Good place for FFL transfer. A small store but also provides gunsmithing where they pin/weld a barrel for me to bring it to compliance. Also have other items in stores including featureless and fixed mag AR15 ready for purchase. Bruce helped me with the pin/weld while I waited in store and was polite and professional. He's always been helpful answering the questions I've had about different guns, mods, etc. Until this year it was a relatively small shop where you would go in do what you wanted to do or get what you wanted to get. Around middle of this year its grown approx. triple in size so you have more space to walk, time to browse ..... and be tempted to buy more things;) Initially, in gthe beginning, I first came here because of proximity to my home but I continued coming here because of the service. If he is with a customer it is never that long a wait before he gets to you and the atmosphere is a little more relaxing unlike some other shops where you feel rushed and stressed to make a quick decision. I always had a fantastic experience with this establishment. The owner is a very nice guy who will go above and beyond to help a customer. He has done so for me when I had to leave my firearm there longer than I expected before picking it up for an inspection. He conducts all necessary paperwork and is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to his business. To date, it's the only place I go when I require ammunition or accessories. The owner Bruce, is really patient and fielded a lot of questions from me, a newbie that didn't even purchase his firearm there. In fact, he took pains as to not embarrass me about not knowing anything about the sport. He helped me with my stance, my grip advised me about eye and ear protection. He explained the limitations of my permit in Nassau county, what ammunition I should buy, much more so than the mandatory course I took. Ive all ready decided that Hunters Essentials is my go to guy for all firearms related issues. I called Hunters essential this Friday to ask about guns available in .308 to replace my Savage Axis. Bruce answered and told me what was available but asked what the issue was with my rifle. When I told him, he said to bring the gun down and he would take a look. I did and within 15 minutes he took my gun and helped me fix a bolt issue. Everyone in the store was nice not like T&T gunnery or Coliseum Gun. Rather then sell me a gun he fixed my old gun which I love. He charged me almost nothing and made a customer for life.
