I do recommend this Dick's it's usually fine but today, I unfortunately, got the person that didn't want to work that day. Don't know what his issue was but he had such an attitude was even on his phone while my nephew was trying to pay. He seemed so annoyed that I disturbed him by wanting to place an online order. Ughh. read more

It's that time of the year for me, I have to buy shoes for walking, running, and for everyday use. My wife and I went to Dick's Sporting Goods where they sell an abundant variety of shoes to choose from. I specially like their efficient system when I buy shoes, first I try to choose the item/shoes that I like, then I scan the shoe at their digital pad to find out if there is an available size for that item, if there is, I can digitally request it so that I can try it on, I just have to input my name then wait for my name to be called by the staff when they carry it out from their storage. The service was fast, systematic and efficient. I was able to buy new shoes in no time. Price is fair, they usually have red tags for sale items, shoes were properly arrange in each category. I really had a good experience going to this store. read more

It is the biggest sporting good store in the area. At this location, there is plenty of choices for style's and sizes... are most likely be available. Definitely you won't leave without buying something if not your first choice , an alternative. My husband had a great experience of availing the merchandise he liked in a fashionable way. Upon selection of the shoe item , he scanned to verify if there is available on his size and requested for it via the customer scanner located on particular station . He just seated and wait for his name to be called for item delivery. He fitted the shoes , was satisfied and purchased. I guess, there is a spot to leave the item if not happy with it. Looks like got to do all over again if needed a different item. Pricing is reasonable. Location is perfect. Pretty straight forward service. read more

The products sold here are name brand and the prices are fair, so if you know what you want go ahead and shop here. I am posting this bc I am very annoyed at a sales person, who aggressively sold us an inferior lacrosse stick than the one we went to buy. I know nothing about lacrosse but my son did his research and found the stick he wanted. When we got to the store the sales person aggressively push another stick. Being that I know little about the subject, I took his word for it. I later learned that this was an inferior stick and Dick's was really pushing it as many large stores do bc of greater profit margins. I now go to Lacrosse Unlimited even when I know what product I want ahead of time read more

The majority of my reviews are all about service company like this? I can't comment on product. I'm not buying a product from this company itself. They come from all over the place. I had to get my hunting tags reprinted this year I called the store and the woman who answered the phone was very friendly, even joked with me and answered my question so I proceeded to the store to get my tag reprinted Didn't know how to reprint them, so we probably called someone to help and the woman who answered the phone showed up to reprint my Twitch promptly quickly with the same humor, which I enjoyed Trans took 10 minutes cause $15 and I was well on my way. Good job. read more

After my last horrible experience here, thought curbside pickup would be better. Just finished talking with a manager, Melissa. George, who delivered my item, was polite and apologized! Kudos to him! read more

As amateur in fishing, my son and I checked out the fishing department. Sales Tyler was very patient and helpful. He managed his time efficiently since multiple customers needed assistance. He even reminded us about the fishing license which we know nothing about. He then did it for us. Very friendly service. Good selection. Price was reasonable. Will definitely return. read more

I visited with a friend who needed to buy hockey equipment for her 8 yr old daughter. We were not sure what we needed just got a list from the league that we just signed up for. Luckily the sale person we encountered was knowledgeable. He got us the helmet and stick from the aisles we were walking down. The rest of the equipment he said he needed to check the back. He was gone for a while and I actually asked did he forget about us. Well...he definitely did not! Not only he came back with the rest of the gear, he brought a cart so it was easy for us to move it around! Definitely GREAT service. Another great thing was they take competitors coupons so the 15% off models coupon was used! While on line the displays around the cashier was messy. One of the shelf was off and you can see the mice traps visible. So stick with the equipment and skip the food. read more

This is for the location in Walt Whitman shopping center Melville/Huntington. The location is enormous, clean and well organized. I mistakenly placed a one day delivery with since it was after 2pm, was actually NOT a same day delivery, but an overnight delivery. I tried to cancel right after submitting. I immediately contacted Dicks and they were unable to accommodate or help in any way. I was informed that they work with Door Dash and therefore they can not cancel. I didn't purchase with Door Dash I purchased through Dicks. This is a refection of Dicks Sporting Goods and I am extremely unhappy with my experience. read more

Good store. Have alot of merchandises and have a good customer service. I was looking for bike helmet and found my size.

Got a pair of binoculars found in hunting section. I did not get the gentlemans name so i asked him if the binoculars in my price range of under $100 he showed me one that runs about $80 a good bang for my buck. I asked if they had an open one so i can see it because we all know those items are shrink wrapped in plastic. He checked the case none.he checked the back none. So he opened the one on the shelf for me to try. I thought wow this is so nice of him! While he was looking i decided to check amazon to compare prices. Amazon only had it a few dollars more and as much as i enjoy shopping online this guy really went above and beyond and made a sale our of me. Not to mention i recieved a gift card from my birthday that i decided to use for this purchase! Was able to use my expired coupons and double point coupon also! Really bad customer service!!! Red labeled sale items on the whole shelf, when you go pay for it, it's different price. Tried to tell the cashier it's listed as sale, he said it's not! Went back to that isle and asked a different associate on the floor, she said they are on sale, then I told her the cashier wouldn't offer the sale price. She then look it at again and said "oh, that item is not on sale" and walk away!!!! Seriously? Not even an apology as it clearly it was their fked up because they are all listed on sale for the same item from top to bottom on that rack! Wow, I don't have to buy from DICK! read more

I used to love this store, now I won't return. Last night I was in the fitness section. There were kids playing with some very expensive equipment and throwing things. Not one wearing a mask (they had them, but took them off). These kids were too young to have come on their own - where were their parents? A store employee said he'd check the back to see if he could find something I was looking for. No exaggeration; he went in the back and after 1/2 of his not coming out, I left. read more

I purchased for curb-side pick-up an SPI running belt ($19.99) and two SPI H20 companion water bottles ($9.99 each) online - after confirming in stock at the Garden City store. A half hour later, I got two emails saying the order was cancelled because items were out of stock. Total with tax = $43.42. I called DSG's customer service line and asked what happened. The rep couldn't explain but was able to help me order by phone, but now I would have to pay shipping. The rep understood why I would be unhappy about that (due to order cancel) so she gave me free shipping. Amazingly, I got the items the very next day. I tried them out and the product - particularly the water bottles were terrible. First, they are tiny. 8 oz is not much. Even with both it's not nearly enough water. Even so, the main problem is that the bottles don't stay put. They fall off when full or empty. The product description says bounce free but that didn't work out. The bottles bounced off a few times. I decided to return in-store. When I got my return credit receipt, it was for $36.91. What happened to the remaining $6.51. I called customer service and the rep (Saidon) couldn't explain why the in-store price/credit price would be different. (Are they charging more by phone than in store? Shouldn't the same product cost the same on-line, on the phone, and in-store? And if not, consumers should know the different prices in order to make an informed choice. The Saidon was excellent. Very professional and understanding. He gave me credit for the difference although this is not typically done. He understood the weirdness of the situation and acted in a customer-friendly way. He should be recognized for his good customer service. For Saidon, I give 5 stars. For the rep who took the phone order - I give 4 stars - props for free shipping but losing a star for charging higher than in-store. In-store, I give 2 stars. Cashier Rachel was professional and friendly. Wait was not too long given length of line. Good social distance marking. Not so good in enforcing distancing, by store staff. And, of course not refunding the full amount. I can't blame Rachel - the computer made the error, so to speak. Store management should look into making sure DSG does not short change other customers. Overall 3 stars. I shop here occasionally and have been pleased with products, pricing, and returns. This seems to be a one-off. read more

We visited DicksSporting Goods - Garden City, Long Island/NY location, and the service was superb. This was our best experience at a sporting goods retail. All of the staff from the lower floor associates to Stephen who supported our selection and escorted and loaded our vehicle. Connor the Assistant store manager, is a true leader and he was courteous and helpful, with Gabrielle at the register, just an outstanding location. I don't know when I will be coming back to shop here but I wouldn't say it never... This is a big store and they do have a lot of merchandise. Customer service is very minimal if you find one to ask for help they normally point fingers to direct you... They have a pretty good selection of north face jackets and some few choices of puffer coats I like, might be the only reason I might return next winter... Out of all the dicks locations this has to be my favorite. I have been to just about all of them that I am aware of on long island. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Make sure you also sign up for their membership card. You will coupons and exclusive deals in email and snail mail. Most of their items are brand name so the prices are kind of up their but worth it. I have purchased multiple types of items and they withstood the test of time. For instance I purchased a Columbia jacket 5 years ago and it still looks as good as new! I also love their selection of underarmour. They got all styles and all the funky-groovy colors too. Needless to say I will ALWAYS be back! read more

Love browsing at Dick's Sporting! There are no Dick's in the city besides Staten Island which is isolated by a $11 tolled bridge. The store is huge and has many of selections from beginners to expertise. If you can play it they have it! From walking sneakers to camping, biking, and canoes; yea, they got it! Memorial Day Sale is on right now! This location is the Roosevelt Mall so there is plenty of parking. The easiest access is from Old Country Road; store to the left near JC Penny. read more

I really wanted to leave a review of the Melville Dicks Sporting Goods but since they have deactivated or ability to leave a review of the store here I am. Field and stream was one of the greatest stores in the mid Island area I don't understand why they would close it now everything that Dicks Sporting Goods carries in stock you were able to get on Amazon. Field and stream was a niche store and I personally knew people that would travel over 100 miles to shop there. Now it's just Dicks Sporting Goods or should I say another useless department store that has fallen victim to our increasingly tilted liberal society. Please bring field and stream back to Long Island you have many environmentalists that enjoyed shopping at your store. read more

I hate going to Malls, but sometimes you must compromise to get things done. I needed to get some equipment, so I decided to check this place out first before heading over to REI. They pretty much had everything I needed. Score! North Face 2-person tent. Check. Camelback. Check. Tent pillow. Check. LED light. Check. This place is really spacious and with 2 floors, you could get lost in here all day. They carry men and women's apparel for all occasions. Right now, it is the end of summer, so a lot of the summer sports merchandise is on sale. Hurry and get your biking tops, board shorts for cheap! I also got a very heavy discount on my tent. I heart sales! They have a whole section for golf, sailing, camping, biking, all sorts of inline skates, hunting, swimming, hiking, fishing. Also, I think the prices are better than REI, so check here first before spedning an arm and leg over at REI. Pretty much same quality but just nicer on the wallet. read more

Love the products especially when they are on sale! :) Thanks to Tyron for a great customer service!

I mean really what do they not have? From gym wear, shoes, any sporting equipments, weights, you can get lost inside this place. If you need to grab something real quick, you probably shouldn't go here. If you have time to browse and look around, it is an overall pleasant experience. read more

Great selection earns the one star. The rest of the shopping experience was disgraceful. Asked one employee where racquet sports were. No clue. Asked second employee the same question. Was told to go the end of the aisle and make a right...and in case we forget that, she would meet us. Went to the shoe department, two employees had no idea which shoes were best for pickleball or tennis, plus both did not have masks covering their noses. On March 31st I ordered a bike from the Garden City, NY location. Went on April 1st to pick it up. Every email and text I got told me to stay in my car and they would load it in my car for safety from COVID-19. Being somewhat weary about ordering anything during this time, the fact they loaded in it for me made me feel a little easier. When the man came out, I said, "should I open the trunk?". He responded very rudely with "you're putting it in, I'm not" and walked away. Got out of my car, loaded it. Shrugged it off. I got home and immediately realized, the front tire was very bent. I called service immediately and sat on hold for an hour. The supervisor on the phone helped me rebook for same day pick up, another bike. Hung up and got the email that said standard delivery on April 10th. Called back immediately and was on hour for an hour. They told me they wouldn't be able to process the cancellation til after the bike came because I was out of my 30 minute grace period for an order THEY booked. Told them I wanted a supervisor and sat on hold long enough to go return the other bike before I was HUNG UP ON. As for the return, I was told by the store, customer service and an email they're doing curbside returns. I drive back and call the store from another phone and they tell me to go home and they aren't doing returns. I had to fight with them to even get them to talk to me. Currently waiting to see if my "request for cancellation goes through" or if I have to wait til April 10th to return it. What a TRASH experience by Dicks Sporting Goods. I'll never ever again consider them for a purchase. *****UPDATE. Second bike, that I didn't even want anymore, came with ANOTHER BENT WHEEL. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. What a WASTE. Still never heard back with a phone call that I was promised a couple days ago. Don't let them lie to you too. Do yourselves a favor and pay a little extra at a store that cares about their customers. Currently back on hold for another 5 hours I'm sure. read more
