also order online ahead, so yeah slightly confusing but as long as you put your order in you're golden. They have four big tables outside along with counter seating on the sidewalk. If it gets too hot or cold, they also have seating inside an old train car that is purely counters only. We sat inside the train car, but the only caveat is that people are constantly going in/out and they sometimes leave the door open. They also have a water station inside the train car if you want to cool off. My wife and I both ordered the Kickin' "Nashville" Hot Chicken Sandwich and we shared the Loaded Waffle-Cut Fries. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time - if you're dining there, the employees bring out your food wherever you are and provide plastic utensils along with sauces. The hot chicken sandos live up to their namesake, packing quite a kick! The loaded waffle fries hit the spot. If you're in NoHo looking for some good chicken & waffles, Bruxie will satisfy! We can't wait to come back and try more of their menu! They're open late too if you have some late night cravings (they close at midnight Thurs, Fri & Sat). There's street parking or you can park at the garage of the Saban Media Center.

We've been doing that for a few years now, so that should tell you something right there. Our order is fairly consistent: we each start with a mimosa that comes in a highball glass, so one is usually all we need. Next, we share an order of kimchi biscuits (you get two). So delicious! Packed full of kimchi, bacon and cheddar cheese, it's a nice combo of flavors that play well together. The interior is usually soft and warm, with a nice crunchy crust. Top that with a smatter of the cinnamon butter that it comes with...yum! Our choice of entree varies, anything from avocado toast, to their kale and seaweed salad or any of their other selections they have from their brunch/lunch menu. On this outing, my friend and I both opted for the bibimbap. I opted for the pork bulgogi while my friend got the chicken version. It comes with a generous amount of carrots, zucchini, shiitake mushrooms and bean sprouts, and is topped with a runny, sunny side up egg that serves as an excellent sauce when you mix everything together, along with the gochujang sauce. We upgraded and got it with brown rice in the hot stone bowl. Worth it! The regular bibimbap is good, but when you mix in the crunchy crust that comes from the bottom of the stone bowl, you get an additional texture that makes the dish really stand out. The flavors already come together nicely, and the crunchy bits just enhance the experience. For dessert, we like to share the "lemon pie", which is actually a scoop of lemon gelato that comes in a glass that also includes graham crackers, topped with toasted marshmallows. A nice way to end the meal. And the staff! We usually either have Justin or Ann as our server, but everyone there is super friendly and helpful.
