A friend was visiting and so I immediately knew that I wanted is to have Jamaican food. There's about 3 tables inside and 2 outside and it's set up like a Jamaican or Bahamian grocery store. You can actually buy all kinds of foods and drink that you might find in Jamaica or the Bahamas. The jerk chicken I also had existed on our table for mere moments and the pigeon peas and rice....chefs kiss!! I was impressed by the fact the had vegan oxtails as well. It's been a while since I came so I was surprised when I entered it looked like a convenience store! You order at the counter, and there are a few tables inside and outside. There were quite a bit of food delivery/take out orders. We wanted some oxtail, so we came here and also got the jerk chicken. You can select the heat level but the lowest for the non-vegan and non-seafood is medium. The combo plates come with rice and beans, veggies and plantains. The jerk oxtail was in its own sauce while the jerk chicken was blackened. Consequently while both were "medium" the oxtail had noticeably more heat. Oxtail was quite juicy! Complete, and utter trash. I was told to stay clear of this place and decided to give a chance anyway. I ordered a beef pattie and coco bread. A staple...every Jamaican restaurant knows how to prepare this. Well guess what? The young lady at the register didn't know how to prepare the coco bread???? Excellent fire Jamaican joint! Discovered this little restaurant when I was living in studio city and I have to admit it was definitely hit home. Being from Miami florida Caribbean restaurants are very typical and finding a Jamaican spot in studio city was phenomenal. The jerk chicken is beyond fire, the oxtail is point. The lady was really nice and said I packed the order I said great but I'm missing two items she told me to call Uber eats which I sent them a messages they told me this restaurant doesn't allow refunds or reorders and I'm SOL.
