Like finding the Cake Boss right there in TN ... neat little spot that has a ton of variety of desserts, coffee, and snacks. Such a great experience! I really want to go back to this place. My bunch went pretty late on a week night to avoid the winding line of people you will generally encounter there. I got a little chocolate tart. Delicious. My husband got some apple fritter ice cream dish, also good. I bought some French macarons too, which it is difficult to find good ones. They don't make them in-house but they were still so so good. I think the French macarons are the only thing they don't make in house. Highly recommend! read more

This place is incredible....Any hour of the day I can come here and get a smile, a coffee and a baked good to ease the labors of the day. My family loves this little slice of Heaven here in downtown Bristol TN/VA. They have a good selection of doughnuts, both yeast and cake, as well as a wonderful offering of other deserts and pastries. My favorites are the individual cheesecakes and the cherry almond bars. We have also made it a tradition to get their mini-pies on 3/14 to celebrate Pi Day! They also have great homemade breads. The cheddar jalapeno bread is terrific. It's a quaint little place right off State Street with plenty of seating to stop and enjoy something sweet. read more

I am guessing Bristol doesn't know how to Yelp.....yet. This is a fantastic bakery--I live in the DC area and there is nothing that compares! I have wished for a European style bakery somewhere but I did not expect to find it in the Tri-Cities of Tennessee. The doughnuts are way better than Krispy Kreme and the eclairs are divine--not too sweet and there is a good custard(!) filling rather than some sweet fake cream. There are so many things I want to try.... and so little time. Keep on keeping on Blackbird! read more

Blackbird Bakery is a great little place! The stunning space takes you back in time with gorgeous hardwood floors, a tall staircase, and beautiful furnishings. I came here with six family members, and it was a great place to spend time together. I ordered a very tasty mocha along with a decadent chocolate peanut butter layered bar. Mmmm mmm! Their latte and espresso drinks were decent. We ordered a mini cheesecake, tiramisu, and lemon bar. The cheesecake was barely edible and not at all worth it. The tiramisu was ok but probably also not worth it. The lemon bar was probably the best out of the three, though it was too sweet. All in all, we should have just gone to Starbucks. read more

There is no doubt that Blackbird Bakery has outstanding baked goods. To my dismay, I found that they are not dependable and very lacking in customer service skills. I ordered a birthday cake 1 1/2 weeks in advance. On the day the cake was to be ready, I made the drive from Johnson City to Bristol to take delivery only to find that they had not even made the cake. I was told that the cake order had gotten covered up on their order board. Naturally, I was upset, which was further compounded when there was no offer to correct the situation on their part. An "I'm sorry" is just not acceptable. Needless to same, I will not use Blackbird Bakery again. read more

Came into town on Saturday afternoon for a few treats. I previously lived in the area so I've had many visits to BB bakery. Today I picked up a banana pudding and a cheesecake. Both were almost room temperature, not cold at all. I think there may be an issue with the display case temperature or either the bakery is so busy, the case can't maintain proper food temps from being opened all day. I would highly encourage the owner to check the food temps of the cooler. I did not finish either item as warm cheesecake and banana pudding is pretty gross. read more

Great service. We've dealt with a peanut allergy for many years and with this being our first visit we weren't sure what to expect, but bakeries tend to be particularly risky. Sure enough there were several peanut butter items on display which ruled everything out for our son. He understands and is a good sport about it, but was still sad to not get to enjoy a donut this morning. The lady behind the counter, upon realizing the situation, offered to personally make a couple of donuts from scratch on the spot so that contamination wouldn't be an issue. In 8 years, I've never experienced this level of consideration and we were all beyond thrilled. Awesome service and everything we tried was excellent. read more

I just spent over $45.00 for 10 Strawberry Delight desserts for a dinner party. Could not believe that the desserts had no Cream Cheese filling!!! All 10 consisted of a Graham Cracker Crust, Cool Whip, the 1/8 Strawberry Gel coating and a dollop of Whip Cream w/ a Strawberry! Terrible embarrassment for me after all the hype I gave my guests about the desserts. Absolutely no quality control is taking place at this Bakery for this happen! OMG!!!!! OMG!!!! OMG!!!!!! I'm visiting a friend in Bristol, and was dishearten to not even see a Starbucks in the area, so I was stuck with diner and Waffle House coffee. Walking in I fell In love with the atmosphere, and the case full of wonderful delights, but I was there for donuts and more importantly the espresso!!! We got in line which led to a bit of confusion about how to order, and got to see all the sweets down the case and the donuts as well, and finally my chance to order a latte was upon me. My big and really only problem with this place is that you order you wonderful beverage of caffeine at a place that's separate from the actual place it's made, and thus the ingredients of said coffee goodness which left me blank on my latte type and running around to figure it out. The donuts were beyond amazing, at first they seemed a bit odd, but so very very very worth it, and the latte (delivered by a fellow nerd) was amazing and exactly what I needed like I read my mind. read more

Their cinnimon rolls are to die for, I always bring home a dozen doughnuts, glazed and chocolate covered glazed. My favorite place in Bristol! My wife and I stop here as often as we think we can get away with it! Chocolate dream cake is our favorite, followed closely by the tiramisu. Haven't really had anything we didn't like. Coffee is really good also, though sometimes during their busy hours (Friday and Saturday night) the coffee dispensers will run out and they will have to be switched out or fresh coffee brewed. At its busiest, the line will wind all the way through the building, and the wait can be excessive. Definitely recommend going on a Wednesday or Thursday night, as there is usually only a handful of people in line. Live music on some nights, usually local talent, keeps the place lively and give off the small city vibes I love so much! read more

Just a few minutes off the highway and well worth a detour. The potions are large and the prices are very reasonable. I tried an eclair and an apple streusel cheesecake bar. Both were good quality, made correctly and tasted great. The selection was huge - I don't know how they make so many items in one shop. The warmed cinnamon rolls looked awesome so maybe next time. Yum and yes! If you're in town vacationing or a local - this is the best bakery in town. I was lucky enough to be out for the race earlier this year and got our group a ton of goodies - so yes, I pigged out! From their donuts (cookies and cream) to their cream-heavy cupcakes and their pastries, we loved everything. Good coffee too. Definitely a place I would check out for a morning pastry and some work. There is street parking and even though I had a navi system with me, I drove by it the first time.
