So, the 5 stars are for the service and or table location alone . While we were at a high top we were seated at an open window which we loved. We had 2 gentlemen taking care of us, and they were both wonderful and tolerant of our beginner level Spanish. Our meal was very good 3.5-4 star - we had the croquettes (based on other reviews) , the prawn risotto, and some tacos. The tacos were the star of our ordering, there were 2 of us and we split a plate of 4. They brought a variety of salsas and guacamole which took the tacos to the next level as we put it ALL on top. We finished with the Tres Leches, it was okay - but more like a regular white cake in my vast Tres Leches sampling experience. Our server brought us these cute little milkshakes after or food extravaganza and it was SO delish.
I went here with my family and they were very kind and patient waiters while we worked through the language barrier. We were started off with a welcome artichoke which was such a nice little surprise to start the meal. We got the olives and smoked burrata which was amazing and the Rockefeller artichoke which was good, but honestly something made it way too salty. The prawn risotto was quite yummy, it came with 2 prawns. Lastly, the curry fish was probably my favorite dish!
One of the most beautiful restaurants I've eaten at! The interior was stunning with crown molding and hanging plants, with multiple different rooms. We ordered a variety of small plates including grilled oysters, tuna tostada, beets and burrata, empanadas, croquettes, and chalupas. The croquettes and chalupas were a standout; the only thing I didn't care for were the oysters because they were served with a heavy pour of melted cheese. We got the tres leches cake for dessert which was delicious. Service was attentive. Overall recommend!
What a gem! Gorgeous design, exceptional service, and really delicious food. Came with my husband for dinner on our first night in CDMX and they did not disappoint. People always say CDMX has some of the best food and best vibes - now I can see why. As soon as you walk in, the interior is mesmerizing! We had a reservation so we were seated immediately upstairs, just steps away from big open windows and a beautiful balcony. Our food was equally appealing - beautifully plated and very tasty. My favorite bites of the night were probably the grilled corn, the duck ravioli, and the tuna tostada. Go here!
My friend and I were in Mexico City for a few days and decided to have our final dinner at Blanco Colima,and honestly, it was the perfect way to end the trip. From the moment you walk in, you're immediately taken in by how gorgeous the space is. It's spacious and thoughtfully laid out with distinct vibes depending on what you're in the mood for. There's a chic indoor dining area, a lively room with a DJ, a more cozy private space, and a charming outdoor patio (which we chose). It's clear they've put real thought into curating a full experience for patrons. We started with the shrimp and fries, then shared the pacific red snapper, which was cooked perfectly and more than enough for two people. We also ordered the mashed potatoes and asparagus on the side, and everything was seasoned and plated well. For drinks, I had a mocktail called the Bull 0.0 which was refreshing and balanced, definitely recommend if you're not drinking alcohol. They also had three other options to choose from. Service was top-tier from start to finish. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm, which made the entire experience even better. Blanco Colima is one of those places that sticks with you, not just for the food, but for the atmosphere, service, and design. If you're visiting CDMX, move it to the top of your list. I'd come back in a heartbeat.
Blanco Colima is gorgeous and offers a fun, sexy atmosphere. I dined here during a "foodie" weekend trip to Mexico City. I was excited to experience the food in Mexico City after reading about the vibrant culinary scene in the city. I was a part of a large group of around 15 guests. We ordered many items from the menu all were exceptional and unique. I ordered a steak for my entree which was also delicious. The drinks were also impressive with a nice presentation. I would love to dine here again when in CDMX.
Blanco Colima, in the heart of Roma Norte, offers upscale Mexican dining in a beautifully restored mansion with interconnected rooms, elegant bars, and outdoor spaces. The ambiance is polished yet relaxed, drawing mostly upper-class locals. We sat on the small terrace facing the street -- lively and good for people-watching, though a bit noisy from traffic. A complimentary grilled artichoke with oil and salt arrived first: smoky and flavorful, but a little too oily. We ordered sparkling water with lemon juice and the short rib tacos, which were excellent. The meat was well-cooked -- crispy and juicy -- and served with a generous amount of dill and avocado. A squeeze of lime tied everything together beautifully. It's rare to see a high-end restaurant pull off a street food classic this well. We asked for a gluten-free version, and the kitchen handled it smoothly. Service overall was attentive and considerate. The bill came to USD $33 for one dish and two drinks -- a bit steep for what we had, but not surprising for a place with this atmosphere. The only real letdown was the bathroom, which felt dated and didn't match the high-end vibe of the rest of the venue. A fantastic dining experience. The ambiance was great, the staff were attentive, and the food was delicious. We tried the: - Tuna Tostada - Iberian Ham Croquettes - Salmon with Tamarind Mole - Braised Short Rib - Three Milk Cake (Tres Leches) The croquettes melted in your mouth, probably my favorite of the two appetizers but the tuna tostada was very fresh with a little spice kick. The mole was rich and worked very well with the rice, while the short rib pulled apart effortlessly and was very umami. Also can't go wrong with tres leches, very moist with fresh strawberries.
Really enjoyed my meal at Blanca Colima! Came here for a friend's birthday dinner while in CDMX and thought the food was excellent. Next time I'd request to sit downstairs which was much more lively and cute compared to the quiet upstairs room where we were ultimately seated. Still nice, but definitely preferred the ambiance downstairs. I ordered the Quesabirria and literally savored every bite. Also highly recommend the street corn appetizer - yum!
The ambience, vibes, service, and food at Blanco Colima were all exceptional. Immediately when you walk up to the restaurant, the atmosphere and vibes of the historic building prepares you for a one of a kind meal. My friends and I did the 5 course tasting meal which had a nice variety of Mexican and American dishes. The duck ravioli and cajeta fondant dessert were the stand out dishes for me! It was a fabulous way to celebrate our last night in Mexico City.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the world. The setting, whether you sit inside or outside, is gorgeous. The food pulls from Asian influences while still staying true to the roots of Mexican food and harnessing the local ingredients available. The cocktail list features many different types of tequila as well as other types of alcohol. I had a tequila espresso martini which was very yummy. My friends and I split many plates, all of which were delicious. My favorite is the hamachi. The only downside is the service is a tad slow but not worth fussing over at all. Make sure to get a reservation! If you are in CDMX, you must eat here!
THE TUNA!!!!!!!! If that was all they served I would be happy. Everything else was also delicious. We went for a wedding welcome party and the employees WORK! No one was standing around everyone was always doing something and so so friendly. Drinks are STRONG! Such a cool vibe in there as well, a super fun cute spot!

Wow. Possibly the best seat on the patio in Roma Norte. We had three hours overlooking Calle Colima with friends and it was perfection. The salt-crusted red snapper was prepared tableside by Rafael with serious skill. My husband and I shared it and it was incredible. The roasted olives with toast were the standout starter -- that olive oil was something else. Pork belly tacos were 5/5, and only two come which was the perfect amount. The rigatoni was surprisingly light, just right for a sunny patio start. My friends had margaritas and loved them. We weren't drinking but my mocktail was beautifully made and the tea was excellent. Easy to see why this is one of Roma Norte's favorites. We'll absolutely be back. read more
I had dinner with a friend at Blanco Colima last Saturday night - my last meal in Mexico City before heading home. We were able to make a last minute reservation for around 6pm on a Saturday night. The building is beautiful, and I'd noticed it on previous visits to Mexico City. The inside is just as beautiful as the exterior: beautiful detailing in the walls, crown moldings, high ceilings, gorgeous art and light fixtures... We each had a glass of wine, which were good (I had a Casa Madera; they had Mexican and European options). We shared a tuna tartare, which was nice - classic, simple, well-executed. I wasn't starving, so I ordered a Caesar salad for my entree, and it wasn't a great version. The dressing lacked punch, and the lettuce was unevenly cut and dressed. I'm a Caesar lover (a good Caesar is something I actually get very excited about), but this isn't one I'd repeat. (My friend had a salmon dish that looked classic and simple but also not very exciting, but I didn't try it.) I appreciated that they brought us a few treats on the house - a roasted artichoke and a little dessert (a tiny little drink - a play on a creamy carajillo). But the service was otherwise very uneven. I think our server changed during the meal, and after the change our service was much less attentive. It took us quite a while to get our check at the end of the night even after we asked a couple of times. It was an okay meal overall, but I'd say that the highlight of this restaurant for me was definitely the space itself. Not my favorite meal in Mexico City, but certainly a beautiful restaurant with a varied menu that will likely have something for everyone. read more

A researched place we went here without a reservation but was lucky to find a place for lunch. Upscale place and the food was excellent. Drinks were great, service was excellent and the ambiance was as good as any place that is set in an old mansion read more

The ambience and decor are definitely the highlight of this restaurant, but unfortunately, the service was a huge disappointment. We had an 8 PM reservation but were asked to wait in the lounge because our table wasn't ready. After waiting for about 35 minutes, we were finally seated--but in a completely different dining area than what we originally reserved. While waiting in the lounge, I ordered a martini, which took about 20 minutes to arrive--and it was warm. We placed our dinner order, received our salads at 9 PM, and by 10 PM, we still hadn't gotten our entrees. Meanwhile, tables that were seated after us received their food first. When I asked our waiter, Ahmed, about our meals and the second round of drinks we ordered 35 minutes earlier, he said they'd be out soon. A manager eventually came by and assured us our food was coming. At 10:15--more than two hours after our reservation--our food finally arrived, and several of the steaks were cold. The manager apologized and offered us shots, but we came for dinner, not to have shots. Some of the plates had to be sent back because they were so cold, and at that point, we just asked for the check. Instead of the check, they brought out two small plates of bread and fries, which felt like a last-minute attempt to make up for the poor experience. It still took another 20 minutes to finally get the check. I understand that restaurants get busy, but communication is key. Acknowledging the delays upfront instead of making guests ask would have made a difference. If they wanted to offer something complimentary, it would have been more helpful to do it earlier while we were sitting there with no food or drinks. Overall, this was a huge miss. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, but if you do decide to go, maybe try a slow weekday when they might have the capacity to provide better service. Judging by other reviews, though, this doesn't seem like a one-off issue. read more
I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, and based on the ambience and service, it is hands down 5 stars. The food was not the star of the show, and I had to knock it down one star. The prices are one of the higher price points around, and the food just did not match it. Caesar salad was good, but they served pieces of the lettuce that should not been served. The Lime soup (special) was good, not great. The filet mignon was tough. Now onto the good stuff. The organic beets were fantastic. Chili En Nogada were great as was the mushroom risotto. Desserts were great as well. read more

Blanco Colima was a must-eat & was a perfect dinner spot! The food and drinks were delicious, service was wonderful and efficient, and the restaurant itself was really cool with upstairs and downstairs seating. There was a live DJ which added a nice ambiance and the music was vibey without being too loud. They started the meal with complementary artichokes and there was no wait between courses, everything was spaced out perfectly. Very reasonably priced for the quality of food in our opinions. read more

this is situated in such a STUNNING BUILDING tuna tostada was amazing it was like 10/10 tuna on a nacho-like crust with avocado and crisps on top. I don't like mezcals so cat's drink was too bitter for me dry apple was so much more refreshing to me lol i love apples. The server gave us free artichokes and free baileys at the end they were so nice. Also the service was crazy at the bathroom there was an attendent squeezing your soap and giving you lotions i was overwhelmed.. read more

I'm going to go out on a limb and say my visit here was hands down the best dining experience I had the week I was in CDMX. Didn't have a reservation, but walked in confidently. I ended up at the bar which was empty when I got there. I chose the table right by the window since it had a view. They let me oblige in the degustation despite the menu indicating it had to be a minimum of two people. I was dining solo. What a great meal. The 10 courses were perfection. Started off with the amuse bouche which were 3 small bites. It perfectly kicked off the 2 hour journey I took. What followed was plate after plate of dishes that just kept getting tastier and bigger in portion size. The notable standout for me was the pulpo and the fish. The bed of creamy corn that the fish was on was probably my favorite part. I wish I had some bread to scoop up the rest. The dulce drink at the end was such a nice touch. It gave me just the right amount of energy to get some steps in before my dinner reservation right next door. The service was impeccable. I felt a little bit like a vip by the amount of people that dropped by my table. There was a rotating number of people who cleared my table, dropped off the dishes I was served and the designated person who explained what was just dropped off. read more
Such a beautiful restaurant - the architecture, greenery and statement pieces really made the space come to life. They also had a DJ that made the night more lively. Cute place- lovely architecture, the location is perfect. Staff was very friendly. The food was actually quite good here. Blue-fin tostada was very good- loved the heat and texture profile of it. Taquitos with lamb were good but very heavy Beet salad was so refreshing and light. Great flavor Fondue was a huge letdown- it was sticky and green and just didn't taste like much at all. Mushroom ravioli was ok- wouldn't get it again Risotto was the highlight- well cooked, had amazing flavor, right amount of spice. One of my friends highly recommended this place as high end food with a homely atmosphere, so I grabbed a reservation for 4 for lunch since dinner was nearly impossible to find. It's a beautiful restaurant with dining rooms in different parts of this "house." I heard the downstairs is the play if you're here for dinner and drinks, but we were here during the daytime and the upstairs near the windows is also beautiful. We wanted the tasting menu, but apparently they ran out of some of the items. Instead we ordered tuna tostadas, hamachi, shaved pulpo, beet salad, morel ravioli, river prawns, and the lemon surprise for dessert. The hamachi, tuna tostada, and octopus were favorites for the table. I'd skip the prawns next time. The lemon surprise was delicious and definitely a surprise of whats inside as well as the taste. I was close to giving this place 4 stars because the service was pretty slow and getting their attention was a bit difficult, but maybe it was just an off day for them. Beautiful space, service and quality of food. Visited from San Francisco and felt nostalgia for something I didn't know I was missing: lush greenery, open ceilings and a live DJ playing burning man type Melodies all in the comfort of this lovely eatery. The menu is upscale without the price tag if coming from the states or Europe -- offering seafood inspired dishes and lots of delicious cocktails. Definitely a 'Michelin' worthy experience. Oh this food was so great! The steak quality is amazing, and the service is so generous and kind. Very great people, great ambiance, and great food. The drinks are really yummy aswell! Will come back when I have the chance!! read more
Maybe this place used to be good a while ago. However as of this week, we found it significantly lacking in basic quality. The service was extremely poor - we waited an hour for our appetizers to be served. They also forgot our drinks and we didn't get them till the end of the meal. The food itself was nothing to write home about. It's clear that they tried to be creative with plating but the flavors did not come through at all. There are plenty of great options in Roma so don't waste your time on this one! read more
