Lots of locals so that was a good sign. Cold beer and delicious enchiladas. Friendly service.

The patio was very inviting, so even though it was a bit chilly we sat outside. Our waiter was great, he was also busy, but we got our orders in and received in a reasonable amount of time. The cocktails were off the charts. Honestly can't remember what they were, we got two with Mayan honey and spices, and they were phenomenal. So fruity and spicy and served in an aesthetically pleasing way. One was the cocktail of the month, Aperol and mezcal, why not? Tasted like a, "fruity fireplace," according to our friend to which we wholeheartedly agreed. They gave us each an elote amuse bouche which was a tasty surprise and got us ready for more tastiness. Had a variety of tacos that we all enjoyed immensely. Cauliflower-both types were equally good. Birria queso was incredibly rich and just saturated with flavor-in the best way possible. Had esquites with blue corn and ham croquettes that we thoroughly enjoyed, especially the side salsas. Definitely had to do some negotiating when divvying them up since all of use could have eaten more. This place is not inexpensive, you will drop some money here, especially since you'll want to keep trying cocktails and tacos, but it's worth it. Name on the door was Maiz y Tinto, so that confused me for a bit.

Very busy restaurant and located in a very lovely area. The staff was amazing and in sync. We started with some cocktails - the guava mezcalita and jamaica mezcalita and also the chardonnay that was very tasty. Here's what we had: -Tostadas de atun(tuna tostadas)- must get -Ensalada de Pulpo con patatas tibias con albhaca(octopus with potatoes and basil) - octopus wasn't very good and there was no flavor -Pescado à la talla Contramar(grilled whole fish with salsas on top)I would only get the one with just the red sauce, the green sauce didn't have a lot of flavor. This is very filling and enough for 4 people -Tacos de Pescado estilo Ensenada(fried fish tacos) - these were ok The dessert, though!! This is what the extra star is for - The Meringue with Fresas(meringue cake with strawberries)- OMG soooo good. Even after how incredibly full we were, we could not stop eating this. Delicious and so unique but with the classic flavor of strawberries and whipped cream. Don't forget to add a carajillo! À delicious coffee drink with coffee liqueur.

As someone who always struggles with trying to figure out what the "right" thing to order is, I absolutely loved not having to worry about this and rather sitting back and enjoying the vibes/ talking to strangers while awaiting "surprise" dishes. They were also able to cater to my vegan diet with every dish being so unique and tasty. We came by twice and between the two visits every dish we had was different. This was overall probably the most fun and tasty meal we had in Mexico City Some tips: - the restaurant is cash only so make sure to bring cash - there's no reservations so make sure to come early because lines are common. We got lucky in that we stopped by on weekdays when it was less busy

The concept sounds great. The wait list sounds organized. But no. We were told to put our name in WhatApps for a 40 minute wait. We rushed back in time and still waited another 30 minutes for a communal style table. Then, food came out in rounds, but the rounds were for all tables at the same time, so there was a 20-30 minute wait between each dish, about the size of a palm of the hand. There were no utensils, so we ate everything by hand. While waiting for the food, a street vendor came by to sell carpets. We were extremely tired at this point and decided to leave after 2 underwhelming dishes and 1 dessert. The total time was over 1 hour to wait for a table and over 1 hour for only 3 unfulfilling dishes. I do not trust the Michelin system and this place is a proof of it. Food was good, but by no means excellent or out of this world. Had they brought out the food after 10 minutes, it would have been more acceptable. It wasn't worth the hype in my opinion due to the extreme wait and hold between each dish. I and family also felt extremely gassy soon after, and mind you, this was our first lunch in CDMX. There were only 4 communal tables, about 30 seats. No restroom! Cash only or local transfer.
