This is a MUST TRY PLACE!!! They claim they are the founders of pastor. If you do not eat pork they have chicken pastor!!! That is what I got. Currently sitting at 4.2 and I'm not really sure why. These were very boring tacos and I gotta be honest, this was my last meal in the city and I feel a little jaded. Couple that with their salsas which had zero heat to them, man I just left this place disappointed. The server even pointed out the "hottest" salsa and it was not hot at all, even the least hot salsa had the same amount of heat. I just left scratching my head. Here's what you get. Pastor. Chicken or Pork (the former being impossible to find otherwise). The Pastor is on charcoal not gas flame. You'll get a faint smoke on it but I'd say less intense heat char. We popped in for a late lunch and had fast friendly service and a refreshing meal. The salsas are all bottled which does make for a less fresh kinda feel to it all but there's a variety to pick from. What stood out is the Queso Chicharrón (basically cheese crisp fried on the flat top and rolled up like a dosa) so do not miss that gem. I wouldn't say it's worth the trek to visit per se but if you're nearby it's a good place to pop into. read more

Amazing tacos our favorite was the Al Pastor that comes with a slice of pineapple. The flavors of the Gods. We placed an order to go and they got it a bit wrong but it was fine we got to taste other things. I love the open restaurant vibe which they did very well it felt authentic and not stuffy. Stayed at a nearby AirBnB. They have a catchy sign stating that they are the originators of tacos al pastor. Service for an informal restaurant was great. Limited English speaking wait staff but hey, while in Mexico, speak Spanish. Communicated very nicely. Al pastor is outstanding, juicy and tender. Salsas complimented the pork. This is my friend's favorite place to get arrachera tacos so he brought me here. This was my time trying arrachera tacos and I am glad I did finally. The meat was tender and juicy and filled with all kinds of flavor. The salsas were good to add on top, but needed because of how good the meat was. Definitely a solid spot! read more

I wont dare say these are the best tacos because I still have time in Mexico to find a better place but to date these are the best tacos de pastor I've ever had. You can also watch them make your tacos from the table it's great. I'm allergic to corn but they accommodated my allergy with flour tortillas. I also got an order of seasoned onions (spring onions?). They are perfect to put on your tacos but if you are not super into eating just onion I recommend asking for a 1/2 order. It's still the same price but less wasteful if you don't plan on taking it to go or finishing it. This is probably the closest you will come to eating street tacos if you are not into standing on a corner and eating from a cart. (I definitely recommend eating as much street food as possible). As with all things in Mexico, there's a story that goes along with it. These guys claim to have invented the Pastor taco as we've all come to love. Juicy layers of meat topped with a pineapple slowly churn in circles around a beautiful flame. The place was lively and clean. You definitely see locals hanging out and enjoying the food. Something about the vibe didn't agree with me though, I think all of the banners made it just feel super touristy. The free bean dip is nice, but so drippy it made a bit of a mess. We were on a taco mission that day, so we only ordered 1 taco each just to try it. and I really liked the flavor and pineapple! Came here for a quick dinner on a Wednesday evening. We were served quickly and had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options. The chips and salsa are free to enjoy before your order comes out (no added cost for refills). The bean dip was absolutely fantastic, one of the best dips I had in my Mexico experience. All the other dips tasted good too and none of them were excessively spicy. I had the pastor salseado as my entree. It was pastor meat served in a delicious red sauce with onions and pineapple. It tasted great as a taco an on its own, the sauce had a nice peppery kick to it and the meat was super tender. My friend the golden tacos which were pastor tacos topped with cream cheese. I wouldn't claim these are the BEST tacos al pastor I've ever had, but they are up there among the tastiest in CDMX. This is really the only thing you should be ordering here, as it's clearly their focus. The guac was also tasty, but not incredible. I must be 'Real' bored to be writing a review of a place in Mexico City where I haven't even been to in at least five years. Can't sleep so I originally wanted to write a review of 'Los 3 Caballos' which was a favorite restaurant in Mexico City as a kid and growing up, but could not find it on Yelp, Then I looked for 'Charco de las Ranas' turns out I already wrote a review at some point! haha La Parilla Suiza was also an idea as I remember delious tacos nearby my Grandma's house, but can't even remember anything on the menu either, so going through my awesome Mexican Street food Rolodex in my memory and remembered these awesome Taos Al Pastor at this place 'El Tizoncito' Too bad I already forgot what I was going to say! Great, crazy cheap tacos. There was no English spoken or on the menu so we struggled a little bit with my now very out of practice Spanish, but managed to get by with a little help from google translate. The tree of dips that they bring out is awesome, I only wish that they gave more tortilla chips (the ratio is a bit off). The chips are the real authentic Mexican kind, fried and thick and greasy... so while I'm sure we could have asked for more, I was trying to control myself a bit. As for tacos, I had 3, which was a good amount of food for me, but since they are so cheap, it can't hurt to order more to get more variety. I had two different chicken tacos (marindo and pastor) and a chorizo taco. Definitely recommend getting them with the cheese as it adds a lot of flavor. I wasn't completely blown away, but I did really enjoy all the tacos. read more

Besides the 5 stars, would it help you to know that I ate here 3 nights in a row? Would it help you to know that each and every 2-person meal I consumed here, including cerveza and/or Micheladas came in below $17? If I told you that they claim to have invented tacos el pastor? If I revealed that they're some sort of a chain? (Well, that one probably wouldn't entice you but it might help to know that there's another branch, mere doors away from this one - though I liked this branch better. I also spotted a branch in Coyoacan). It's all true. I could've happily eaten here every night of my trip. There is something on their menu, under the category "Los Quesos Fundidos" listed as this: ¿No que No? ($48MX; 3 to an order). Were I imprisoned and sentenced to die I'd choose this as part of my final meal request. A corn tortilla is topped with melty cheese and jalapeños are thrown into the mix. Is there more to it than that? I don't know, for I was too busy scarfing them down. Other winners? Everything, I'm certain. After night number 1, Guacamole was on repeat as was the ¿No que No?, the Alambra Pastor Tacos ($23MX apiece), the straight up Al Pastor Tacos, and the Chorqueso Tacos (4 to an order; chorizo & cheese). "Ah! Dorados" were very good, different, but we only sprung for them once. "Flan as well. About the only thing that didn't wow me was some spring onions cooked up in a tangy broth. A small tower of salsas and chips is delivered to your table gratis. Refills can be requested but at this location, are often brought before a request can be made. If I ever return to Mexico City, this location of El Tizconcito will figure largely in my reasons. Pure deliciousness. read more
