This was my first visit to any Blake's. I happened to be nearby and had a short window of opportunity to drop in for an early lunch. Very clean and cool space. I ordered the New Mexico Style burger meal, opted for seasoned fries. The team member at the register gave me some recommendations and was pretty convincing that the order was a good one. Ordered a Frito pie for $9 after I added onion and lettuce, it was the worst frito pie I have ever had. DRY DRY DRY!!! Don't go here, go to QT and buy a bag of Fritos and save yourself $7. There was not enough chili to even moisten the chips, it was a bag of chips with a few onions and lettuce sprinkled on. Husband was hungry so we made a first-time stop at a Lotaburger. He ordered and paid $11.89 for a "New Mexico Style" double LOTA Burger plus .50 extra for cheese. I checked the online menu when we got home and what he actually got was a regular LOTA Burger which is priced at $7.99. It came with a generous amount of dark green lettuce, two quarter inch thick slices of tomato, a large quarter inch thick slice of onion, an overly generous amount of mustard oozing out of the sadwich, and the pickle and cheese were missing. There was not a lota burger as the patty was thinner than the onion and tasteless. This was served on an overly dried out burger roll. His French fries were at least better than McDonalds' fries. I had a busy morning and needed to fit in a quick meal, so stopped in for the first time and ordered a burger with green chilis and extras including lettuce. I noticed that a large piece of lettuce was dark green with slime on the edges so took it to the girl behind the counter and told her it was bad. She took it from me and started walking away and said "well what do you want?" No apology, just an attitude. I told her I would like some fresh lettuce. I saw two other prep workers whispering and glaring at me. (I wasn't even nasty to the girl!) Someone else (possibly a supervisor) was nice enough to bring me some fresh lettuce, and I thanked her. In the end, the meat on the burger didn't have much flavor anyhow, but that certainly wasn't the workers' fault. I live 10 minutes from this location and haven't been in 5 years. I quit going because the service was so incredibly slow you could sit in the drive thru line for 10-15 minutes with one other car. Went today and glad I did. The service was very fast, food was fresh, seasoned fries were fantastic and the window cashier (Michael) served us with a smile, which had never previously happened. Came here for lunch with the wife and kiddos. We got three burgers, two shakes, a chicken sandwich and large fries to share. The kids loved their shakes and the chocolate/ cherry combo was their favorite. The food was decent. Not sure why there's so many bad reviews. I've been here a half dozen times and always had good service. Good, hot food served quick by friendly staff. Never had any issues. Clean location. I understand some people my not like the New Mexico style burgers. But you can ask for it to be made custom to what you want. Others want more or less Hatch Green Chili. Just ask for it on the side or or for extra or double Chilies. Some don't like the Al acrart style ordering, but this way you only get what you want. I don't make it to this side of town often, but when I do I always try to stop here for a bite to eat. read more

I've been to 1 other Blake's in Tucson about 5 years ago. I was so unimpressed that I wrote the place off. But, if they stay open a few years, I'll give them another try. Maybe it was just a bad day that first time. Well today was the day. I tried again but this time at Craycroft and River.... I went inside so I could spend a few minutes with the menu. Apparently it's such a small menu you only need a single minute. That's a good sign, small menu, how can they get it wrong? I placed my order, 2 Lota burgers and a medium fry to go. The natural fries sounded great. Drove home... How disappointing! Yes there were 2 burgers (made properly, 1 was no onions) except the bottom bun (at least on 1 of the burgers, was stale!). And where are my fries? Nope, not in the bag. My wife said "go back and get your fries". Sorry, it's late and I'm tired. Disappointed and tired. (Craycroft and River Rd.) Their food is good -- tasty and reasonably priced (less expensive than the golden arches place). I have made repeat visits and will continue to do so. You do have to wait while they cook and put together your order, but you know it will be freshly made. I recommend. read more

Why have I never tried hamburgers with green chili before?? This Loto burger with green chili is a game changer. I am legit contemplating how to create my own at home. I really enjoy the seasoned fries with their fry sauce and the shakes have great flavors...when the shake machine is working. Only downside is that sometimes the food takes a while to make so not entirely as fast food as you'd hope. I've also gone in the morning to try to get breakfast and they weren't open at the hours they said they were which was quite disappointing. Overall, enjoyed the new take on a hamburger with a SouthWest green chili sauce. Not perfect but I'll take this over many of the fast food hamburger chains. read more

The burgers really aren't great. They loaded it with way too much mustard. By the time we got home, the bread was wet and soggy. Being a burger place, it's surprising that the breakfast burritos are the only kind of good thing on the menu. Just don't get hash browns on the burritos. They must be the cheap kind that come dried in a box... add water to hydrate them. Either that, or they are just really stale. Definitely will not eat there a second time. I was super disappointed in Blake's. I thought it was just like New Mexico Blake's and although they claim it's the same, the food is far different. First off the drive through is like waiting and dying a slow death. Granted the food is fresh but waiting 15 minutes with no one in front of you is annoying. The bun was very stale and blah. The burger itself had zero seasoning. I got the green chili/cheese burger. How can it have no flavor? Not sure, but it was flavorless. Was excited to try Lotta Burger on 7/20/21. The food was just ok but the wait was terrible! After waiting 20 minutes, two cars drove away before me. I had to wait even though they left because the orders were mixed up. We only ordered two shakes, a burger and fries. The shakes must've been sitting all the time we waited because they were completely melted. I never write reviews, but 30 minutes in the drive through is unacceptable. Blake's Lotta Burger is a huge disappointment. I do not recommend this business. Just about 9 out of 10 times here they have gotten my order wrong. The staff has argued with me about it. Despite the bad reviews on here, we still decided to come here. I'm glad we did, so we now know not to come back. I ordered the lotta burger new mexico style and Bobbie a Frito Pie. Let me start with her Frito Pie, we both have been eating Frito Pie/pepper bellies all our lives. This one had a small amount of fritos in the bottom with lukewarm chili over them and topped with cheese and onions. The chili was not even able to melt the cheese when she stirred it in. My burger patty was also luke warm and had no hatch chilis on it, so I had to ask for a small cup of them. By the time I put them on the burger, it was mostly cold and unappealing. I ordered onion rings as a side, and although they appeared cooked right, the onion didn't have a good bite through, so on the first bite, the whole onion came out. And I might mention it took quite a while for us to get our food as many have pointed out here. So overall, it's not a good experience, and we now know. read more

We tried this location when they first opened and it was HoRrIbLe after a LONG wait... I decided to give them another try since they've been in business for a while, and it was AWESOME! The green chili burger was so so good, I forced myself to stop eating it so I could bring some home for later, and the onion rings were easily the best onion rings I've had in a long, long time! Please don't come here. I drove an hour and a half to get here. I get it. People come here for the name and because it's a New Mexico staple. Hatch green chilis and I understand. This place was absolutely disgusting. Just take a look at the tea machines all open for everyone to see. I can only imagine how our food is being prepared in the back where we (customers) can't see it. The only reason I gave it a one star because I couldn't give it a 0. The shift lead needs to work on her communication skills regardless of age and how young she is. she needs the tools to be able to handle everything and not be set up to fail. The poor girl was stressed and wasn't set up to have a successful night. The cooks in the back thought it was a joke and kept laughing. YOU NEED TO CLEAN THOSE TEA MACHINES EVERY NIGHT. First off the guy taking our order was being a little moody when I asked if I could buy some ranch his replies were sharp and with a few words, and when he gave me back my change he dropped it in my hand with an attitude . Today I saw the staff were mostly unmasked, a change from a couple weeks ago. When I asked about this I was told "it isn't required." I decided I wasn't required to order from them either and moved on. At this point in the pandemic, if you're an employer who doesn't care about the health and well being of your staff and customers enough to take such a basic public health measure, I'm just done. I moved to tucson 2 years ago and spotted a Blake's Lotaburger. Hadn't had one in 35 years, the first was outskirts of Santa Fe going back to Phx, A "Hatch" green chili burger, what else would you order! I procrastinated until today. I was very pleased with the burger, a big meat patty, a bricohe like bun to match the burger size. I order the Lotaburger, came with plenty of toppings, chilis were 50 cent more. Service was good, asked a second time if I had been waited on. They cooked the burger to order, wasn't reheated. Overall a great burger and good service.
