    After my last horrible experience here, thought curbside pickup would be better. Just finished talking with a manager, Melissa. No apology after letting her know I've been waiting in my car TWENTY FIVE minutes, checked in twice, called three times and no one has come to my car with my ITEM. George, who delivered my item, was polite and apologized! Kudos to him!

    I visited with a friend who needed to buy hockey equipment for her 8 yr old daughter. We were not sure what we needed just got a list from the league that we just signed up for. Luckily the sale person we encountered was knowledgeable. He got us the helmet and stick from the aisles we were walking down. The rest of the equipment he said he needed to check the back. He was gone for a while and I actually asked did he forget about us. Well...he definitely did not! Not only he came back with the rest of the gear, he brought a cart so it was easy for us to move it around! Definitely GREAT service. Another great thing was they take competitors coupons so the 15% off models coupon was used! While on line the displays around the cashier was messy. One of the shelf was off and you can see the mice traps visible. So stick with the equipment and skip the food.

    Got a pair of binoculars found in hunting section. I did not get the gentlemans name so i asked him if the binoculars in my price range of under $100 he showed me one that runs about $80 a good bang for my buck. I asked if they had an open one so i can see it because we all know those items are shrink wrapped in plastic. He checked the case none.he checked the back none. So he opened the one on the shelf for me to try. I thought wow this is so nice of him! While he was looking i decided to check amazon to compare prices. Amazon only had it a few dollars more and as much as i enjoy shopping online this guy really went above and beyond and made a sale our of me. Not to mention i recieved a gift card from my birthday that i decided to use for this purchase! Was able to use my expired coupons and double point coupon also! I decided on the Nikon Aculon 10x25

    Really bad customer service!!! Red labeled sale items on the whole shelf, when you go pay for it, it's different price. Tried to tell the cashier it's listed as sale, he said it's not! Went back to that isle and asked a different associate on the floor, she said they are on sale, then I told her the cashier wouldn't offer the sale price. She then look it at again and said "oh, that item is not on sale" and walk away!!!! Seriously? Not even an apology as it clearly it was their fked up because they are all listed on sale for the same item from top to bottom on that rack! Wow, I don't have to buy from DICK!

    Waited in line for 30 minutes. The 2 girls working the counter could not be any slower. I realized I was over charged $5 on a hat. Not a big deal. I found a floor manger who told to wait in the same line to fix their mistake. Y'all can keep that. You guys are extremely incompetent. Train your employees.

    If you want C19 make sure you shop here and stay as long as possible in fitting room - there's 0 ventilation inside!

I've been purchasing our fall/winter clothes from both in the store and online. So far I've purchased a new Tweed Sports Coat, This Beaufort coat and I bought a coat for my wife. Lemme tell you about the Beaufort coat. The coat when you first touch it has a wax coating on it. That's right wax. Friggin wax!!! The wax is used as a water repellant, very slick. Every few years the coat needs to have the shell re-waxed. These coats (From what the salesperson explained to me) are handed down from generation to generation. You'll see all the ladies with their Burberry rain coats and they'll turn up the sleeves to show the Burberry pattern, Big shmeal. Orvis coats are functional and will last forever. There are so many pockets, they are made for duck hunters and fly fisherman. So they'll have pockets for hunting licenses, pockets for gear/ammo, you get my drift. This was all put into motion because I bought a Timberland rain coat out east at the Tanger Outlet Mall. I don't know how it happened but I got a bleach spot on the shoulder and on the sleeve. When Orvis opened in Garden City and I saw the coat with the wax system and jade green color? Sold! Sure it costs a few most shekels than the coat I bought at the outlet mall. If I have it for 25 more years? It's money well spent. Find this store!!

    I often shop at Orvis, both online and at this location. The last three times I came to purchase…read moreitems were this past December. Each time, an AWFUL experience. Not once was I greeted, or asked if I could be helped. Poor customer service. I will never come back to this location again. The employees themselves seemed small minded, maybe? I'm not even sure how to describe them.... I'm not kidding...is there something in the water over there or what?? Honestly, I'm not sure what the deal is, but in my experience, they seem to be very selective in the customers they decide to interact with. I feel like I'm in the twilight zone when I'm in that store. Like HELLO?! Can someone actually acknowledge that someone just walked into your store? As anyone who has shopped at Orvis, you know the clothes aren't cheap. You're paying for items with great quality.....perhaps a little customer service to go along? A few times, I overheard an employee (who also didn't greet me) ask another employee if she had greeted another shopper. She responded no, walked past me to ask the gentleman if he needed anything, where he declined. She then made direct eye contact with me, and went back behind the register to finish her personal conversation with another employee. Each time, there were only about three other customers in the store, including myself. One of these occasions, I placed my items on the counter, and the cashier stood there with her arms crossed. She didn't ask if I found everything I was looking, she didn't say a word to me. Very odd. So i began to look around wondering if I had cut someone off. Then, a male employee approaches the register and asks my if I found everything. On another visit to this store, when the cashier began to ring me up, I asked her if they had more shirts that were on the mannequin. I would have asked someone while I was shopping if they had ever asked if I needed help. Either way, her response was.."if we do, they'd be over there...did you check?" .....Really?

    01/30/36 Gone are the days of enthusiasm in retail sales…read more There used to be a thrill of serving a customer, a rush of adrenaline to get them to buy, a challenge to get a multiple sale on shoes. Nowadays, the thrill seems to be gone. I walked into New Balance, Garden City NY, I got half way in the store and it was quiet. No greeting, no, how can I help you today, or what kind of tennis shoe/ sneakers are you interested in. It's more like you're here for a reason and you're not going anywhere else. After I spoke first to the young sales rep and asked for the men sneakers and the wife with liye weight sneaker, he indulged me. Going forward, after I choose the type I was interested in, the rep brought the sneakers over, took the sneakers out of the box and left me alone to engage in conversation with his coworkers. Presentation not only matters with food, it matters in all things. The sneakers he brought over, laces were on a unattractive pattern. I'm not nitpicking, just noticing the difference in the present and the past. I'm all about paying a pretty penny for comfort. When I used to run half marathons, I tried to skimp on a pair of running shoes and long story short, after a 5 mile run, the next day, my feet hurt so bad, I could hardly walk, no more $65 imitation of NEW BALANCE. So I chose a two pair $199 and $94. I would say that the value I received was pretty fair for the type show I needed. I need one for physical therapy and one for every other day use. Of course after the weather clears up. In conclusion, there are improvements needed but time has changed and those changes may never come back. Not for nothing, a little bit more of working one on one with the customers when there's 4 customers in the store and 4 sales reps on the floor. Inspire more, yelp more!

IS this the right way that a manager speak to a customer? I think this is so RUDE. So I just wrote this review to the people whom wants to return your staff to champs in Roosevelt mall in garden city Long Island , take care your staff because they will refuse to give you money back because there is even ONE black spot on it.
