I was totally surprised by how much stuff they had in their store. The clothing is amazing! Great selection of vests, jackets, eyewear, jewelry, helmets, patches and leather bags and goods. One of the owners was helping us and couldn't be more accommodating. There's motorcycle parking in front as well. Also, they require masks and that you sanitize hands with provided cleaner when you enter the store. We spent some time in here looking around and kept finding more and more stuff we love ! So when I opted fir a return and refund, they not only charge for return shipping but subtract original shipping from the original price of the helmet. They advertise "free shipping" but obviously it's figured in on the advertised price of the helmet. so I got charged for shipping twice due to their inaccurate sizing. Made in China. read more

I purchased a leather jacket from this business and when I went to check out the USPS shipping estimated between October 22 and 23rd. After I checked out and paid and received an emails saying my order is estimated on the 26th from UPS. I contacted the business because of the discrepancy and they pointed me to something buried on their site not visible when you're checking out about shipping to the West Coast. They know exactly what they're doing with this, they're making it seem like the shipping is going to be super fast and then they switch it after you pay. I received the jacket and it's of extremely low quality, the leather is thin, feels cheap and would not protect you in a motorcycle accident. I contacted the buiness for an exchange, on their site they say you can exchange it once for a different size without paying the shipping but when I contacted them to exchange the jacket for another model they said I would have to pay the return shipping fee, and then purchase another jacket on a separate order... I called again and asked to speak to the owner, and I was told that I was not able to speak to the owner. It's really hard to get the correct size and quality from a picture especially when it is not an accurate description on their site. And when I tried to explain this to the person I was talking to they abruptly interrupted me, and told me not to yell at him when I was not "yelling". Every employee that I interacted with through this business is unhelpful, rude and unaccommodating. I've been really trying not to purchase from Amazon recently, but honestly the piece of mind Amazon gives you with the return policy...I will not be purchasing from this business again. Update: the business has responded to my review, saying that they have no record of a Teddysurf, however that is obviously not my real name. For reference, I'm a brand new rider with less than a month of riding experience. If you're reading a review on this place, you were likely in my shoes at some point. New to bikes, mostly uninformed about the necessities of accessories and the importance of gear. I went to 4 other places in search of all my items as these things were (un)surprisingly expensive. All I needed at this point was a jacket but I'm a large guy and most places cater to the sportbike enthusiasts where all their gear was slim build which....I am definitely not. I stand at 6'1 with a 50" chest. I usually wear xlt shirts but apparently in bike gear, I'm a 2-3x which not a lot of stores carry. My general area is fairly limited in motorcycle stores but I ended up stumbling across this one by accident and man, am I glad I did. The owner walked me through their entire inventory, had me try on everything, explaining the whys and why nots of certain gear types and did push anything obviously expensive or unnecessary on me. I cant tell you how much I appreciated this whole process. When the owner shows they care about what YOU want, that quickly becomes the store I trust. I'm more than a quick buck. Especially when it comes down to safety while riding, what you wear is paramount to a sale. Now prices weren't bad, you can definitely find cheaper deals online but nothing beats trying on the stuff upfront and getting a professional opinion on the items. This is a place for all bikers and even none bikers. Such a cool experience. The owners are amazing. They greet you the minute you walk in, they make conversation with you and answer all your questions. Even question that are none bike related; for example, where to eat. Lol. Merchandise here is top shelf things you can see online they have it and for a cheaper price or about the same. Across the street from the shop they have motorcycle parking. The shop is very big and has everything you would need to start riding or even apparel to represent bike life. There is a men's and women's side. Just very organized and again amazing owners. My experience here was amazing and I will definitely go back again! Called up to see if they had what I needed, which they did, Pam (one of the owners) gave me a time to meet her at the store. I was looking for masks to use while riding and for COVID. She told me the styles she had in stock and I was able to go and pick them up with no issues. Such a great small business. I struggled with the number of stars for this review. I would have preferred to give it 3.5 stars, but until Yelp deigns to allow the half star, I'm giving the benefit to the business. This oddly located motorcycle attire and accessory store is smack dab in the middle of the Nautical Mile in Freeport. The selection of motorcycle attire is unparalleled outside of an HD dealership and luckily less expensive (though, not by much.) I've purchased a few items here - a neoprene face mask, a cargo net, a low-profile "novelty" skull cap, etc. The prices were far higher than one would find online, but with the benefit of being able to try the items on it may be a worthwhile visit. read more

So, it has been a bit since I went to Blackbeard's to pick up my vest but I finally got around to getting a moment to write this review. I was searching for a new vest as my old one didn't fit and a while back I decided I wanted something a bit more like a sleeveless MC vest. I found one by a company called First Manufacturing Co. that I really liked as it was slightly different than your classic MC. The only problem was I couldn't find a retailer who sold it locally. I have had bad luck ordering online and wasn't sure what size would fit the keg I carry around where the 6 pack once was. I contacted "First" and they gave me the name of the closest place that they said might have it in stock. My thought now was to go try it on, find out my size, and then find it online cheaper. The place "First" gave me got 2 e-mails and 1 call which led to nowhere (the e-mails weren't even answered) but I had found a second place in Freeport L.I. where they carried things from the First Manufacturing Co. and I sent them an e-mail. The response came very quickly (from Blaise) and they said they didn't carry it but would be glad to order it for me (also putting me in touch with Pam). So knowing my original plan I didn't want to stick somebody with stock they might not sell. I replied this in the e-mail back and thanked them. They assured me it was no problem, they would order both sizes I needed and if necessary they could return them to the manufacturer. They would even wait as I told them it might take me 2 weeks to get there. Normally I am not used to customer service like this in this day and age, and I changed my plan totally and decided I would buy the vest from them whether I could find it cheaper or not. I'm happy to say they had the vest, were very personable, and even forgiving about a hiccup from a third party involved. While I don't get out to Freeport much if I need anything else they sell I will definitely be going to them. Thanks guys. read more

Came here with my best friend looking for something with the Blackbeard's logo on it. I ended up buying two tshirts, one full price and the other was part of a really great promotional sale they were having, and my friend bought a sweatshirt. The owners were very friendly and funny, helping us out with shopping and helped me out with a fitting room. I recently went into Blackbeards Motorcyle Gear Shop because I needed to borrow or buy an iPhone 6 cable and block. I wasn't under the impression that a Bike shop would sell one, but may have one to borrow. Being that I do ride and I was riding, I would go to my fellow family members. I met a woman, Pam for the second time. The first time she was amazingly friendly and that goes for this time as well! Pam was very helpful and even called the convenient store down the road to see if he sells what I needed. She went out the way for me even knowing I wasn't going to buy anything. Her boyfriend (the other owner) was very polite to me as well making sure my White Kawa Ninja 650R would be okay since I left my helmet unattended. As I got back to BlackBeards, Pam had a very warming conversation to me about the shop and the items she sells in the shop. The leather jackets and vests are beautiful. I personally love the shirts because they are nice and cozy looking - plus fairly priced. There is a great selection of gloves, patches, helmets, pretty much everything. Although, I didn't buy anything this time - I will certainly be going to purchase something next time I have my car on me. Also, they have Motorcycle Parking for up to 15 Bikes I believe!
