My expectations were not high as my last airport food Mexican stop was terrible. This place had reviews so we figured we would give it a try. The food is pretty expensive for what you get and nothing to write home about. Average quality. The nachos were the best bargain for your money and probably the best tasting too but how hard is it to smother chips in cheese, beans, chicken etc and it be good? The mahi mahi tacos came out smelling very fishy but I was excited for them. I could barely finish one it was so bad. I've never understood when people say the fish is too fishy but something was off about the mahi mahi. I was just hoping I didn't get sick later. Lastly although the food came out very quick, the servers were snippy, passive aggressive and tried to rush us out even though there were 10+ open tables and we hadn't finished our drinks. We had to tell them multiple times to not take our margaritas away. A strange experience. For the service alone, I would not return or recommend this to anyone. I haven't had that poor of service in quite a while. It made our whole party very uncomfortable. This was highly annoying as the food and drinks were already overpriced, and we were probably there around an hour or less. Pretty reasonable for a sit down restaurant you'd think. We Had such a great meal!! Never been to downtown Phenoix and we were so pleased we found Blanco Tacos! They made our hellish ordeal at the rental car place melt away with they're yummy margaritas and nachos! We didn't stop there we each got different tacos and split them they were amazing as well! It was a decent chicken quesadilla can't say much about it since I was in the airport so it was a little high price I paid more for it than what I normally would've paid I probably would've been better off just going to a less expensive place& getting a chicken quesadilla I also ordered a sangria which I definitely paid way too much for because it was not worth the amount of money that I paid for it I guess when you're traveling you do expect to pay more in the airport so I'm not gonna complain too much but for a sit down restaurant you do expect a little bit better service because I was sitting for a while before anyone did come to serve me. Didn't get to eat here, we did have a larger group so we definitely would've understood if they had told us there was no way they were going to seat us.. instead the older male told us .. just one second I'll get a table for you.. 5 minutes later he says yup one second.. and then proceeded to hide in the back of the restaurant and avoid eye contact for the next 20 minutes I could have easily given a lower review but I just want them to know honesty is the best policy just tell people it's going to take a while and just let people know especially when you're at an airport and there are flight times involved needless to say we moved on and we were fed somewhere else read more

Went to Blanco Tacos in terminal 4 of Phoenix Sky Harbor airport. There were a lot of empty tables at 10 pm at night. However they made me sit in a crowded area next to an elderly gentleman who was constantly coughing. The elderly gentleman threw up on the table. He had paid by then - so he left. I tried to move as far away as possible but the seating was very close by and the place was constricted. Can you imagine that half the restaurant was empty! To make matters worse, once the servers realized what happened, they called the manager who offered me a $1 discount on my bill for suffering through this bad experience. What an insult! The waiter was super nice and I did tip him in spite of the manager's insult. Try to avoid this place in terminal 4 near the A gates. read more

I stopped in here during a layover in Phoenix and was grateful to find a place where I could sit down, order a margarita, and ask someone about gluten free selections. They have both a dining room as well as a quick order counter which is great to have options when you have flights to catch. The dining room has a lot of seating with individual tables and chairs, bar seating, and even long group tables with charging ports. Perfect spot to grab a drink and charge up your electronics before the flight. They don't have gf designations on their menu which would be really nice to help relieve some of the questions posed to the already busy servers. My server was not super familiar with gf unfortunately and since I had a short layover without time to fuss, I went with a salad that seemed safe. The grilled shrimp salad was quite tasty and satisfying with avocado, jicama, and a cilantro vinaigrette. It filled me up and I was able to pay my tab quickly and head to my gate. Seems like it has a nice menu with lots of options, though it would be great if they could update their menu to reflect common allergens and vegetarian/vegan selections as many restaurants are doing these days. read more

We had a very disappointing diner at the Sky Harbor airport. We had identified a severe food allergy with someone in our party and to be honest it was not taken seriously so the cross contamination of food caused a reaction and if no t for our medical experience this would have been fatal. A quick reaction saved the day. The manager was concerned of course, someone almost died. What really upsets me is his resolution was to give us 20% off our bill. The next day I spoke with the GM and he took care of the entire bill and promised to give this staff re training about food allergies. Well I hope our experience saves someone, literally. read more

During my layover in Phoenix I decided to get a to go burrito. I ordered green Chile pork. There was 0 green Chile in the burrito. Burrito also took a good 15 minutes while several patrons ordered after me and had there meal within 5 minutes. Definitely some management issues here. The cashier was very friendly but it seemed like she was just thrown on the station without any training. The low rating is mainly for the food. The meat was tender, but like I mentioned before, no green Chile and overall not much seasoning or flavor going on. For 17$ I would expect at least some salt and pepper in it. I definitely wouldn't recommend unless maybe you want to have a few drinks and then eat the food, which might be the best way to partake at this establishment. read more

Despite a full house and a line, there were plenty of employees and they were working hard to clear places and turn tables so the wait for a party of 4 was minimal. Their Chicken Tortilla Soup is so AWESOME we were dipping our Cheese Quesadillas in it. Watched the manager and a line cook eat food in the prep area. The manager scarfed down a massive burrito for about 15 minutes while all of the bar guests watched on. Then, as an encore, the line cook decided to enjoy some of his own creations while we all looked on. Absolutely disgusting and unprofessional. Another front of house member sneezing and snoting into a napkin and never washed his hands before going back to work. Several staff on their phones behind the cooking line. Had to kill about 4 hours while I waited for my flight and I wanted to sit down and eat relaxed. After searching through different gates of the airport I found this place that felt best. I was able to watch the NBA finals while eating chicken quesadillas for $12.50 and chips & salsa for $2.50. The service was good except for one thing. I asked for a slice of lemon or lime for my water and they told me they didn't have but all the drinks kept passing by with a piece of lime or lemon on top. Other then that the place is a great option to wait for your flight comfortably without spending much for your food. read more

So lets start off by you do have to wait to be seated by the hostess who was super friendly. Then you have to scan the QR code which has your table number. Not only do you use this to view menu you also have to order and pay for your meal here as well. Which is good if you are in a hurry and do not have a huge layover. However they have several waitresses but not will take your order if the app is having issues. Which it was for me. Once I got the app to accept my order. My food was out like 2 minutes later. I ordered the Chicken bowl with glass if water and Red wine. I was almost finished eating by the time she came back with my wine. $26 food was great wine is good water tastes better out of my water hose back home . It's rare that I have time at Sky Harbor to sit down for a meal, so this was a treat. Keeping in mind that this is an airport restaurant, it's a given that we are packed in tight, and food is a little overpriced. I ordered the small guacamole appetizer and a cheese crisp. And a Bloody Mary. All good. They really did an excellent job on the cheese crisp - the tortilla was perfectly crispy! The chips for the guacamole were plentiful and also crispy. I have found yet another rock solid dining option in an airport! I came across this location during a 2 hour layover and was glad that I did. I walked up to the hostess stand and was quickly given a seat at one of the tall tables in the back. One thing I enjoyed was the euro style seating! I really don't mind being placed at at able with other customers who I don't know. IT can certainly make for interesting conversation! I was also very pleased with the service we all ahd at our table. There was one server to who took care of all of us and she did a fantastic job! The food was also pretty amazing. Great location in the center of downtown and close to lots of venues. We came here for dinner prior to a concert at Arizona Federal Theatre. They have a large bar area. I'm not impressed. We had an hour and a half to kill before our flight, so we thought a sit down restaurant would be fun. We were seated fairly quickly and the hosts were pleasant. The QR code ordering was not explained. We did put the whole order in and the system errored saying a server hadn't started a check for us. We then had to input the whole order again, and we got a different error. Finally on our third attempt we got the order in. The food came out quickly. The presentation wasn't amazing. Several splotches of black bean juice on the rim of the plates as if the expo was moving too quickly. The food was descent. I was unimpressed with the useable of white rice rather then Spanish rice. Our server never asked about refills. We had to flag her down to get them. Overall, I don't plan on coming back. read more
